Thank you Joe Anthony because he and Lou Roney brought Budgie to San Antonio in the 70's and that put them on the map!!!! They were and are soooo underrated! NO band today can compare!!!¡!!
May I suggest the album bandolier and if I were Britannia I'd waive the rules if you hadn't already . Definitely they both rock heavy and is also how I came on board many years ago RIP BURKE SHELLY
Some present-day examples of great music/great album covers: Alice in Chains- The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here Tomahawk- Oddfellows Spacemetal- Stare Blue Öyster Cult- The Symbol Remains Lana Del Rey- Honeymoon Last but not least... Budgie - You're all living in Cuckooland!
For me it was usually the crappeir the cover = the better the music is. Or covers that verge on both good and bad, i.e. mediocre amateurish inking/pencilling, but great coloring etc.
This is my favorite Budgie album. It was the only album that they released in Canada so copies were always easy to find. Got my first taste of Budgie in '87. This album is really fun to play along with on guitar. Tony Bourge was underrated but he was another really heavy riff merchant. Something about having a mustache and the name Tony I guess..........

@@agentstanley29 Parakeets, yes. People in the UK tend to call them budgies, but they are the same. Oh, and as a spoiler regarding the album in question: the parakeet catches the cat on the back cover...

I enjoy hearing the opinions of professional musicians. Of course, it is the lay listener whose opinion raises the musician to exalted status. No fans, no profession for the musician. I enjoy hearing the opinions of fans.
Most underrated band.
Agree! Some other notable underrated rock bands are Trouble, Rick Derringer, Pat Travers, Robin Trower, UFO and Y & T.

Oustanding musicality ❤❤❤
So awesome music for easy listening I listen when doing things
I was lucky to have seen these guys at the old Waldorf in Frisco about 75,or 76... Small venue and they kicked ass !
That must have been awesome. Never got 2 c them but was hooked immediately from their bandolier album.
This album goes hard btw. Never heard of this group. I am happy I did.

Weltklasse Alben von Budgie!
Hell yeah great rock .reminds me of early judas priest
Only better!
Their albums are all good just some better than others!
Bands/Music & ppl aren’t made like this anymore🍻
Talk about underrated heavy metal records
I miss the days when you could tell that an album contains great music just by looking at the cover.
If you judged music by album covers boy did you get suckered and missed out on a bunch of music

This is a terrible album cover lol
@@HumanBeanbag That's how we know the music is great.
Looks like my cat... That's why it caught my attention 😄😄 that said I've also always loved Budgie...
Budgie fucking rocks as hard as sabbath rush zepplin
Great album one of their Best.
I wish this was on spotify, I love it.
There are a few live versions up/.
Amazing how it sounds better today than when it was new.
This album was recorded in Canada and allowed the band to travel and tour in the USA, great era for the band
Thanks for sharing this with us out here in south Alabama USA ☮️❤️

Sensacional!!!
This is like The quintessential 70’s Rock sound!
It gives me a pre-billion dollar babies alice cooper vibe mixed with nugent or dio
Because it is. 😂

This bass kick ass
Hear the KISS influence, some Captain Beyond, a little Rush. Maybe some Robert Plant?
Burke loved Zep but to suggest they were influenced by Rush and Kiss is ridiculous - they sounded like this on their first album in 1971
Pero que maravilla es esta????

@daniilslesarchuk3878 absolutely always crank budgie as loud as possible to this day . Cheers
This is one of Budgies weaker albums but still has a few bangers on it.
Desde argentina los saludamos pidiendoles un bis .geniales .
If this is one of their weaker albums, I can't wait to delve into their other work.
I agree - not a patch on their first two albums but still not bad and they were still great live at this time
Melt the ice away is the best track of the album
Thanks Dave Mustaine
Myf Isaac doesn't play on this album - he just helped out on rhythm guitar at the gigs
thanks for telling me
2 songs in a row with lyrics saying "listen to me woman" ??
what the hell was happening in Canada in the 70's? 🤣🤣🤣
I think in 1976 the Canadian dollar was at par with the US dollar.
And, April Wine and Rush?
🤷♂️
That's all I got 😂
Budgie were from Wales so maybe it’s a welch thing :)

Women didn't listen back then. And they don't listen now. It's an important message. Crucial, really. And it's beautifully stated on the album.

If you make music professionally then your opinion matters
What's that mean?
Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one but no one wants to hear it.
I'm just saying this albums great and I can say that cause I play guitar and the guitars are great I can have an opinion cause I play guitar

Adverts in the middle of songs. 👎
Disagree with the last comment....not one of their weaker lps. Just not promoted well and was a low seller. But this LP rocks.
Weak.
This. Album. Kicks. Ass. Like. Every. Budgie lp. Does

It was well promoted and they did a big UK tour at the time of release (I was at the Newcastle gig)
Fuck yeah, it's Budgie!!!!!
These guys were incredible but for eff's sake, they had the worst album covers.
🤟
