    Tina they are delicious!! I have some cash register roll. I have been planning to create a snippet roll. I was also thinking because we get these really long cash register receipts from some of the local stores, maybe I'll just start gluing them together and adding paper to them or material to make my snippet rolls. Then someone suggested wrapping it in an old box the aluminum foil or Saran wrap type containers. You can decoupage the boxes to make them pretty even. I have more ideas than I'll ever have time. 🐇🌻🐰🦋💜

    Better late than never Tina. LOL. I have been making cards and journals for a craft sale coming up and I was burned out with doing that so I wanted to do something different for this week. I went back and binge watched a bunch of your videos today and I loved all the snippets and clusters so I had to download a bunch of your fussy cuts so I can do these. So pretty! As soon as I force myself to do some fall cleaning tomorrow morning I am going to start snippets. So excited!

    I received some of these rolls of paper as a gift from a crafter and then my mom gave me one. If you go to fast food restaurants and ask them they will give you the end rolls. They are usually pink and are going to be thrown away. I have asked cashiers for them so my kids could write on them in the car when they were kids. People love to give away things. I have to say I don't like making snippets so I think this would be ideal.

    I have the same problems with my fingers and rings. I have arthritis, so my knuckles swell up so that a size 6-7 barely fits over them. But my ring size is actually a size 5. So I have to wait for a really good, usually high pressure cold day to get my wedding rings on. Then good luck getting them off again!!
    I saw her video on the snippits roll and plan on making one myself.

    my girlfriend happened across your video and shared with me..Gorgeous. I haven't yet look at any more of your videos. My request would be: Sewing through the Snippet Roll ...threads, needles and the big one..Thread Tension!! Sewing through adhesive is tricky.. Do you have issues with the adhesive gumming up your sewing machine? I'd truly appreciate all your advice on the sewing aspect of the Snippet Rolls. I primarily make greeting cards, stamping, mixed media, etc. Thank for sharing your talent. MA in Connecticut, USA.

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh thank you, and welcome to my channel. I am not great with my sewing machine, but I will see what I can do. When I made this snippet roll, my stitching fortunately didn’t really go through the tyvek, as much of the pieces were overhanging. I have since tried it again with the tyvek, and the pieces were smaller, yes the Tyvek did gum up my needle x

    • @online22much
      @online22much 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shabbydabbydoodah Here in the US, I can get tyvek mailing envelopes free from the post office. There is no glue strip, of course. But it would be a good base. I've also brushed on metallic paints and then dried it with my heat gun...it forms big bubbles and actual holes from the heat..BEWARE of getting the heat gun too close..you could start a fire. Cash register tape, thin fabric/muslin, card stock,. I have tons of old wooden spools of thread (thread is probably rotted). & bits and pieces from when my Mom made all my clothers..coats, suits, gowns, dresses, etc. I have National Geographic magazines dating back to 1938 to use. There quite a few options for a backer. I even have a role of heart monitoring tape from the cardiologist (great for Valentine cards). Do you use a heavy duty sewing needle in your machine (for denim/canvas weight fabric)? My problem is using thread tension. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I hope to see more of your creations...my head is spinning with ideas.

    very nice finished product. I've made one and was surprised how quickly I used most of it. I have questions about sewing something with that much adhesive---didn't it gum up your sewing machine? I found a double-sided heavy duty construction tape that I'm going to try. Will try to incorporate double layers with larger pieces and some lace/fabric.

    If you don't have cash register tape, I thought of a calculator tape roll and use some glue to stick the paper down.

    I think there are subs for Tyvec tape- called "house wrap tape". Much cheaper.

    Wouldn't the thick rolls of Double Sided Tape work? as the ones I use are really cheap but have really good sticking power.

    Have you ever made one on a fabric roll?

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t, because I’m not so good with my sewing machine. This was so fun though that I might try a fabric one the same way x

      I used Tyvek, however I did watch a later video from I think it was Sigitas coffee stains, and she said that the Tyvek wasn’t good with her sewing machine, so you may want to experiment a little? Xx

    Love your idea and was enjoying it until you started getting fussy, then I started getting annoyed. It’s one thing when you are actually doing the fussing and it’s another when you’re watching it. I was thinking...”Just get on with it!”. Now as I write this, I am laughing at my own weird ways.
