I can't help but reargitate how content packed Ac3 was for it's time, modern day locations, homestead missions, peg leg missions, Underground(although boring but had a dungeon type feel) interesting weapons like rope darts, refined recruits system, animal hunting and ofcourse navy. AC 3 was so good man 😩
@@infinitespinergy1220 Honestly, the recruits having their own style and personality as well as bringing their own special ability is one of the good things. But as with everything else in this freaking game, you barely got any chance to use these abilities.
Love this. Love "non-standard" Tombs/Secret Locations/Linear Missions. AC3 Present Day missions, Server Bridges in Unity etc. Would love more from the series since the linearity presses a player to find solutions to movement challenges that are otherwise less-needed in an open world context. To get those back we need actual free movement again though, I think.
It's a disappointment that mirage doesn't even have side ejects... they really treat the players like we're toddlers unable to press a couple of buttons at the same time.
Man, I miss the present days of Assassin's creed. Back then the lore was different. AC had a different kinda vibe to it. Enriched with history, fantasy, futuristic and God magic. That was the era of AC. We always thought we were playing and doing these memory trips to empower our protagonist to be the best assassin in modern day and will fight back abstergo. That was to me a thrilling and exciting premise that I was waiting for in the future. But... See now what happened. Who would've thought this beautiful franchise (along with many others) will lost its direction, quality and charm and gets doomed forever by the hands of its own creator.
Well the actual creator, Patrice Désilets left Ubisoft sometime during the development of AC Brotherhood. I found since then the present day story arc became underdeveloped - even though the AC3 missions were fun, I found them storywise totally underdeveloped and weak. I mean, AC 1, 2 & Brotherhood didn't show more by any means but they did such a great job in building up the anticipation... The "finale" in AC3 of all this was really underwhelming imo. And I don't even want to speak about Revelations 😂
That guy at the end was such a moron, why on earth did he get so close to a trained assassin. He had a gun so was fine to maintain distanve, it was desmond, who was unarmed, who needed to get in close.
This just reinforces my idea that ACIII should have been an all modern-day story, as Revelations closed the arcs of Altair and Ezio and the main goal was the imminent launch of Abstergo's satellite and doomsday. No hate to Connor thou, I think he was a great character and lately people have been appreciating him more
I was hoping for a modern day AC so much...! But I think it's part of the business model to never resolve those story arc and always spray in just a little bit of modern story here and there to tease the player/consumer and make them hoping for more. I mean it's the perfect way to resolve the games' main stories (past time) and yet have a cliff hanger (modern time).
Killing Desmond was the worst decision they could have made for Modern Day. He was our tether and ongoing thread to that storyline, and without him it just gradually disappeared. And then they killed Juno in the comics…ugh…
I was LITERALLY just thinking about how cool present day was in this game... like come on ubisoft how can you do away with so many cool concepts in this franchise😭😭😭
They should of just solidified the Watch Dogs connection and have Aiden Pearce take over as protagonist from Desmond, it's too similar Aiden's hacks and his posture during them just echoes Desmond +Altair Apple of Eden moments too well.
The one thing that bothers me so much in video games (and seems to happen all the time) is the person with the gun purposely gets close to his target. If you pull a gun on someone you're supposed to back away from them, not move closer.
Hey jcers can you look at a video of titled wtf did I do. I did some kind of a vault in ac rogue. if it’s not a bother can you break it down on how to master it
Modern day definitely used to be better, It was never great for me because Desmond has all the charisma of a wet cardboard but it used to be better then what ever tf is going on now
Not gonna lie, I always found the modern day parts of the AC games pretty dull. You get ancient gods repeatedly bitching and whining about how "terrible humanity is", lots of boring parkour (just press forward and X), and "everything is terrible" vibe because Templars are winning and a lot of annoying character drama between unlikeable douche bags (sure love Shaun constantly deriding me). Whereas the animus sections were bright, colourful, you took action to bring down the bad guys and it was not just parkour.

Nah, it wasn't good exaclty because it made zero use of all that potential.
It was weird that your recruits did not have a robe, or even an actual hidden blade on their hand.

Oh how I used to think that all of this progression with Desmond was going somewhere, its a shame.

@@asat103 is it confirmed it doesnt?
0:15 Wow AC3 predicted fidget spinners
Loved AC3's Modern Day. They made Desmond such a badass.
Back when Modern day was actually interesting and good
Valhalla's modern day was pretty good too imo.
I love how the use the leap of faith for the parachute jump
Nice run, you found a really interesting eject that I didn’t even think of near the beginning
AC3 really showed the potential that modern day had. A shame Ubisoft always gets scared of it’s own potential
One of the main reasons for this part feeling amazing are definitely animations and top notch transitions between them
One of my favourite parts of AC3.

I miss the linear missions in these games, they were awesome
This!!!! Also this made me miss how different characters had different run animations
Love Shawn's optimistic veiw on things 😂
AC 3 had the best modern day according to me !

tbh I thought the Phoenix Project storyline in Unity/Syndicate had some legs but they chose to resolve it in a comic.
Such wasted potential 😞
People hate on AC 3 , and yet they forget it added some of the best stuff to the AC games

I think about this a lot

I gotta know bro. How long did it take to perfect those strict camera angles and complete those without stopping?
Modern day tombs with more traversl puzzles would have been awesome.
I literally played this yesterday on my stream xD

You really think so? AC3's MD is nowhere near Brotherhood's level, they completely missed the point with it.
I loved your gameplay though👍
its still cool tho

AC 3 modern day was fine better than revelations & 1 but in the last mission where tou had to find those switches as Desmond was very painful.
