Today we continue talking about sleeves.
I'm going to show you how to make butterfly sleeves.
Such sleeves used to be very popular! I think that they are very beautiful.
I show you so many types of sleeves because I want to help you be different!
You know that I like interesting and unusual designs.
It’s not easy to work with organza.
I’ll pin the sleeve to a dummy to show you how it looks like.
Do not be afraid of such sleeves. You can line them, stitch them with an overlocker, edge them like you usually edge any other sleeves.
Such a sleeve will look absolutely different if it’s made of some other fabric. The technique is the same.
You can also make such sleeves of several layers of fabric, they will look amazing.
Remember that practice makes perfect. Try edging such sleeves differently - use different seams and different techniques.
    My name is Paukshte Irina.

Your instruction goes further when showing how to attach differently. You have
demystified how the second center approximates to the first. I made a doubled silk sleeve
using your pattern technique making 2 layers...Outer layer with a smaller circumference,
attaching to underarm curve together, for easier control. It was stunning thanks to you!

You are amazing ma'am. I always love watching your videos because they are educating and interesting to watch.
Ma'am, I noticed you didn't measure the radius of the armhole from the centre of the circle. You start measuring with the compass some few centimeters from the center. How many centimeters did you measure away from the center of the circle before you measure the radius? Thanks for sharing.

    • @mandime4798
      @mandime4798 4 ปีที่แล้ว

The center of the smaller circle is one radius down from the center of the full circle along a grain line.

It's a standard figure for the radius of a full circle which is 6.28. You divide the round sleeve by 6.28 to get the radius of the circle.

Hello. The only formula we used is r=L/2n, r-radius, L- armhole circumference, n=3,14.
