      I love Joan, she was an incredible talent and unbelievably hilarious and quick. Always remember that you, too, matter. You are unique and special, and have things to offer the world that no one else can. Especially when you can take everything you've struggled with and overcome as lessons learned, you can help and make a difference in your own ways. You got this!

    • @glennfromthebronx
      @glennfromthebronx 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I wouldn't say they were "trashing" Carson...they were talking about some of his most unpleasant habits...most revolving around his own vindictive nature. I read through Bushkin's book//on Amazon Prime....Bushkin was not being "personal"....just giving facts, and where it applied, mentioned his role in some of the issues between him and Carson. Overall, Bushkin remains positive about Carson. Both say Carson was the greatest talk show host in history..and earned it.

    • @m.e.d.7997
      @m.e.d.7997 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Fair enough and I agree with you but I still think it IS sad to hear them talking about him especially Joan. Johnny really loved her I think and she said he made her career. So to think it came to that show with the two of them. I vacillate on my opinion of the fallout between the two of them. Both of them are valid in their feelings I think about Joan and her move to have her own show. I think the fact that it was on in his time slot was the nail in the coffin, Joan owed nothing to the Tonight Show and had every right to move on. Johnny wasn't leaving and there was no clear picture that the show would ever belong to her exclusively.

    When it comes to best female comedians, sorry, the best. I could watch hours of Joan on a roll like this. Her comedy about sexuality coming from a woman's perspective is just hilarious, and just human, one hundred percent. And trust me, Winters, Rickles, and Robin are just as much my favorites.

    I was 19 and at one of the 4 live show recordings that became Joan River's album, WHAT BECOMES A SEMI-LEGEND MOST? (the 1st man or woman to earn $20 grand per night, EVER, in Las Vegas) and THAT was wildfire. She had to keep it calm on TV. OH, my God! Mass hysteria and the passion of 4000 people HOWLING in unison. On fire. RIP, Joan Rivers. You brought undistilled joy into my life. I was humbled.

    I think JC was quietly crazy about Joan. That's why it ended so bitterly. You can see from his face and body language he really loved her. And it broke his heart when she indepedently forged ahead for he discovered her and made her a star.

      Joan would've been funny and famous without Carson. After Carson black balled her, she went on to become a pioneer in other facets of entertainment: the red carpet, QVC jewelry, Joan and Melissa, and a few other groundbreaking shows, author of at least twelve books, a couple on the NY best sellers list, truly a successful legend and national treasure.

  • @davidpatterson555
    @davidpatterson555 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    One of the most iconic women, and a pioneer in comedy! I don’t think her style of comedy would really fly today… she would be cancelled so many times, and wouldn’t give a damn! As far as the Liz Taylor jokes, Liz actually wanted to be in Joan’s act! It meant that she was still relevant. It was either Liz or Cher that Joan took out of one of her acts and they called Joan up and told her to put them back in the act! They understood it… Joan was hilarious! Absolutely hilarious! It was never mean, or malicious… it was all just simply humor! Comedy! Back when comedy was actually funny…

      She is missed by millions of people. Joan Rivers was a very generous and genuine person off stage. People like you judge her for her on stage persona. She remained relevant and stood the test of time. She was the greatest and funniest comedian until the day she died. Even now, no one can come close because she came from a time when performers had actual talent and intellect. I’m baffled by your comment that she’s in Hell. Are you Omniscient? Are you God? If you don’t like Joan or Johnny Carson, then why do you watch their clips? You’re nothing but an internet troll.
