I just did this because I saw this video. But I welded a nut so when I put the bolt in, it pressed it out. Thank you for this video, I understand the frustration 👏👏
Thank you!!! I’ve been fighting with mine for a few hours each day for the last week and like you, I’ve tried all of the tricks out there. I’m trying this tomorrow, but with Nora Kent’s idea included.
I like that idea too! I think I was just at a point of pure annoyance and did it the harder way. In other words I wish I'da thunk of that! Hahaha Good luck and please let us know how it worked out! :)
TELL ME ABOUT IT! I was HATING LIFE and the auto parts store for their cheap removal tools! Thank you so much for the awesome comment! I sincerely appreciate it!
I hope it works out for you!! I’ve been meaning to post an update, that replacement has successfully gotten my truck back to work ever since I released this video. Just please be careful! 😁
You know, I've given that some thought over the years and you know what. Knowing what I know now? I wouldn't have done it that way for that very purpose. However, that ford still runs to this day. I'm thankful for that though, I got lucky. I think whatever luck I have doesn't show up on lottery tickets, it gets used on things like this lol.
@TheFenderman I was going to ground to block as well but my buddy who is WAY more, like night and day more, knowledgeable than me brought it to my attention. This is a new crate motor I put a standard pilot bearing in but it needs one made for shaft repair sleeve so have to pull it out or swap the shaft. Going to use 7/8 all thread it will also fit the ball joint press cup so should be cake. Thanks for video have great weekend.
Y'know, that's a good question. I was beyond reason making this so it was coming out one way or another. Hindsight 20/20 I see now that it would probably be best to zap a nut onto the inside of that bearing and run a bolt through. 😅 I'd definitely say it'd be worth a try! Probably yield better results as well!
Things were already broken 🤷♂️.. I was willing to take that risk at that point and the truck still runs great to this day. I’m making an update video as we speak!

TY mine seems to be headed this way lol.
I’ve been working on mine for 3 months. I am not a welder but I’ll go find someone to weld a nut or a bolt on. Thanks!
May want to ground to bolt I assume ground to block may arc through some stuff you don't want it to.

Weren’t you worried about the ground arcing thru the main bearings where you had the ground??
If you weld a nut could you just screw the bolt down till it bottoms out?

I used some clay and a 12mm socket came right out
You sure you tried that on a ford? Hahahah, lucky you!
