I always loved Massey Ferguson tractors an combines. Some people would just buy a John Deree because it is a John Deree. Massey Ferguson has done their homework over the years as well .
We always ran Massey’s and always ran great. I still have 593 and a 453 both have 4x4 and Quickie loaders. I don’t care what people say, you can have issues with any color. Great looking tractor !
Down here in France we mostly use oversteer for turning in the endrows, just need a little tap on the whells then push the autosteer button and there we go. That’s impressive how much comfort and effectiveness we get from that. Nice tractor you got there 😃
Welcome to the Massey Ferguson Family! We are really excited about the products that we have put out in recent years and what products are coming in the future!
Thank you! This is going to be a fun adventure. Clearly you can see the John Deere blood In my veins. LOL People ask me how I like this tractor and I tell him after a hundred hours this winter I can't wait to get a miniature one for the hay side of the farm
@@jimmielittle877 JD doesn't make public their service manuals or computer programs. Elizabeth Warren made a big deal over it. I can see why people are upset, since we do most repairs on our equipment. But it is their property and we make the decision to buy knowing that. They have to pay for their research and that is one way. However, their shop rates are horrendous. Right to repair has driven up the prices of older models the same as glider trucks in avoiding the horrors of DEF. All the other companies will do it too. JD just gets the publicity because they are the biggest and best.... so far.

I agree there use to be Massey Ferguson dealer here in my area the last one closed up because Agco wanted them to upgrade their shop and they wanted $10,000. a year from ther dealer to sale the Massey Ferguson tractors. So Massey Ferguson had faded out from around here, until a Cat rental business started to sale Massey Ferguson tractors and equipment a few years ago. Now they are opening at a better location a Frent and Massey Ferguson dealership. Last year locally there were 13 John Deere customers that bought Massey Ferguson tractors. Up date 10/18/21 Agco selling Massey Ferguson tractors has opened up 3 new stores that I know of in my area . One is only 5 miles away . The other two are 30 miles away in opposite directions one west and one south east of my location. Not sure if they open any stores up north of me.
its my day job to setup Fendts. lol when i was at JD and Fendt came with there platform in 96 we laughed. looking back i should have jumped ship sooner!
The Massey sounds like a great idea with such good nearby service. Maybe you need to buy another from them with that kind of service. That cold start sounded like it was ready to go!!
Very nice tractor, a lot of neat features for 2013. Most of us are stuck in the 1980’s with the old Deere’s.... As our biggest tractor it is a 4640 8 Speed powershift does all the planting, with a 6 row JD7000, spreading, and grain cart in the fall. I am a true Massey man but my brother thinks otherwise. Someday i will have one just like this.
thanks. i am excited for spring time. the 4640 could only plant at 4 mph because of the hydraulic drive, i think now i could do beans a lot faster and faster headland turn arounds. also running between fields will be so much faster.
We have a Massy 8670..great transmission with V.S. and top end of 33 mph which is nice for pulling light loads, make sure you stay in slow range for heavy pulls.we pull 16 row planter with it in the spring..the deff is also a added cost and pain..have to smile though while your comparing the MF to a JD 4640 cost wise as the interest on your money alone would hardly make up for the savings you mentioned..but you do have a very nice tractor that will get the job done..best of luck in your farming operation
Thanks Hope yours is treated you well! I am very excited for next spring. I got this thing for a song and a dance compared to what they were going for on TractorHouse. It had a water leak under the hood the three-point didn't want to cooperate and the transmission wouldn't control very well in pedal mode. Then we're good negotiating points for me and when I got home I did a pedal calibration which took all of seven seconds that has worked beautiful oh, did a three point calibration that took 5 minutes and that now works great and the leak under the hood is where the radiator hose goes into the thermostat housing I suppose the inside of the house is getting a little crusty or the thermostat housing the paint itself is getting a little weird so I just kind of cleaned it a little bit and Peyton the hose clamp and hopefully it will seal. This spring before planting I will do transmission and hydraulic oil front and rear axles. I did engine oil fuel filters and air filter this weekend that is a pretty nice tractor for service Weis very easy. The service tech laughs because for the price I got it for I could do the engine the transmission and put row crop tires on it and still be money ahead from buying one on TractorHouse
@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 ..ok! now that sounds like a great deal and shows it really pays to be able to do repairs yourself in exchange for the lower price and makes the savings verse's the 4640 look better..we had some minor transmission, computer problems but was repaired fast and the tractor was still under warranty..if you ever have a machine that needs sharping up (paint) I made my Agco DT 240A look like new again this spring with my own labor and a product called Dakota Shine with a cost of just $150.,if you want to check it out, Machinery Pete featured it his facebook page in Nov. Hopefully our nice winter will continue and we will be in the fields with our Massy's before you know it..God's blessings to you and yours
Zimmerman your right! Their great on fuel an good power, to many people are blind to try something different, but what they don't know if Massey's can run right with the top tractors an above!!
@john mcgee that's where you are confused. Says fendt right on the casting on the side of the trans. You never owned or worked on one did you? The 8600 and 8700 series has the fendt ML260 trans. The 7600 and 7700 have the ML180

Much better ride Your ABSOLUTELY RIGHT that JD dealerships parts and service is at walmart customer service levels! If u can get ahold of a JD service manager that actually knows what u want... Never have the parts at 1 store! JD dealerships have spread out parts over too many locations. I'll be curious how u like the service from AGCO... Hopefully you don't need it! Lol. Congrats!
Lol so excited for spring, i have already sat in it pretending to plant! Yeah the 4640 wasnt bad doing hard work but it was the same fuel rate doing nothing.
My son has a 2019 JD 6120M and it uses a lot of fuel per hour 4 to 5 gallons. My 1990 Massey Ferguson 3070 92hp 4cly turbo will use while working 2 1/2 to 3 gallons of fuel per hour. My JD 5320 64hp 3 cly turbo while working uses 2 1/2 to 3 gallons per hour the same as my larger Massey Ferguson 3070.
Really love your tractor, and I can see you do too!! How do I get in to farming enough to be able to afford one of those! I just bought a 2850E, there honestly wasn't a John Deere at any dealer in the south east, and Kuboto had a couple of mangy dogs on the lot... The Massey dealer had a full selection and even worked with me on the price, and no one anywhere will say my Massey isn't significantly better than the same John Deere or Kuboto pretender. Its nice to see the Massey is kicking tail in the Big Tractors too.
nice! massey on them smaller tractors is a fantastic class leader in most categories. buy land or do custom work. but is that what you really want to do? i look at the people in Mn that are making a living off a small farm running small equipment, no combine and heads, no corn planter and all that equipment, just livestock and hay equipment. i will never give up the crops but next year i am moving half the farm out of row crops.
My dad had serval tractor brands back in the 1950s Allis Chambers and Ford and Farmall. Then in the 1960's he switched to Massey Ferguson's and stayed with Massey's until 2006 when he retired. Till this day Massey is my favorite I have a 1990 3070 Massey Ferguson 92hp cab loader 2wd. And a IMT 539 which is identical to the 35 Massey Ferguson. I like many of the other brands I also own a 5320 John Deere cab loader. I love seeing the older classic tractors working no matter the brand. Today Massey has some of the best looking tractors on the market. I test drove a new 4710 handle like a dream with plenty of power. May consider getting one some day. Massey has always been a leader when it came to fuel efficiency even with the Perkins Diesel engine. I am amazed what fuel efficient my Massey's 4 cly Perkins 4.236ci 3.9L turbo gets the same fuel efficiency as my John Deere's 3 cly turbo and my Massey is a much bigger and heavier tractor. Enjoyed your video with all the technology that your Massey has you got a beautiful tractor.
We can all be honest and say that we love the reliability of Japanese products. Honda is a prime example. Rock Solid and dependable with great service all around the country. Iseki is a Japanese company that has been around for a long long time. Massey engines and drivetrain transmission all manufactured by Iseki. Complete tractor actually I believe. Except for the tires. The attention to detail and the Innovations over the last 10 years have been A Step Above John Deere and other manufacturers in my opinion. The reliability is there and you can get parts all around the country. And nowadays it's very easily to get most things shipped directly to you if you can't go and pick it up yourself. I will be sticking with Massey. Great video and amazing capabilities on that tractor.
It is true that Agco farmed out the manufacture of some small 3 and 4 cylinder tractors to Iseki, the larger tractors are built in France using engines built in Finland. The Finland engine plant was the Valmet plant, then was acquired by Sisu engines which was then acquired by Agco who has invested in newer technologies and quality, and grown the manufacturing capability. The CVT transmission was actually designed by Fendt of Germany, which was acquired by Agco. These transmissions and engines are by far more advanced, more fuel efficient and built to a higher quality then most of what Deere is building now. In the USA now, you will notice some slow spreading growth of Agco Massey Ferguson dealers, mainly because many farmers are realizing what these machines will do in the fields , realizing the increase of efficiencies, and at the same time receive better service, and competitive pricing on parts and equipment.
I Agree,I have 2 6485s with I Use for contracting and hire.1,my 7495 Which No one else only myself drives.Yours is a lot newer and a Bit bigger than mine,Beautiful machine.you have a new subscriber!
To hear you say you the Agco Tractor is better than the comparable Deere's is a surprise I run a challenger version 2018 year with the CVT. Its a great tractor for loader work and working on a cattle operation but my employees hate the cab and controls compared to the Magnums. Hopefully i will get my hands on a Kubota M8 soon to see how their CVT works
buttons and comfort are opinion. the Sisu engine and trans have been rock solid. i remember when deere we would send a new tractor out and it was good for thousands of hours. now you see a lot of low hour machines with new engines, trans or axle work. would be neat to see the Kubota. dad and i went to a farm show and of course we went to deere booth. then we went to massey and kubota and Claas booth. every year deere drops on my list. this from a kid that used to use the firepower brochure to read for bedtime stories!
Just came across your channel. Love it so far. I too am from MN, Middle River area. However, I am currently in the Navy and will be starting from scratch when I retire here in a few years. Keep it up.

@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 Thank you for your support. Not too far from Drayton. My family goes all over since my father owns a cattle hauling business up there. you dont need a nice case 2290 that just needs a cylinder liner replaced, good straight tractor. guy is not sure what to do, if it doesnt sell as is this summer this winter i will pop in the liner for him.
I have always said you buy the dealer and take whatever he/she's selling, modern tractors are more or less all capable bar you get unlucky, they will all break down sooner or later so to have an excellent service is far more important than the colour of the machine, of course price is important we all live in the real world but the fact is most of them are in or around the same price give or take 5 percent so you buy the dealer.
He makes me really like this Massey. I don't understand his winter hrs prob and why he uses the 4630 when this is such a dream. 33 mph with big bales front and rear would be good.
Thanks. Dont want to put to many hours in winter because i dont want to rack up hours. I am going to make a 3 bale rear spear for moving bales! If i use it in the winter i want to make sure it gets warmed up good!
I agree about the 806. That Massey sure is nice, but where will it be in 50 years? Not knocking the Massey, but none of the modern tractors will hold up like the ones from the '60s and '70s, too much crap to go wrong and too expensive to fix when it does. That 806 will do just as much work in a day's time as a brand new tractor of comparable HP, you may sacrifice a little comfort, but you won't break down just because of some mystery fault code.
I run older tractors myself a1989 IMT 539 ; a 1990 Massey Ferguson 3070 and a 2004 John Deere 5320. It's nice when your not making payments. When they break fix them and keep them going. But the new ones sure is nice.
That’s pretty awesome parts 24 hours a day, dealer support has been a tough one for me and being a big John Deere supporter without getting into details I’ve recently had something bad happen with John Deere and I have been considering switching myself to another brand the problem is we don’t have any other dealers but John Deere and Kubota so it’s a tough one for me but dealer support is big, nice tractor congratulations👍🚜
There is no doubt that this range has come a long way in a comparatively short time. In addition they have an increasingly good reputation for very good fuel efficiency.
That’s a going to town tractor ! Nice upgrade Jon. Closest thing I ever ran to a trans like that (reverser ? Non dry clutch) was a 6420 Deere. Commercial snow plowed with it, once you get the timing down it was slick!
We have massey and fendt ! And good dealer near by . We did look to trade our jd loader tractor for another jd . But them deere sales guys have there head so far up there ass . Never looking back love the vario transmissions
There are a few Masseys around us and everyone seems to love them. Good dealer too. Tough to beat the simplicity of the old tractors but the efficiency of the newer ones seem to outweigh that!
Question: whats the smallest tractor that Massey makes that has all these nice options? Cvt transmission in particular. Looking on tractor house the 5xxx series all have a dyna 4 transmission and look very basic compared to this one.
in challenger i think you can get 400 series with it? so would 5600 series be able to find one in? i would like the next tractor to be a 7700 series. kind of fun to do 2000 acres with a couple mfwd tractors someday.
@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 that would be fun. There are a number of farmers looking for bigger 4wd tractors for tillage and I’m over here looking for the smallest and lightest tractor to pull the 6 row around for planting!
We farm witt 12 Massey Ferguson tractors here in central Wisconsin. I was told that Massey is the only tractor that the horsepower is the right horsepower.
Cool to see a newer rig that ain’t Case IH or Deere. Hope that thing doesn’t have too many electronic bugs down the road for ya. You sure make all those controls seem smooth to operate. Does this one have a bunch of emissions stuff like DEF? Also seen your comment above about the JD Firepower brochure, I collect a lot of those brochures. It’s some of my favorite reading material. I’ve considered making some videos going through those things to share with others.
YES! Now I don't have to be 1 of 2 lonely operators on youtube who have one of these tractors (SLC Farms), but you got us beat on the HP. That one annoy thing of revving up to 1200 RPM to "deice" the DEF bugs the heck out of me yet, sucks for starting the bale processor initially for warming up. Wondering how that transmission handles the cold temps... one reason I preferred the dyna6, though did hear the dvt works well for loaderwork too (other reason was pricetag, it was unbeatble). Yea, the coldstarts are boring on these newer machines, but that's fine by me LOL!
glad to join the club! after supporting Fendt tractors and seeing the Fendt influence in this tractor i think it will be fun. its funny not one person said it will be nie on the dmi. everyone said how great is that going to be on the baler! your dyna 6 is a beautiful setup, after using this tractor for 3 bales of hay i cant wait to get more things paid off to get a smaller 6700 or 7700 small frame to take over hay and help with row crops. my goal is to have a couple nice mfwd tractors to run 2000 acres efficiently vs big articulate tractors.
@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 I’m guessing this is a dyna vt? We’ve loved our Massey tractors. Gotta have a good dealer though. We have the dyna step, but rented the dyna vt for a summer. Also rented one with dyna 6. Liked it too! Like others have said, our Deere dealer just wants to sell lawn mowers. Have to go another 45 minutes to get one that will touch ag equipment.
Looks good if I wasn't a blue man I'd have a red. Put the loader on it now unless it's going to bankrupt you do it now you won't regret it. And don't just say I want to save that money for something else no if you financed it through agco you can likely go back and add the cost of the loader into your payment probably works out to like 3k a year and with farming what's 3k in the end. Keep it real!
funny you say that. the day after i brought it home an add popped up with loader mounts for this tractor for sale. it would be nice to find a loader for it. at this point i have to keep the 4640 and 4430 for moving bales for now. cant wait for the day i can add another smaller massey or even twin to this one.!
Looks like a nice upgrade!! I agree way better upgrade then a 4960. Pulling wagons is a poor comparison on savings. A semi and hopper would have been cheaper and faster. Hope you have good luck with it

Jon, it's your money to spend it the way you like. I am going to take a wild guess and say the 46 payment is 0 per year though. Glad that you got a new tractor.

Agco has offered more for your dollar for sometime. Problem here 1.5 hr away so that kills 3 hr's of the day. I been dealing with a IH dealer since the 80's and been good but some of this new stuff with all the buttons and lights just suck and don't matter what color. Breakdowns not hundreds they thousands and still making payments.
thats the scary part. making a big annual payment and a big repair bill . if my annual budget was just a little bigger i could have gotten a new versatile just takes longer to pay off.
It was a total disaster too. They are horribly expensive to overhaul and it is not uncommon for them to go to hell. They are also terribly inefficient in the speeds used for tillage. A 4455 QR range puts the same HP to the ground as a 4555 PS in the tillage speed ranges.
I really like that tractor. Everything is in easy reach in the can. Looks very ergonomic. How comfortable is the seat? It’s great that you have excellent dealer support after the sale. That’s so important. Best of luck with her!!!
Yes some of the very early ones you could have had a nightmare. It's kind of fun to see the excitement around the new ones. 5 years ago on an agricultural forum if you mentioned Massey they just laughed you out of there
When I am moving round bales about three gallon an hour, planting would be about 4, hard work can spike as high as 13. Most of the time I refill it's about 4-5 gph average. That is incredible!
I would love to take one apart. I have seen the price and its a lot more than the old powershift and quad. This is 265 hp but they used this chassis up to 370 hp.
@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 yes I have heard that same thing about the Sisu engine it's a Finnish word so it must be good lol that is my Finlander opinion. Alot of logging machines use the Sisu engine and they seem to hold up well. Very neat tractor! Lots of cool features if you have the patience to set them all up. Congrats on the new toy!
its my day job to setup Fendts. lol when i was at JD and Fendt came with there platform in 96 we laughed. looking back i should have jumped ship sooner!
The Massey sounds like a great idea with such good nearby service. Maybe you need to buy another from them with that kind of service. That cold start sounded like it was ready to go!!
If this one works out well I will for sure get another one from Ziegler.
This is replacing my 4640! I just replaced the 7000 planter in 2017 season. Small world!
@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 Would you recommend the White 12 row?
I just found your channel. That looks a really nice tractor, I hope it does you good service.
Me to. Lol
Nice upgrade. Can’t beat a Massey man, you get more tractor for your buck IMO.
Looks like a nice upgrade. I'm a firm believer in upgrading when you can before everything is junk. You will definitely like it for planting.
thanks. i am excited for spring time. the 4640 could only plant at 4 mph because of the hydraulic drive, i think now i could do beans a lot faster and faster headland turn arounds. also running between fields will be so much faster.
No doubt about it ....#1 tractor in the world.....MASSEY FERGUSON.
Thanks
Hope yours is treated you well!
You have a good Christmas I'll check out that Dakota shine!
I have two of these. You'll like it. Sisu is the most fuel efficient engine on the market, fendt cvt is best transmission. Makes a very nice tractor.
Zimmerman your right! Their great on fuel an good power, to many people are blind to try something different, but what they don't know if Massey's can run right with the top tractors an above!!
Chasing fendt during the day and now having one at home is nice! Its built like a beast.
Our biggest problems with the masseys are with the hydraulic couplers.

@john mcgee that's where you are confused. Says fendt right on the casting on the side of the trans. You never owned or worked on one did you? The 8600 and 8700 series has the fendt ML260 trans. The 7600 and 7700 have the ML180

New work toys r fun! Just finally found/got the 2011 JD8435RT IVT with an air ride for the tracks I've been looking for, no Def!!! And My back thanks me. Lol. Congrats!

John deere dishes in my cupboard weren't telling you anything 😂
The loader I added to mine makes the tractor. Its awesome in the hay field
I cant wait to get one like yours to replace the 4430. Thanks for stopping!
Very nice toy Jon. Planting is going to be fun next spring.
And lets face it, the old John Deeres weren't known for their fuel efficiënty
Nice!
I don't know how massey does it. The 8660 is 275 pto hp, lifetime fuel usage is 3.8 gph. Wow!
Nice tractor! We bought a 2014 MF 8660 in May with 700 hours.
nice, hardly broke in with them hours! hope it treats you well!
Great change one of the most economical and powerful tractors on the market, the model shown is before it was incorporated into the s effect range.
Yep, with the cost of farm equipment a farmer needs a good deal.
“I was looking at a John Deere because that’s what the plates in my cupboard say I should do”. 😂 I’m the same way with my motorcycle. Damn branding.
Ha yep. Have a love hate relationship with paris.
Massey dealer closest to me is 55 miles away. I have a deere in my town. I really would like to have a massey preferably. Nice Video!!

I bought a 5710. So far it has been a true Rockstar of a tractor.
Nice! What chores are you doing with it?
I have always said you buy the dealer and take whatever he/she's selling, modern tractors are more or less all capable bar you get unlucky, they will all break down sooner or later so to have an excellent service is far more important than the colour of the machine, of course price is important we all live in the real world but the fact is most of them are in or around the same price give or take 5 percent so you buy the dealer.
And a relative of my childhood, Allis Chalmers
The exciting thing about following all your TH-cam channels is the progression. Congratulations
Thanks Ted!
If i use it in the winter i want to make sure it gets warmed up good!
great video, you pay for the paint. nice Massey, looks very high tech. I will stick with the farmall 806
thanks! have the 350 and H farmall to motor around on!
Yep massey is very cool from the cab at the winter time..
I have an 8735 Massey Ferguson, it cranked and pulled joy stick back, it cut off and now will not crank?
Great video, very nice tractor and a very good little tractor to go with that one I say look at a massey ferguson 4710

I’m not in love with green, but they are the only dealers around me.
We had a Agco dealer in our area recently go out of business because of slow sales in southern Minnesota. Jd and Cih dealers are everywhere.
I made the same switch last winter, dumped the deere front wheel assist for a Massey. Way more tractor for less money!
Nice! Hope it's treated you well. I'll be putting up videos on how to do basic calibrations on these tractors as well.
Nice machine for sure I would buy one I think lol green is addictive
That is a nice tractor, and the dealer support sounds awesome. To many electronic functions for me though lol
Our experience with Massey was good until the hydraulics went out. The cost was to repair was so outlandish that we had to get rid of them
de hydraulics are shit
There is no doubt that this range has come a long way in a comparatively short time. In addition they have an increasingly good reputation for very good fuel efficiency.
its fun seeing some the European influence and features to make little things so much easier.
No question, most fuel efficient engine on the market
wish you luck with the MF, we went away from them in the 1970's and never looked back, still running a strong JD4630, good luck

Lindstrom equipment your dealer?
Cool to see a newer rig that ain’t Case IH or Deere. Hope that thing doesn’t have too many electronic bugs down the road for ya. You sure make all those controls seem smooth to operate. Does this one have a bunch of emissions stuff like DEF?
Also seen your comment above about the JD Firepower brochure, I collect a lot of those brochures. It’s some of my favorite reading material. I’ve considered making some videos going through those things to share with others.
It has Def but not a filter like the others.

Yeah that's always a concern with these new engines now. my Ram got deleted because they wanted $1,000 for One sensor and they already did two of them under warranty and this would have been the first one out of warranty and I thought holy crap so I deleted it.
I'm going to do the preventive maintenance program on this one so every several hundred hours you get an oil scan done and they can have one of the service tax on his way home swing in plug a laptop in look for any codes and deal with it

wo wo wo john deere 15 speed powershift was out before the mag got going
It was a total disaster too. They are horribly expensive to overhaul and it is not uncommon for them to go to hell. They are also terribly inefficient in the speeds used for tillage. A 4455 QR range puts the same HP to the ground as a 4555 PS in the tillage speed ranges.
uBut Deere didn't keep that design. They went with something more like CaseIH. I suppose that's because they bought the Funk transmission company.

It's kind of fun to see the excitement around the new ones. 5 years ago on an agricultural forum if you mentioned Massey they just laughed you out of there
How much diesel is required for this tractor in one hour👍
When I am moving round bales about three gallon an hour, planting would be about 4, hard work can spike as high as 13. Most of the time I refill it's about 4-5 gph average. That is incredible!
Sounds cool till it starts having electrical problems ! Hope you have good luck with it!👍

Yes. I would love one like yours with a loader up front to be a compliment to this tractor as I keep growing the farm
Excellent video keep up the great videos 👍👍👍👍that looks like a nice tractor what engine is used in that tractor
Sisu. Talked to a lot of people about it and they said they are amazing and solid.
@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 yes I have heard that same thing about the Sisu engine it's a Finnish word so it must be good lol that is my Finlander opinion. Alot of logging machines use the Sisu engine and they seem to hold up well. I know that they are way easier on fuel then the John Deere diesel engine in the 30 and 40 50 55 60 series are horrible fuel pigs . The one farm that I work for was chisel plowing with a 4840 John Deere and he was bragging about how cheap it ran so I said let's fuel it up before he went to the field and we figured out it's fuel consumption was just over 12 gallons a hours I told him that it is way to expensive to run with the size of chisel plow he was pulling
I guess You found out what Massey - Ferguson really means (MIGHTY-FINE) TRACTORS & that is a M-F 8450 .Thanks for the video.
Also know as Mr fixit. Herd the newer ones are better
@@leestadnyk5573 I do not know that to be true, as all I know is based on my 1st tractor that I bought used a 1959 M-F 50 & yes it is old school ! & a gasser & the only thing I did to make it more modern was put a electronic ignition in it ( points suck ) Pertronics, & I use this tractor year round for over 20yrs with no major issues! this led me to buy a brand new, in 2018 a M-F 1526 with 4x4 & a front loader & this is my 1st diesel ( paid cash ) mainly to work with my 1 ton dump truck & all the other stuff the 50 was not design to do, but like the the M-F 50 the M-F 1526 easy to work on ,basic P M's & that is what I look for in a tractor.Granted these are not as complex as the bigger tractors & a lot less electronics, but if you follow Massey -Ferguson history they just don't throw a new tractor out there to compete with other manufactures they test & research.
@@ACF6180T you missed in between there were a lot of generations of tractors with poorly designed controls and with really poor engines. As I said I think the newer tractors have come a long way
@@leestadnyk5573 The only thing I can say to that is all manufactures fall into that category & I'm under the belief that that if you take care of your equipment , it will take care of you & I know of no one that had a Massey-Ferguson not swear by them & not at them. But I digress! all manufactures lost in the late 70's & early 80's to quality control & ( IMHO) due to unions & gov't regulations.
@@ACF6180T the 86 series ih and the 40 series JD were great tractors.during those years. In my opinion jd have gone way to electronic now way to expensive to fix and lack the ease of the farmer to work on their own machines. Case in those yeards were also unreliable garbage
Jesus ,you got to be a computer genius just to farm now I'd never figure all that shit out, till the seed rotted sitting in planter in the field if I could even make it to the field
Dad is 76 and caught on pretty quick. i setup the stuff so he just has to hit a specific button. i have also used his phone to record doing some things so he can just look at his phone!
I feel like I need a reason to buy a tractor 😂
Nice👍👍👍
Does it have a fridge? I’d like a flip up buddy seat with a crapper under it!
Lol!
Yes it does! He may not have found it yet.
vale mas la pintura de el johon deere que el massey fergusson entero.....
From green to red. Would you ever get an older ford? I hear those are loads of power at a reasonable price.
You know them old 8970 generation Fords were tremendous tractors. I actually thought about one of them because they're they're just a great tractor. This Massey was a rare find it wasn't much different money then them older Fords.
@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 I was personally thinking more in the TW series, but yeah that does look pretty nice. I'm sure your red Bess will serve very well on the farm, but maybe a shade of blue in the future wouldn't hurt ;)
The old tw series were solid machines. That woild have been the same as moving to a 50 series deere for me.
