- Today I use my Gap Tool G4 to unlock adaptive cruise control in my Land Rover Defender. This is a great scan tool, substitute for lift rods, and can unlock other features such as park assist, dynamic mode, tow assist, terrain response, and setting your tire roll radius.

It’s good to know the manufacturers haven’t found a way to prevent you from doing these things. On one hand it’s so impressive how much technology is in these modern vehicles but on the other hand I feel we are missing out on that raw driving experience and we also become more and more dependent on these things. Only the other day I had an ECU fault on my relatively unsophisticated Golf which meant the parking radar was inactivated. I had to make a conscious effort to remind myself to not rely on the beep to tell me I was getting close to the wall I was reversing towards.
The Gap tool will work will all Rangy and Landy cars. The locked to Vin is what allows indepth diagnostics. You can plug into any landy and clear faults etc. You can also use one gap tool for multiple cars if you buy additional Vin unlocks.
You are correct that this is the best tool any land rover owner can get!!! ❤❤❤❤
Wow!! Outside of the stand alone replacement high performance ecu software on my 1993 RX7 FD, I’ve never seen such a complete programming device. I’d be seriously nervous about some of the changes you made. You’ve got nerves of steel brother.
Would you mind sharing the ECU changes to change the tire radius. I run a slightly bigger tires. Love my G4. Park assist, ACC, dynamic, global close, key-fob trunk opening, eLift and leveling the vehicle when parked. Great for service too. Brake flushes etc.
That is a bit like a 'Feature update' for Windows but perhaps not the best analogy. The features are already 'in' the Land Rover but not enabled as I understand it? I think you explained it very well but it is worth people fully researching the features they want before just going in and changing things. It is an interesting piece of kit to have with the addition of a diagnostic tool that seems to be better than a standard one. Thanks for sharing this Steve. 👍👍

Thanks for the video. I have a D-90 as well. I saw that there are 2 versions of the Gap Tool (Regular and Pro) there is a significant difference in price. Did you get the $650 or the $2000+ version?
Not sure if you have onboard air but I have designed a mounting plate to install the Dual ARB compressor with tank underneath the floor board in the rear. If interested let me know and I’ll share the install details with you. I also installed 34” tires without relocating the coolers and keeping the mud flaps. I had to do some trimming but So far so good.
The cheaper one you probably only need to use it with one vehicle. Make sure it’s the version 4 that is most important part.

Does the parking assist work on 2022 v6 models ? Which parks your car automatically? I have a devender 2022 v6 xs edition
It’s a straight 6 engine.
The new generation of Ingenium petrol & diesel engines are not a V6 motor.
If memory serves me correctly, the
P400 3 litre straight 6 petrol ingenium motor, was first introduced with the Defender.
UK deliveries began early 2020.
This P400 motor then became available in other JLR vehicles.
Different variants of the 3 litre straight six diesel Ingenium motor, first went on sale, in Defender, in the UK, as of early 2021…
Can this device also be used to reset oil changes, front radar calibration , brake fluid changes? Where is a good place to purchase it in the USA?

Can you verify that the adaptive cruise control actuall works as it should? I see that the steering wheel controls illuminated, but Land Rover insists that there are extra cameras along with other hardware on the vehicles equipt with it.

Heated and cooled seats use a peltier pad and a fan to blow air over the pad and through the seat, requiring ventilation holes in the seat.
So no, the seats are very different.
When the day comes when I can’t park my car on my own is the day I cancel my licence and get a refund from MTO (Ontario)
Just hope you don’t have to have spine or neck fusions.
