    We live facing the lake in Lakewood, I have never been more scared about weather in my life. Looking at the boats loose and hitting each other and seeing 2 huge trees falling down. The drive after the storm was shocking, there was more trees down than up! Thanks for sharing even tho we lived it right on the spot.

    I believe this is what they would call a RFD (Rear Flank Downdraft). Depending on the storm and location. Otherwise, it was a strong micro burst but typically micro bursts don't strike, stop, and then strike again. It's usually a single gust of wind that last for a few seconds.

    • @aviationjay4765
      @aviationjay4765 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pettrix it was a decently strong downburst flex that caused the ripple effect with the downpouring wind. Microburst are rather small to be that large. RFDs is a key mechanism in formations of tornadoes in supercells which may include intense wind, rain, and hail surging from the back side of the storm. ⛈ where he was, there was no sign of Tornado so it wouldn’t be an RFD.

I was working at Fry's when it hit, and I made sure to go out the next day to survey the damages... needless to say I was shocked at what I saw. Off to watch the rest of your videos! Can't imagine being on the bus. 40th & Pecos was hit hard as well. The video started with my driving west from 40th towards 32nd when I stopped at the light and it got really hairy. I could see the roof tiles coming off the roofs and then I turned around. At 3:08 minutes into the film I am heading East and you can see a tree skid across the road in front of me. When I drove by later, I noted that a speed limit sign was taken out. Not sure if from the tree or wind. Thanks for viewing!!!

    I think I might have capture the swamp cooler around 7:47. It was either a swamp cooler or someone's metal top to their fire place. I saw a number of those around. Right around 3:08 is where a speed limit sign was ripped out of the ground as well heading east bound on Pecos just after I made the U-turn. Not sure if the tree took it out or the wind. It was really hard to see. Thanks for viewing and glad nothing more serious occurred.....

    Now THAT"S what I call an Arizona monsoon, haven't had one that bad in years here in Tucson! Remember first one to hit me in my car when I first came out here in 1970, on I-10 between Phoenix and Tucson. Had to pull off an exit ramp (which led into the desert at the time) and I have NEVER seen so much rain, lightening, mud etc. and hope I never do again! Traffic had to be led by highway patrol after the storm passed.

    To all the west coasters moving here.... reconsider.
    Besides the huge pd presence you cannot cannot drive like an a/h you will cause an accident and or lose your life. You better be aware have your wits about because the nice clear weather change in a few hours or less.
    I might add last year 20 22 got stuck in the worst intense microburst sheet of water coming down so hard my wipers could not keep up and could not see for 15 seconds. Best to pull over and just let the worst of the storm pass if you can. Not far from pecos believe it was on Higley past Peco but before Germann there seems to be a spot where the rain would concentrate every time. Weird.

Trees get knocked down and then we can't drive anywhere and have to call people do that we can drive to work cuz it blocks our way of getting out of the neighborhood 😂 It's crazy ugh every year there's somethin...we are due for a crazy earthquake but it never happened so I'm worried about that! It's supposed to be huge like 8.0 kind of huge 😱🙏

      I live in Washington too. In Lacey, where we had a microburst 2 years ago. It was terrifying. The trees were blowing out of the ground everywhere around us. One of my daughters and I were stuck in our car a block from home and my other daughters were home with my mom. Thankfully, none of us were injured. I hope we never see another microburst in person again.
