Hey, I was the Ayula player in this game. To give a bit of insight. I was mainly worried about the Tesya throughout the game as my deck could reasonably stall the board against the Trostani deck, but the Teysa deck would be able to chip at me even and bring me down that way. I wanted to knock the Athreos player down some life first, to prevent him from abusing his life as resource. I probably have left the Sir Konrads alone and started to go after the Archon and Cavalier. But I was also just getting pretty flooding and wanted to make sure I was healthy when I started to hit more bears. Also, losing the ForeBEARers blade hurt a lot. The lack of trample at the time meant I was unable to get a lot of pressure through with Ayula. The fact it's a pun in the deck does hurt too.
I will always root for the bears! (got my own ayula deck :P) You deserved to win imo. You actually did a lot by using the fighting mechanic to get rid of some keypieces. gjgj
I think you did a fine job considering the difference in power between the Bear deck (which let's be honest is a fun and goofy meme deck) and the rest of the field.

I don't think he had a low profile. Other two players were disrupting/attacking Jammie while he had 6-11 creatures on board. That was 2 turns before he won.
I think it was poor threat assessement. Also dropping Cultivate from the expertise after drawing a million card and already having 8 lands should signal a BIG turn coming up from Andrew.
Whenever you play Trostani it feels like people put blinders on and let you do whatever despite stuff like Zendikar Resurgent being on the field, it's baffling.

I'll say it again thank you Andrew for this deck idea it is still one of my favorite decks to play, of course it is missing the more expensive cards (tutors and lands mostly) but then again my playgroups are much more casual where decks rarely meet the $100 threshold.

it didn't shuffle his sol ring in though. it just asked "if you could pick ANY card to put the top of library, would you still keep the artifact/enchantment that you picked with enlightened tutor?" if i had to target someone to put any card they want to top of library I would definitely pick the person who already tutored something to the top of their library. It didn't hurt him, it just didn't help him. So I say it wasn't bad manners.
This was an intense game to watch, I love watching your Trostani deck and I love it even more watching it go off and gain you a ton of life out of nowhere and winning

Tbf I'm the crazy bitch that once made an unofficial partner up for a special commander tournament of Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and The Scorpion God in a negative counters Jund monstrosity so 🤷♀️😛 and if you're wondering, while I didn't win, yes, it was pretty broken.
I would 100 % aim everything at Andrew after that second See the Unwritten. Sorry, but Teysa just can't compare the amount of pain that Trostani can do.

I don't fully understand how players ignore someone with double-mana on the field in Green/White. It's honestly baffling to me and it was so obvious that Andrew was going to win because he was being ignored.
Im gathering information for teysa karlov edh, and i just saw how jammy refused to play in a more competitive way the first turns, im at turn 4 and im liking it
As an athreos shadowborn appostle pilot myself. Josh needs to start packing secret salvage, immortal servitude & dusk//dawn. He also needs to be smarter with who he directs his athreos triggers at, he should have been able to go off waaaaaay sooner.
Lol, Andrew you were definitely the main target XD But Jammy was playing edicts, aristocrats, and tax effects that damaged the entire table which made her a target ASAP. Josh was in a rough position most of the game because everyone already knows exactly how Athreos Apostles works and no one wanted to give him any leeway to abuse the Apostles- but the best he could do was get Jammy to a low life total and constantly target her with the ability to make sure he got his stuff back- and then you killed his punching bag XD Kyle was just kind of doing their thing, but really they weren't all that impactful compared to the rest of the table. The best they had were a few combat steps and some damage slinging.
Do these people never learn the inevitability of Andrew's Trostani deck?! It's bafflingly frustrating how he keeps on getting away with his strategy of keeping his head low. Terrible threat assessment by the other players...
To be fair they were new to the channel, so they might not have the experience with his Trostani. Call it poor threat assessment or whatnot, but most players target the active threats rather than the quiet player off to the side just doing his thing. Plus, Andrew is kind of an expert at this point at flying under the radar.

As the bear player, it was a case where Teysa was the hardest deck for me to beat in the long run, and the athreos player was already pretty low. Also, giving death touch to tokens really hurts my ability to swing in.
Trostani deck seems a bit weaker and slower after a few changes that I see have been made. Still did the job and is an awesome deck that inspired my own, based on your older mold🙌🏼
I would have loved to see a bit more spot removal from the non-Trostani deck. Orzhov and green have some of the best removal out there and I didn’t see anything cast. Utter end, anguished unmaking, nature’s claim, a sweeper, anything to deal with the multiple powerful artifacts and enchantments on board could have swung the game in anyone’s favor. Maybe they are running it and didn’t draw it, but to see nothing from three players is super unlucky if that’s the case.

I dont know her hand but I feel she should of let more attacks through and forced a wipe to keep her engines going. She let alot of key pieces go to aggression that I feel would of paid off better on the field. Speaking of which Im very surprised at the lack of wipe that occurred this game.

Teysa going to the command zone is a replacement effect for dying. This means that things that trigger from creatures dying don't occur (ie: Skullclamp, Dictate, etc)
I think is to not waste others time doing nothing while you're shuffling, if you do it as show here, you can search/shuffle your deck while the other player do their thing

Teysa went to the command zone in the end and not the graveyard. This means she doesn't actually die and doesn't trigger Dictate.

5:50 shouldn't dictate of Erebos have triggered?
If your commander would die, and you send it to the command zone instead, the commander doesn't actually 'die' and so death triggers will happen.

The deck is heavily dependent on my opener / early disruption. It's more of a late game deck.

You have to target down a teysa deck, otherwise it gets out of hand FAST

She had value town for a while and even after being brought back got wrecked. Being the perceived threat yet not the actual threat sucks sometimes.
