    Any idea if most (or all) Bosch use torx t25?
    I’ve been trying but using a 1/8” Allen with no luck

    On some chucks, if the jaws are retracted all the way back and wont come out again, the following trick can help: Stick the largest shank/drill which still fits into the chuck all the way to the back.. Then tighten it. This can recover the jaws. Though this can only work if nothing has been broken before.

    do you have to get torx t25 bit? is there an equivalent hex bit that will work? Yes I've googled it but I'd rather get advice from the people commenting here and Bossy DIY. thx.

    Thanks and I just find out that you can simply use el cheapo generic 13/10 mm NORMAL key chuck as long as it has 1/2" 20 UNF thread shank. Most 10mm dril chuck use 3/8" 24UNF which is smaller, and most 13mm will be more likely to have 1/2" 20 UNF. The keyed normal chuck will actually act like "Bosch one hand" keyless chuck. I reckon using generic keyless chuck will need 2 hand operation as it's not aware of Bosch idle locked shank.

      Have you tried this? I want to fit a 13mm chuck to my bosch 10.8v.
      If I understanding your comment correctly this will work fine?

    • @supeskrim
      @supeskrim 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nathanhedgeley8016 It should, but to double check read the markings somewhere of the original chuck. Look for the UNF numbers, 1/2 or 3/8. Use magnifying glass if necessary. I did try but using the newer GSR12. But I guess Bosch never use 3/8 since I also have corded 10mm keyed chuck drill which also use 1/2 UNF. Except perhaps their mini 6mm drill (never had one). Even the original 10mm keyed chuck is using same key size normally for 13mm chuck.

      Anyway the chuck is damaged, try to cut half of the chuck so you can access the screw and then with an Adjustable Pipe Wrench fix it and force it with the hammer

    Funny, another video shows to turn it counter-clockwise, but you show clockwise. I'll try clockwise now because it aint goin' nowhere counter-clockwise. By the way, it's a piece of Chinese junk masquerading as a Makita. In my case, the jaws are all misaligned, won't turn.

    • @supeskrim
      @supeskrim ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The viewpoint from the front facing the chuck: the inner screw is open reverse (clockwise). The chuck itself open nurmally counter-clockwise. Since Bosch cordless drill are spindle lock automatically it won't be needing "hammer once for the chuck" like corded drill (free spindle).

    • @hgr4255
      @hgr4255 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@supeskrim I'll try anything that works. I even liked that Chinese replica, it did a good job until the jaws locked in place. I guess it's time to throw it away after another try.
      Thanks for your advice.

    • @hgr4255
      @hgr4255 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@supeskrim Maybe I'm not clear about my situation. Yeah, the jaws are locked, but one of the jaws is not in position with the others which is causing the problem. It's halfway retracted and the others are in a different position.

    • @CMCdiy
      @CMCdiy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Those jaws should be aligned. You have a blocked chuck, you have to get to the screw inside the chuck that loosens in the direction of threading and then force the chuck to unscrew normally in the direction of threading
      For the same reason I also changed the chuck.
