I had a push problem so I took a lesson and was told I was rolling the club inside and needed to get it steeper , now I have a push and a pull and and fats a d thins . I'm a 12 hdcp and my irons are like someone that has just started
Playing the game. Can't wait to try this and if it works I will be most grateful to you.

Thanks Ryan. Great explanation of my steep golf swing & how to improve it.

Played this last weekend. Went left.....then right then left then right. I was scratching my head wondering why I could have such a wide disparity of shots. I think you just saved my life. Heading to the range right now to work on this. Thanks!

This is definitely a common pattern I see that cause pulls and pushes however there are other swing characteristics that cause it and could be different from player to player. Good luck 👍🙏🏼

Very good explanation. I'm prone to the occasional pull especially if it's on a hole that makes me uncomfortable. This could be something to look at. Cheers!

Ryan I'm a 73year old golfer and am experiencing difficulty rotating like I once did. As a result my divots are massively left resulting in toe hits, pulls and no distance. Not sure if shallowing in transition will help here due to my lack of rotation. Any suggestions.

Could be a number of reasons Bob. Honestly, without seeing your swing it’s very hard to give you sound advice. Everyone’s swing is so individual that a piece of advice for someone be player may not be the right info for another. Let me know if you’d like an analysis of your swing to help you with your own individual tendencies 👍🏻

@@ryanmouquegolf thanks for the prompt response. I will try the "shallowing in transition" move in tomorrows comp. Can't be any worse than my Monday 9 hole effort 👍👍

So face angle is not the cause of the starting direction? Eg: the face aims left and starts left face aims right starts right. Your explanation is quite contradictory. Maybe I am not following.

Face is most definitely the main cause of start direction. In the pull example the path was 1.3 positive (to the right) and face -5.2 closed to the path… so in essence the face was closed 3.9 deg. With irons, the face is responsible for 75% of the balls starting direction. Hopefully that makes sense

      What explanation is contradicting?

I think the proper terminology would be slices and hooks. Not pulls and pushes.
