    Today I’ll tell you about the 2-circle and 3-circle skirts.
    I’m going to show you how to make a 2-circle skirt and also tell you how to make a 3-circle skirt.
    I think that this is a very useful tutorial because such skirts are not sold in the shops.
    If you decide to make a long 2-circle skirt, you’ll have to make it not of the 2 circles, but of the 4 half-circles.
    When making a circle or 2-circle skirt, don’t try to put the cut detail on a piece of fabric and cut around it. You will never make a good item this way. It’s much better to draw a new one.
    You can make a concealed zipper in a side seam - it’s up to you.
    If you do everything accurately, all the details will match.
    I don’t show you how to fix the mistakes, because I don’t make them.
    I’ll also tell you about the 3-circle skirt.
    My name is Paukshte Irina.

    You're a great teacher👍 I made some beautiful skirts for my granddaughters they absolutely love them, they twirl around and dance in them they say "oh Grandma they're so pretty". Thank you. But you deserve the credit thank you so much for taking the time for teaching us, I wish I knew how to post the pictures to show you them, nevermind I found you on Facebook😊

    *Tips/explanation.*
    The length of your skirt determines how much fabric you need.
    If your skirt length x2 plus the radius x2 is longer than the width of your fabric, then you will need to do 2x half circles instead of circle.
    This means 4 half circles for a 2 circle skirt or 6 half circles for a 3 circle skirt.
    Add a little bit of seam allowance before you cut, but it doesn't matter so much because of when you sew the waistband and zip on.
    You will NEED a zip, or stretchy fabric (which I do not recommend but it's up to you)
    Heavier woven fabric tends to sit nicer.

      Hi! Can you please explain why would we need 4 half circles to create a 2 circle skirt? I am a teenager trying to learn these things on my own so it'd be really helpful if you can tell me about it!

      Hi ! It's me again! Can you please explain a little more?

    • @TanyaRyle
      @TanyaRyle 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Mini Kaur its because you can't get a longer length out of 36 in fabric... the max you can make long length is a 1/2 circle. So for a long full circle you have to make 1/2 and then there other 1/2. 1/2 circle + 1/2 circle= 1 full circle. For a double (2) circle skirt you'll need to make 4 half circles (1/2 × 4 = 2)

    Brilliant video. I wondered if you could explain how to calculate the waist measurement when making a 3 circle skirt with a pleated waist, making the bottom circumference 3 times bigger?
    I have seen a video where they divide the skirt into equal panels and then divide those panels into 3 (making two pleats per panel) but they didn’t say how to calculate the extra waist circumference.

    Been so long since I used some of this elementary secondary school maths no longer taught, to make something from scratch that I almost forgot about, like good old Pi and all that stuff about areas and circumference, diameters, radii of circles etc and how to do such simple basic calculations manually. But it's all coming back now, with motivation to use them, if I want to make something, cook something , calculate something. Useful math skills for all females to be able to do without a computer or calculator, just switch on brain. You can use these skills to do fast mental math at eg check outs, to check you are not being ripped off etc. It's great. . We hated all this math as girls in high school, though I was OK at it and I liked geometry, because it was so artistic looking, unlike cryptic algebra, boring graphs and trigonometry that I could do OK but which I never fully understood and dismissed as stuff for men at sea or the army, not me. Arithmetic calcs were easy enough. We see now, as women, how such math skills can be very useful, even for a woman who never bothers with a career. She can use them to make things, like the sort of skirt one can never find in shops but which is often used in costuming eg your kids dance shows etc or simply if you want to design a unique fashion item for yourself or to start a home based fashion production industry to make money without neglecting your kids and home by going to a workplace each day to make extra money.Sadly, modern day education focuses more on teaching girls or boys how to change their gender than how to do useful things requiring skills like math or language with the perfectly normal, OK and functioning ge der they were assigned at birth by Mother Nature. They need to put away all the technology, calculators etc and teach them how to do this stuff manually, to understand it, then use technology later on, for speed and ease when necessary. Trouble is I can bet your current era everyday high school teacher couldn't even tell you what Pi represents numerically, or even that it is a letter of the Greek alphabet. So, what is there of kids ever being taught such useful, basic things as simple math calculations?!? Sad state. Glad I have no kids. But, if I did, no way would I entrust their education and development to the current education system. I would form a community of like minded concerned parents and we would raise them home schooled, with different parents taking different lessons in things they know. No uni degrees etc necessary to teach, though I do have these. Obviously, if some parent is academic, they teach the intellectual stuff but sporty fathers can take physical training, creative mums can teach kids art, dance, music etc. I don't know why more concerned parents don't do this? Someone just said it is because they want the money from 2 incomes and kids are a nuisance, but schools are like free babysitting services while they both have careers. Probably explains why parents go crazy every time there is a teacher strike, conference or whatever and the school cannot mind their kids for them for free and so they must do it themselves, take time off work etc. If parents educated their own kids at home, they would be much happier families, with safer, better raised kids actually learning useful life stuff and it would cost a lot less, too eg all those stupid unnecessary school excursions teachers take kids on, mainly so they can avoid the work of actually teaching kids and still keep them amused. All that techology teacher hook kids up to, under the guise of learning, when it is just a very clever classroom management ploy. To plug them into a gizmo and then they get so absorbed and addicted to whatever learning game that they don't run amok. Yes, it controls them alright. But they grow up with controlled brains, incapable of critical or independent thought so you can tell them anything and they will buy it, no matter how crazy what yo tell them is. Because computers do not teach you to think. They think for you, but, ultimately, whoever controls the system Co trol your brain. Hence the sorry state of current society and mindless millennial with all their gizmos.

    • @nekochii911
      @nekochii911 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You would have to make the waist measurements for the back panel larger and then gather it down into the correct measures. I believe that bustle skirts were made from rectangle skirts, but I could be wrong.

      Hello. Knit fabric is stretchy. This kind of skirt has lots of weight to it and it will pull stretchy fabric a lot. You’ll never be able to straighten the bottom of this skirt if it is made out of knit fabric.

    I'm really confused of how you fold the fabric.? Please tell me how? I can't proceed to cutting if I don't know how you fold it..
