Good evening everyone and thanks for popping over for this weeks recipe video....this is such a good recipe! Please do give it a go 😋
Thank you for doing this recipe! I appreciate you taking the feedback. This looks amazing for a tea with maybe some chips or potatoes. Yumm!
For U.S. folks, "corn flour" is "corn starch" and we don't have "double cream" but our "heavy whipping cream" is close enough. Looks FABULOUS, Cheryl! :)
@@buckwheathikes1261 😂😂😂
Thank you! 🥰
Thank you! Google told me it was Masa Mexican corn flour😂
You could also use evaporated milk (be sure it is NOT sweetened condensed milk) in a 50/50 mix with water.
@@buckwheathikes1261 We also have Chicken Pie that contains carrots and peas , you Heathens learned that from the UK. 😉🤣But this isn't a Chicken pie recipe it's a pastry or pasty.
Moved from Glasgow to Romania and miss my Greggs chicken bake.
Trying this now to introduce to my wife and son.
Deeelish! You can use chive cream cheese also. Adds great flavor!
Oh that sounds good
The garlic cream cheese as well.
Those potatoes look heavenly
USA here. That looks delicious.
Looks delicious 😅 Greetings from England 😄 Have a great day everyone 🌻
Gregg’s sausage rolls are addictive!
Just found your channel today. My wife is from Glasgow, and she heard your voice and asked what I was watching. Just knocked up 3 individual ones of this with the same ingredients and they are absolutely TOP DRAWER! Looks like a steak pie for New Year's lol
Thank you for this wonderful recipe! Watching from Minnesota, USA.
Looks delish. Maybe I am just used to pot pies, but I think my family would need a few more veggies added.
It would be served with veggies is eaten at home together with potatoes in any form
Braw looking roasters🏴
Followed your recipes from Bangkok to now Haiti. Thank you ever so much.
That will be great in cooler weather! Thanks for sharing ❤
Love a chicken bake
Same 😄👍
I basically never cook but I made this dish today and it was really easy and very tasty! Thanks for sharing and greetings from Germany 😊
Can’t wait to make this meal!
Wow-I’ve got my Sunday dinner take care of! Thanks from Minnesota USA.
I’m from the US and a new subscriber love your recipes!
Ah thank you so much!! Welcome ☺
I made this today and my roommate and house cleaner went completely Gaga over it! It was so good! I did it exactly as you made it and just added some chopped parsley for color! Thank you for another delicious recipe! So easy to make and outstanding! Gonna try meat pies next! Just got my small baking pans from Amazon! Ta!
This is very similar to a favorite hand pie recipe I enjoy in the fall. I'll have to add some cream cheese in place of the creamy brie next time I put it all together and see how it goes.
Cheryl, just a suggestion honestly, not a criticism at all. LOVE the channel.
Buy whole chicken breasts and poach them like you do in Meals Of The Week. Then make the sauce with stock & cornflour and stir in the chopped breast. Cheaper than buying the chicken fillets. And you don't need to worry about the breast being slightly under done. It'll finish cooking in the pastry parcel, which goes in the oven way above the temperature that any nasties can survive.
With love.
This looks so amazing! Will definitely have to attempt this!
I'm definitely going to be having this soon. Thanks Cheryl ❤
That looks absolutely delicious, especially for a nice wintertime meal. I love your recipes Cheryl, always easy and delicious 🤗
I cheat and use a tin of Princess Chicken In White Sauce, with a wee twist of black pepper 😊
That works really well! 😋👍
Looks delicious. Will definetely be making this. Thanks for another great recipe
Cheryl! Looks delicious, thanks for sharing! 😋❤
Looks gorgeous, I can’t wait to try it xx
I'll try this on Sunday! It looks wonderful!
Let us know how you get on:)
This looks fantastic. Thanks for the inspiration ❤🌻
Lovely recipe. Looks delicious! Thanks for sharing. 😊
It looks delicious, and I'll be giving this one a try.
Tried this tonight making individual ones. They went down really well with my family and so easy to make. Thanks for the recipe.
Looks amazing!
Looks delicious a must try
Starving watching this! I’ll have a go at this. Thanks x
This looks wonderful, Cheryl. 😊
My favourite thing from Greggs is a chicken bake. Yum. 😊
I can not wait to try this-I bet the cream cheese adds a lovely additional flavor. Delicious! ❤
Looks lovely Cheryl xxx
Looks absolutely delicious Cheryl.🤤👍
I added tarragon instead of celery salt
That looks delicious and easy. 😊 I’ll have to give this one a try!
Definitely making this
This is delicious Cheryl, we thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so that I adapted the filling tonight and used pork tenderloin fillet. I served it with a mushroom rice and it was so tasty. 😋
Looks lovley, will try this ❤
This looks delicious, will definitely try it...
Looks fabulous ❤
Now, that's what I call a pie😋👍
This looks *great*
Thanks ❤️ for sharing this recipe
This looks so yummy
That looks delicious
Oh yes, I've been awaiting this one Cheryl! It looks lovely and simple when using ready prepared puff pastry and I do agree that Aldi's and Lidl's are the most superior and lightest. I can hardly wait to have a go at this. I do like Greggs pasties, but I do also like to know exactly what meat is going into my pies, so this is all good! Thank you!
Thanks Cheryl x
That looks so good! When our weather cools off and I bake again, I'll try it. (102°/114° heat index today)
Wow!! 😯
Looking very good
Yummy, I love a good pie and being a Greg how can I not like this 😂❤🙏
Looks great. I think I would serve this with a nice side salad 🥗 😋
Never had this but as soon as the Summer is over and we can use the stove again I am trying this!
Fabulous! x
Delicious i shall make this
Looks good one to try, i do the same with a corned beef potato cheese and onion mix, it easy and works well, use cooked potato , or even a tin of potatoes diced and a little gravy works well in it.
They look delicious Cheryl. I must admit I've never had a chicken bake from Greggs but will definitely give these a go. I made your greggs cheese & onion pasties a few weeks ago & they were really nice. So this is another recipe to add onto meal plan for the next few weeks. Your recipes never dissolving Cheryl, always turn out well.& are delicious
That should say your recipes are never disappointing 😊
Made this for tea ( I used some ramen stock I had in the freezer because I forgot to get stock cubes) & was told "it's better than Greggs" 😊
Hi Cheryl! I need to try this recipe, looks so yummy!! All your recipes I have made have been a hit. It reminds me of the beefy bake episode from Still Game. 😂 Julie B. got me addicted to that show. It is hysterical!
😆👍
Nice with cranberry sauce inside or outside gives it a mild sweet kick.
Amazing job
Thanks Zac! Hope you're well Buddy. 👍
Hi Cheryl hope you and yours are well……….love your videos so much keep on churning them out………..I am the one that lived in st Vincent street my hubby was the caretaker in the office block…….moved on from there to Bellahouston near the park …..knew you worked in town………….I work in Sandyford place at this moment in time is horrendous as the world cycling race is taking place in town for the next two weeks so getting in to and from work is a complete nightmare with most roads closed………..keep them coming love watching them…..❤🥰
Thanks so much, that really does look lovely and delicious. I've got some chicken in the freezer and I think I'm going to have to make it. Just need the puff pastry and a few potatoes. It may go perfectly with the episode or two of Midsomer 😊
Let us know how you get on :)
Mmmm yammy e sooo
Delicious I love it thanks ❤👍
That crust. Mmmmmm❤
Yum
Oh yummy
very nice if you want to be a bit cheaper use tinned chicken
Great idea 🙂👍 the chicken in white sauce is great for this.
Very yummy thanku
That looked delicious. Such a treat for a mid week meal.
We have Gregg’s here in England as well - it’s not just a Caledonian thing! Some of their food is quite nice! Here in Taunton, we have two Gregg’s shops!
We have a Taunton here on the east coast US, but no Greg's 😢. Our Gregg's is a family restaurant chain, local, known for their desserts and free pickle slices on the table while you wait for your food.
But a local British couple who own a café have seen their sausage rolls become so popular that they're selling them frozen at a local supermarket. They're fabulous! There's an Aussie dairy bar that has them as well, but they're not as good
@@LindaC616 Massachusetts? That’s what you get if you take all of the false teeth in America and pile them up in Boston - a mass of chew sets - Massachusetts!
@arthurvasey 😄 yes, but I'm next door in Rhody
That looks delicious! Would you do a video showing how you do those potatoes? I cannot make my oven-roasted potatoes look like that.
Yums
Looks great but I'll have to add chicken gravy instead of that glorious white sauce, hubby hates anything in a creamy sauce. Thank you for sharing Cheryl xxx
Yummy 😋
This is happening - TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT!!!! ❤
👍 yum 👍
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I could demolish that on my own 😋. Great recipe and you could add leeks, mushrooms, bacon, mixed veg for variety.
😋
Going to give that ago xx
😀😀😀😀
hello cheryl,,I am buying puff pastry today and I am going to try to make a meat pie.
Hi Cheryl 👋, been looking forward to getting this recipe & watching you demonstrate how it’s made. Looks absolutely delicious & will definitely have a go at making this, though will have to make individual sized & freeze the others. I’m assuming these will freeze ok, but should I freeze before or after cooking the pastry,🤔 what do you think Cheryl?
Many thanks as always & enjoy the rest of your week. xx👩🏻🍳💕💞🩷
I think it's before. I'm curious to see what she says.
@@LindaC616 I’d be inclined to think that as well Linda, hopefully Cheryl will notice my question & respond!🤞
@davidmurphy816 usually she does! A local cafe owned by a British couple has started to sell theirs frozen in a local supermarket, because they're so popular. And they do require being cooked in the oven for about 35 minutes.
@davidmurphy816 Hi David...absolutely you could freeze individual pies! freeze them before cooking, then just cook them from frozen 🙂 They will take longer to cook from frozen though....just keep an eye on them 🤩
@@LindaC616 Thank you Linda, great to hear that.👍
I make em but used chicken tikka masala as a filling
I like the look of this, however watching the video. I personally wouldn't have cooked the chicken right the way through or for so long, they only small chunks so would have dried out in that pan then after that they went into the oven, so just a quick 2-3 mins on high to give it a bit of colour in the pan before the over would have done. Other than that looks good
Lovely recipe but 1 warning. I made tooooo much corn flour and not enough water. I now have a pan of jelly like sauce. Oh dear 😂
Oh no! So sorry to hear that x
Can this be frozen and then cooked from frozen ?
Does anyone else think that cream knocks the taste and flavour out of stews and then sort of thing
sorry duchess i reccon i could eat that on my own x
😆👍
Looks good! I am from the US. I noticed with oven temperatures the term "gas mark" this term isn't used here. What does it mean? I have seen it on other videos. Im interested in vintage appliance and have hear of both the Rayburn and AGA cookers. Stoves/ranges here. Thanks
This is where I first heard of gas mark.
Hi there. If you have a gas cooker/oven the UK, you will use 'gas mark' rather than actual temperatures....my gas cooker goes from 1 to 8 🙂 most things will get cooked on gas 6 or 7, that's the equivalent to 200-220c or 400-425f 👍
@@WhatsForTeaThank you. Im a bit of an appliance nerd🤓
