One detail that I have noticed, and I didn't see anybody talk about it. Arthur and John can be either calm or agitated. They can become agitated when they sense danger, when you are in a gunfight, and you are behind cover and a bullet misses you to the point that Arthur flinched, he will become agitated, the screen will get slightly dark and the screen will shake making it harder to hit someone

Don't get me wrong, both of the recent god of War games are pretty cool, but Red Dead Redemption II is a once in a millennium lifetime perfect masterpiece video game experience.

God of War is in fantasy world filled with magic duh. So, a lot of things not natural is kinda if not very normal. It doesn't need to be overly realistic.

It's amazing rockstar games, in terms of timing it is very messy, but when it launches the games, it manages to do them well enough to make them remain the BEST for years, it was so with GTA 5 that it was surpassed by rdr2 and now I have to say that rdr2 can only be from a next rockstar game, I've always said "the only games that can surpass Rockstar Games games are Rockstar Games games themselves" my opinion clearly

I have been playing both on repeat recently. I’m a Kratos boi and an Arthur Morgan boah.
It will be a historic moment in the video game industry when a game comes out that surpasses RDR2 in every way. 5 years and there is still no worthy opponent. The closest we have to that is the Tlou Remake and Tlou2. (Though we know that's far from a good comparison because they're linear games unlike Red Dead.)

The thing about arrows in GoW is that they aren't regular arrows made of wood. They are either light based or magic based.
It makes sense, in respect to the lore, but in terms of the detail presentation in-game, it kinda feels like a copout...

God of war Ragnarok has an excellent story and the gameplay is very good in my opinion. Just the competition is not at all fair. A fantasy game is compared with a realistic action game. It's obvious that RDR 2 has more details.
Not all the developers in the world has the privilege of putting in so much time in a game so as to put so much detail in every aspect. Rockstar is backed by one of the industry's giants "Take two interactive" and has one of the most popular franchise "Grand theft auto" under its belt. And don't even get me started on the money they earn from GTA online. Considering these factors, comparison of any game to rdr2 is just unfair at this point. Moreover, if getting to see the size shift of some virtual horse testicles classifies a game as BETTER for you, then you do you, I don't really see the point of any kind of discussion.

@@maverick4314 Again, you haven't even played the game, so you won't know the KIND of attention to detail that is infact present in a game where all the stories that were referenced in the 2018 version are infact visually presented in the most awe inspiring way. And the video in question isn't even representing various aspects correctly, and more than few of the locations chosen for the comparison were glitched in god of war Ragnarok at that point in time, which made it difficult for the details that you mention to be seen clearly. And the developers behind GOW are well known for churning out the most well optimized triple A titles in the market, granted they mostly only made god of war games. And Red dead redemption 2 didn't really have a lot of games in the past that would need to be taken into account for story purposes, god of war did, and they put in a lot of DETAILS referencing those games in their modern titles. And it is a fantasy game, so that just increases the amount of work for the team so as to come up with original ideas for the world and the charactera to come to life, that is not even an issue for read dead, they have real world as a template to work upon and focus on the replication of real life elements rather, streamlining the whole process. And since you want to compare take two interactive and Sony interactive entertainment, my argument about GTA online being take two's money making Machine still stands. And even though Sony put tons of money into their first party titles, that really shows in the final product one way or the other, they cannot just go all out with their production cycles like take two can. Sony already incur tons of losses on their console units, as you would know for sure, and the only real way for them to make up for it and make it profitable is to rely on their subscription service that also cost them a fortune to mantain and first party titles (for drawing in the audience), the responsibilities take two doesn't really have. In the end, i only want to say that these two games have their own place in the hearts of people, and shouldn't outright be compared on the basis of a simple factor like "small details", which means different things for different types of games.
