@@Olivia-no7mi Good question! There are a few things going on here. There was a retention pond nearby behind the fence with those birds probably agitated by the storm and they started squawking more, but I think the rain and wind also distorted the sound quality on the video as the heavy stuff came through so it's hard to say which is which! Maybe I will upgrade my gear for next time. I started the video standing up on the stone fireplace so some rain probably got into the phone. That may have been a wrong move.
It's not captured fully in the video but there was an audible surge of wind that just swept through like nothing I've ever heard before. Very fortunate to be in a newer neighborhood with limited old growth trees at the time. Old farm land that didn't have anything significant that could get toppled over.
@@ronaldshank7589 absolutely! I forgot that you can hear some hammering in the first part of the video as a neighbor was up on a ladder building a porch and luckily cleared the area just in time to get out of the storm.
@@Natural.Havoc.2k I'm not a climate scientist but I've chased storms all over New York State for the last twenty plus years. The intensity and frequency of storms appears higher to me now than it has been at any point that I can remember with a couple of exceptions: the blizzard of 1993 and the 1998 F-3 Mechanicsville tornado.
Weather patterns have always varied across the Earth by era's. Some years see droughts, others see severe wet seasons. The Earth is coming out of an ice age so warmer temperatures can't be attributed simply to global warming. Climate change has been happening for as long as the Earth has existed. It's not man made, it's the natural progression of mother nature.
What's With All The Warbling Sound's?.

I remember that storm hitting Berne New York wiped out power over 24 hours.

I get it! Because Derecho means “Whale’s mouth!” XD
@kaitlynhowell lol, it was epic for sure!
These moments really remind us that we need to take stronger action to protect the environment. What are your thoughts on climate change? 1:17
