I’ve never heard of fishing line to plump up a hem, so that’s an interesting new trick to try. I’m in the middle of designing kind of a rainbow multi-tiered skirt and had planned to use horsehair braid, but worried about it making the layers scratchy. The fishing line might be a softer option. I do use invisible thread for my sheer fabrics, and it feels like fishing line to me. I don’t know if I have the patience to try it both ways though! I am also trying to figure out how to eliminate the bulk on the waistband but don’t see how to get around that.
I’ve used the fishing line trick before but I don’t remember where I learned that trick. I didn’t feel like the horsehair braid was scratchy but it was never against my skin on the skirt. The raw ends were scratchy but you can cover them. I don’t recommend getting as far along with the hemming as I did before changing your mind, that was not fun. Maybe try a few small tests for hem ideas?
Um making my own wedding dress, and the final skirt shoqs here is EXACTLY what I was looking for! You made the final purple petticoat out of a double circle skirt right? (Edit for a typo)

the dog walking over the taped-together pattern was so real 😂
She's still doing it!
I saw the corset video on TH-cam shorts, then watched the corset video, and now I’m hooked on this. The petticoat looks so cool!
Thanks! I absolutely love how it came out!

This is gorgeous, I'm taking so much inspiration from you for my own wedding dress 😁
Thanks! I hope yours goes smoothly! I was very stressed
magnificient! I am sure your dress will look wonderful by the end of it all!
Thank you! I'm really happy with how it came out!
Beautiful! This petticoat kinda reminds me of the one on Cinderella's dress in the 2015 movie! 👀💖
Thank you! I made that one too! It's way bigger than this one though
You could have let the pink petticoat for another project and made another petticoat candela way it's much easier 😊
Also in maybe next project install a smaller size of fishing line in Babin that gives much volume to the ham
That is am amazing Petticoat!!!!
Thanks!! 😁
how many layers of organza did you end up doing in the end? 3? Dark, medium, white? Or was there a couple layers each?
There's 2 of the dark purple and one of the orchid and ivory layers so 4 total

It's the same pattern as the other layers but longer. Good luck with yours!
