    Hey Shawn, I'm a left-hander, right-hand dominant, from my perspective, I feel like I'm making myself set up too much to the right and then turning my shoulders and head Left! Behind the ball. I go with the strong grip, with my forearm to the sky, trailing arm. I shut my club face and swing, letting my arms and momentum go out to the left. I developed a solid straight push to the left ironically! with my 9-iron to gap wedge, But with the strong grip and shut face, my driver, on the other hand is developing its draw, sometimes overdraw, but the the push slice to the left is gone! and the block is very minimal when it occurs.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We need to be much more precise with your path and club face; on our premium channel, you will see “alignment reload”, “blur of club”, “how to match backswing to ball direction” and “arc blur unstoppable momentum series”; then you can see polish club face and grip relationship with the “goldilocks series” and then “fade fine tuning” and “draw fine tuning”
      Now, if you have not done any release work, get to the “trail hand release” and “important release update” videos; and finally “target confirmation series” so that when you let momentum release your arm anatomy into the direction you want to start the ball, that the ball will start there and curve in the air the way you want it to. 😀👍

    • @golflessons

      No more upright than Bubba Watson’s or Justin Thomas or Jack Nicklaus! And the release part is pure anatomy being allowed to release into the direction of flight; just like in baseball hitting, tennis serves, hockey wrist shots, ping pong top spin backhand releases etc…we were built for this move! See our premium channel for way more details on this at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and see all the “release” videos as well as the “throwing the club and throwing series” and predict contact and the goldie locks series” for starters!

    Hooking right recently, after a few great days of nice push draws. Watching this and seems like i have migrated to too much of a closed face. Have to reset my mind and try going more open face fade or slice using "Goldilocks" to dial the right grip to face.

  • @boxcampus4153
    @boxcampus4153 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So good as always. I have a problem that I'm slicing and blocking no matter how much I close the face (with the driver even 90 degrees closed!). I have realized lately that it must be my wrists doing something like collapsing, unknowingly to me. They try to be even stronger gripped than the 90 degree closed face. To have the face of the blade follow my arms/body, I have to feel like I'm twisting the club while swinging. It works and I can now both fade and draw, but tend to also hook more often when I overdo it. Is this normal or have I started a bad habit manipulating the club? Wish I could film myself in ultra rapid and find out what happens.

      Ok, here is what you need to do and it will only cost you $9.95! On my premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com you want to see our ALL IMPORTANT series of RELEASE videos (just type “release” in the search box at the top of the list of videos by date)
      -lead hand release is where most falter
      -trail hand release is easier but STILL NEEDS TO BE EXPERIENCED
      -release fine tuning
      -snap release polish
      -turbo charge lead hand release
      -turbo charge trail hand release
      Start there; then when you get good, you will need to back off on the amount of face closure until you find your own slot; then it’s over, you can predict the curvature of your golf ball at will ONLY IF YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THROUGH THE BALL, so add “predict contact” and the “goldie locks series” and finally “target confirmation series” and “stick your finish despite the ball series”
      Let go! only $9.95 per month and stay as long as you like!

    Shawn , Okay had two drives block out the right . I was set with intermediate target divot mark to my target , one foot in front . Had the blur going right over divot right side .
    Big Block , club face closed 20 degree's . Now I see this video on blocking and your closing the face and swinging straight down the intermediate target . Hmmm
    I know where addressing the block . But my club going right of the intermediate blocked , maybe I just didn't release and held on. But had went straight down the intermediate target
    I might have released . Confused just a bit on this.

    Hi Shawn, I play with one length irons. I have ZERO problems hitting my LW to 8i straight with a slight draw. I have a really strong grip (3 knuckles at least). But for some reason, I have a tendency to block my 7 to 4i to the right. Same grip, same length of club, same lie angle. Would you know why this happens? thanks.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this one is easy! The more loft you have the more backspin and less side spin you have; so the lower loft they are, the more they show your mistakes; which in this case is an open face…

  • @edwarddelavilla3475
    @edwarddelavilla3475 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Shawn, will correcting the clubface to be squared with handle leading result in a straight ball flight or will it cause a draw? Everyone who sees my driving swing says I’m not turning my shoulders fast enough… but when I look at Kyle Berkshire, our shoulder turn is about the same. I don’t see Kyle with a closed clubface at address. Kyle keeps his trail elbow bent and leading in the downswing, when getting to trail thigh he lets the wrist release, hips already facing target, with shoulders slightly open. Although he doesn’t have a closed clubface at address, I do notice he aims slightly to the left and he embraces the slightly open clubface to match up to where he wants to hit.
    Any tips or insight would be great, just thought it might be wrong if my driver address has a closed driver face. It seems I’m not releasing my wrist early enough like Kyle is doing around his trail thigh… Not sure which way to lean, your way or Kyle’s? Or if there is similarity in both. Thanks Shawn! I only trust your knowledge out of all the instructors out there, you absolutely know your stuff!

    I’m not really pulling or pushing shots, my problem is too much spin one way or the other. Well maybe a pull from time to time but my problem has became a hook. I can hit a fade almost on command lately but I got a hole number 2 about 40 yards of fairway to work with and I smack the tree down the left. Kind of not feesable to hit the fade on that hole. Just the way the tee box is setup can’t get a clear fade off.Tighter down the right side than left right side completely blocks you out from the hole almost all the way down. I’ve started to play course management by playing at the trouble that way I don’t hit it. If it’s down the left I’ll aim at it and play a fade if it’s down the right I play at it and play a draw been working numbers but I need to develop the draw more properly

      A lot of his stuff is done without a ball in the way. You can get pretty dialed in with just a T in the ground acting as the ball. Also foam golf balls work great for tight areas, same as wiggle golf balls. Hitting a volleyball/soccer ball is a great drill too to add speed, delay the release, add lag, get deeper compression etc. And I promise you won’t hit it too far if you have a 4-6’ high fence. He has tons of this stuff on his premium channel and his professionally shot teaching videos with 99% of his lessons in one. I believe he has 2 of them now. • @alexanderlitzenberg
      @alexanderlitzenberg 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@golflessons We're not throwing or whipping the golf ball though. Those analogies don't apply here. They have to be curved to keep the puck or ball from sliding off the tip of the hockey stick or flying out of the Jai Alai basket way off line. A stronger grip or some shaft lean at address is one thing, but closing the face is just plain bad advice.
