*Please note to everyone saying there were a lot of misplays or "cheats", these people were kind enough to agree to play a recorded game under less than ideal circumstances. The GP was incredibly packed and there was a LOT going on that was causing a great deal of stress beyond just playing a game of Magic for this video.*
*We had about 12-20 people standing around watching, talking, and asking everyone questions. There were judges asking if we were almost done because they needed the space for a PPTQ. All of this can make people make mistakes, not to mention that some people get nervous just being on camera and knowing that ANY mistake they might make will be broadcast to hundreds of viewers.*
*I'm all about constructive criticism, or helpfully point out mistakes, but please do so in a kind way.*

The comments aren't a big thing for me, but it can be pretty upsetting to be one of the players and seeing a group of strangers on the internet dumping on them. No one's perfect and I just want people to try and be a bit more considerate when pointing things out (I'm not saying you are one of those!).
I make misplays all the time. I don't mean to be mean by pointing it out - it just feels good that other people are human too. ;-)

Love your content brotha however maybe in the future upload videos with less erroneous games. I cringe on some of the egregious misplays I sometimes see.
I think that raff is a super underrated commander. He gives your creatures pseudo haste by flashing them in on end steps, and allows you to flash down a combo before your opponents know what hit them. Great vid! 👍

Deathtriggers do not appear when you send your commander to the command zone because its a replacement effect

Really happy to see Raff Capashen on Muddstah! I've been running him since he came out and I feel that being able to fire off your spells at almost any time. Looks like Artie's deck isn't even that tuned, especially compared to the other decks. Great episode!

So, this game is a masterclass in showing just how broken Necropotence and Skullclamp is. Sean basically won because he drew *way* more cards than anyone else did. I think he drew more cards than the other three combined. Necro and Skullclamp are just busted. Also Artie shoulda killed Sean rather than Alex with the Blightsteel, but that's viewing from an omnipotent position, I'm sure on the ground he had reasoning why he did so.

skull clamp is a cart that interact with creatures and so, is far from busted, it's just good. Necropotence is pretty op thought
Arthur Demarcq Delormel Nah skullclamp is broken and banned from Modern and Legacy for a reason. It’s also the best card in Teysa.
Honestly, one of my favourite parts of these videos is going down to the comments and seeing Ralsei give in-depth analyses of the most relevant cards of that game. Keep it up :D

Ryan was playing a CEDH deck sure, but blood pod is meant to play against CEDH decks. Meaning it's not that good against casual EDH creature based decks.

3:57 Sean definitely could have exiled both Ryan’s and Artic’s commanders with old Teysa. He would have had 8 White spirit tokens due to new Teysa doubling the death triggers.

Agree. Lots of misplays from Sean - grave titan, deathtriggers, not exiling his sol ring from Urza's ruinblast, and his creating tokens when he shouldnt have really gave an edge that shouldn't have been there - probably changed the outcome of this game imo
I like how you explained the combo at the end, focusing out the background and concentrating on the card. Helps for people that don't quite get every damn combo there is in Commander.
Also, do missed triggers really matter? Was money even on the line? People will nitpick but never would they put the time in to produce videos like you do.

Seriously I don't notice mistakes until after someone pointed them out. I just like to see some Commander. My friends and I screw up a lot but at the end of the day, as long as we had fun is all that will ever matter.

Teysa is an amazing commander. Only had the pleasure to play once with her so far. Can't wait to see other players on the channel play around with the deck. She might become one of my favorites 😁

Raff is NEAT. It is like having a leyline in the command zone
Fire Covenant is favorite of mine. I love to use it with Mogg Maniac when my opponent has less live then I do

At around 4:50, I'm pretty sure that's a promo avacyn's pilgrim, not an Elvish mystic. Could be wrong though.
I have an Orzhov deck that looks a lot like that one... it also has both Teysas, but the commanders are Tymna & Ravos, as the deck is more focused on recurring creatures for ETB/death trigger value than tokens. I also run the Karmic Guide/Reveillark combo, because of course. :D
So ju ned neat! You may be better off putting new teysa as the general though and tymna and Davos in sideboard simply if there are alot of death triggers. Either way dude sounds like a wicked deck

Surprised you missed that misplay by Sean with Living Plane in play. He tapped that plains he brought into play for mana to cast Grave Titan when Living Plane says he cannot do that.

Loved seeing the new Teysa being played, despite the misplays. Hopefully, CFB will add free play areas to the next GP/MF/Whatever going forward, so players don't feel rushed when playing casual games. Even if they were to start charging entry fees or something to do so.

Finally a Saheeli in the channel. Mine though has way more ramps and aims for the combo, because artifacts and Tawnos! I don't have any Eldrazis as I think they're not flavorfull with her. Nice gameplay and much love :)
@5.43, cards discarded with necropotence goes to exile, they seem to be in his grayeyard instead. Cheat count: 2. ;-)

Necropotence was not in played at that time and the exile is not a delayed trigger

One question tho: Why in the world do you(and from a little reasearch, a bunch of other people online) pronounce Gaea as Gaia? It is indeed pronounced as gay-uh (like the supercontinent Pangea) :D And I keep noticing it every time you say it...and wanted to post this comment for more than a year now. :D
I think it's because that's how I was introduced to the card, so it sticks with me. I'll try and be more mindful of it moving forward.
Out of curiosity, I always see you guys using stuff like OG duals and expensive reserved list cards like Gaea's cradle, you guy guys all own those cards or are some/all proxies? I dont mind proxies considering most people cant afford or cant justify spending several hundred dollars on single cards.
The majority of players own the actual cards. We've all been playing for a long time, and most picked them up before things got wildly expensive.
Your deck was sweet, Sean, but I have to admit I was rooting for Artie.

Unfortunate Sean had so many "misplays" that seemed to benefit him greatly throughout the game. Would've been a different outcome IMO if all the correct rulings were caught. Still a good game with some powerful spells though!
at 3:15 sean couldn't cast grave titan due to living plane giving the plains summoning sickness
First of all. I really like the background music. You should keep changing it. i know it is troublesome with the Copyright but i always enjoy the music. And the middle Part was epic.
Then i got a question. At around 13min teysa gets countered and gets treasure tokens for the cmc cost. I thought the cmc cost changes on cast. For example an X spell has cmc 0 but when i cast it for 5, the cmc is 5 as long as it is on the stack?! Am i just totally wrong there?
You're correct that X in the cost affects the CMC while on the stack, but CMC is always based on the printed cost. Additional costs and reductions don't affect it.

Question for you sir: what is your camera/overhead rig setup for these videos? Me and my friends have wanted to start up a channel with some EDH gameplay vids but aren't sure where to start and I like your formatting the most.
I rappel myself from the ceiling and hold my phone sideways to film....
In all seriousness, it's just a tripod with a selfie stick and an action camera.
I'll try the rappelling thing first, but in case that doesn't work, is action camera the copyright-free way of saying a GoPro style camera? Lol
I use a GoPro, but you can find various other brands that are similar. They're called Action Cams due to the fact that they're often used for stuff like biking / climbing / drones.

Don't see a lot of people playing Saheeli the gifted. I absolutely love her, she and krenko are my most notorious decks in the playgroup.
I think it’s because she’s redondant to the “artifact matters” strategy, which is a pretty common one. She is also not very flavorful - I don’t think many people care about Saheeli as a character.
@@plain6677 I play her as a steampunk/cthulu theme. The usual artifact shenanigans then eldrazi out of nowhere.

I run her in a 700$ deck destroys everything. Has answers for every play and sneaky af to first time opponents. I had to build a new deck because my people got sick of loosing to it. But when you can deal hundreds of thousands of damage to the whole table by the 5th turn it's understandable.
I have the same sleeves for my RaffCapashen... That was so weird.

I was there every day. I was typically right by the side-events. If you saw a little tripod setup, that was me.

Arnaldo Miyashiro It looks like it’s an almost exact copy of the Blood Pod list by the Laboratory Maniacs, that’s the most updated list I know of at the moment. Hope this helps!
Teysa Karlov seems fun and somewhat dirty, but I still love my Orzhov Scion as the true queen of the damned 😈

That's very sluggish Saheeli over there. Saheeli is an impressive fast commander, if well built. She can drop a Kozilek at turn 3 easily.

Could you play a sisay deck? It's my favorite commander and id like to see it played by someone with a higher budget than me, to look at some of the cards I could play
There is no designation to where graveyards go. Only lands.
Lands on the right, nonland on the left, grave yard top left, library bottom right and emblems down the middle. Spells must be suspended in the air until they resolve.
That's the standard formation for tournaments, or am I mistaken?
I also somettime play absurd awkard and unique cards, but if you do so you got to make sure you know what it does. For instance Living Plane. Sure it turns all lands into creatures, but that also means they all have summoning sickness. So for instance Grave Titan could not have been cast. Also not sure why the Raff Capashen Player immediately pulled the trigger on Ruinous Blast. Sure someone could destroy a land, but I think the risk is fairly low to wait on it and cast it as an Instant with Raff's ability.
Also a deck resolving around creature die effects must absolutely know that a commander moving to the command zone does NOT trigger a dies effect etc. This gets me all the time, sure not everyone can know every single rules bit, but if you play something you at a a minimum should have that under control.

Edit: It does make sense that the environment would be distracting, allowing for a lot of these mistakes to happen. Great job to the editing! The background volume is not bad at all, and lighting is still great.

Can someone explain why so many people play fire covenant? I see it pop up a lot these days.
Think of it as a one sided toxic deluge - pay life to wipe the board of all problematic creatures and get to keep any you want around
When you start with 40 life, you're much more able to withstand the cost of Covenant. So having a 3 mana, instant speed effect that ranges from 'Kill one dude' to 'Wrath board' is very good, especially if that stops a combo win.
The best part about spells like Fire Covenant and Toxic Deluge is that they’re easy to use, mana-wise, extremely flexible on how they’re used, and are not entirely situational. Sometimes you just gotta fire Covenant for 4 on a few dorks, sometimes you gotta go dangerously low.
It’s an instant! A wonderful card in some playgroup - too pricy in terms of life in others.
