Reaaally starting to think that the kenway parkour is held back by the environment/geometry rather than by the actual system itself. Seeing a Connor in Florence or Jerusalem would be interesting to say the least.
Absolutely. This system has potential to be just as good for parkour as the system in the Ezio games, it just never got the same level of attention dedicated to it in its environments. Havana and AC3’s NY are good, but either don’t get quite enough in terms of encouraging optimization or don’t really have the right kind of world geometry to maximize all of the depth in the system. AC3 was really the first instance of the mindset for parkour changing from being focused on animation fidelity and “smoothness” over depth and expression (even though it’s far from being overly focused on that, like _certain following titles_ coughunitycough). AC3 was so close to being a true improvement & evolution from the classic system. Just a few wrong turns made all the difference, unfortunately.
This happened to me in Black Flag twice. Now I understand how I triggered it. Thx for the tutorial Jcers, your vids really make me better at these games and Leo K too
The vault to hang animation is actually pretty cool because, although there's not much difference in speed between that and the classic "standing on top of the platform with both feet and dropping to hang" it's more realistic because it's what a free runner would most likely do irl
My biggest problem is the rooftop gunners especially in Black Flag & Rogue. They ruin my Parkour Flow because I don't wanna get shot and then dragged into a combat or fleeing scenario.
That’s not really surprising. Some people have stuff with these games figured out but don’t think that it’s special that they know how to do it. Here’s a tip: if you know about cool shit in AC games and you never see anyone else do it or talk about it, post about it online and share it with people!
btw I tested this in Rogue, the weird turnaround after hanging instead of back ejecting seems to only happen if you don't let go of high profile. So to avoid it you just need to hold high profile + loot to do the vault then let go of high profile and immediately do the input for a back eject. edit: well immediately after I made this comment I tested it out again and now it seems to be pure random :p
Hello Jcers, I learned of a new mechanic in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. If you equip the knives as a seperate tool and hold assassinate you'll crouch (yeah everyone knows this) and it allows you to cover with an object. The high profile crouch button is perfect until an enemy comes to the small object from the other side and detects you. This crouch mode allows you to throw knives from cover like in Syndicate but better. After you throw the knives you must immediately press high profile and legs to remain crouched. I don't know if you or someone else hasn't come up with this yet, but in case it's a new thing you could make a tutorial for it 👍.
You need to do videos on ghost of Tsushima, if you managed to get any content for your channel from GTA, then you'll surely find something interesting there
can you show us how u do parkour on keyboard? or a tought if controller or keyboard is better on controller u can jump any direction but on pc the camera movement is better so u cand jump where u point the camera ?
If you get the inputs correct, 10 out of 10. Due to the restriction on the heights, certain spots are more finicky to get than others, but it’s theoretically possible to do it every single time you want to if your inputs are clean enough.
@@jcers while I commented I got a little bit practice of doing this. Now it's happening atleast but not often. I am sure I mess somewhere in the distance between Connor and obstacle before pressing hp button again. It's irritating to learn but sure is the only move I want to perform at repeat

Also if you hold high profile after a jump, Connor will hold that cool super hero landing pose.

@@jcersbetter areas and less buggy parkour would make it the best parkour system
It’s dumb that you can’t back or side eject in the second half of a wall run though
Interesting stuff Jcers! Its crazy that still new parkour moves can be found in those older games
For real. AC3 came out almost a decade ago and we’re still learning relatively major stuff about it today. Crazy.
@@jcers yeah and its also a useful mechanic. Idk the move reminds of the vaulting in Ac1. I'll definitely try to make a parkour video around this move
Oh this animation from ac 1 is in kenway too!!
Its so usefull for parkour thank you so much jcers(:
No problem!
I wish there was an in depth Animus Training Tutorial or something in the pause menu in these games.
Same. Can’t believe they did it once for Brotherhood and then never touched it again.
Out of all the Kenway games, I have played Rogue the most but I never used this mechanic, thanks for sharing!

I get that. Sleep darts are your friends

I already knew this mechanic 😅 but more people will get to know about this mechanic now so that's good

So games that have this are AC1, 3-Rogue.
For some reason i thought 2-Revelations inherited it from AC1 but apparently not.
