My grandmother had a big sewing basket full of buttons. I can remember sitting in the floor playing with the buttons when she was sewing. I have her collection as well as my other grandmothers. All are over 60 years old. Love your flowers and will have to make some and use some lovely mother of pearl buttons.

That wind is crazy! Scrunching up a bunch of the little papers is a great TV project. Then later glueing them into flowers. I think this is going to be my TV project tonight. 😊

These look lovely and I have not seen anyone make them that way! The closest thing I've seen to this kind of method are the long straight strips folded like a fan that make those rosette thingies. But this scrunchy fan fold I have not seen before. They look more like petals than the cut out ones or helter skelter swirls. My glue gun is much smaller than yours, and uses the thinner sticks, but I love mine also for it's teeny skinny nozzle end! It's a long nozzle like yours, but approx half the girth if that's the right word!? 🙄 Lol! Can't be doing with those fat ended ones, they get glue everywhere! Mine has a plug like a kettle or desktop computer, and so is cordless if you need it to be for up to ten minutes. I think mine is made by Ryobi, I'd not heard of that make before, but it's fab! It was approx £9 from eBay UK, so an absolute bargain! And like you, if it breaks i get the same one again. I get 100 glue sticks for about £3, also eBay! If there's one thing I'm good at it's sniffing out a bargain! So, having said that, I'm gonna go make some! 😁😁😁

Regarding the craft buying, I think we were magpies in a former life! I just love going through new stash and gazing at them! Like you, I could go in ANY shop pretty much, and still be drawn directly to the craft area, or items I could use for crafting! No matter how small that haberdashery section or one lonely shelf! Even when I go to the hospital for an appointment, I have to buy something from the little shop! And that has no craft stuff! I'll grab envelopes or postcards or something, ANYTHING, and I don't need any more craft supplies in the first place! It's an issue, but not one I'm worried about! 😂 Infecting your daughter with the craft bug is not something to worry about! She will be such a creative, imaginative and self sufficient woman one day as a result of your influence! Opening her eyes up to upcycling and repurposing will ensure she never wants for anything much in life! She'll learn how to salvage things and make them into the things she needs. I wish more young girls were taught these traditional skills! Once you know how to make-do-and-mend you can make a comfortable home even on the lowest income! That is a HUGE gift to give her that will last a lifetime, as will the memories of learning alongside her mummy! Awww bless her. 😘 xxxx

Hi Tina, these are so cute. I’ve never seen them made this way and it looks so easy and they look awesome! I should wait till the end of the video before I comment 😂. I love the button story with your daughter because I HAVE AN OBSESSION WITH BUTTONS and I’m also a quilter so I love fabric and have a huge stash of both. And my oldest Granddaughter loves fabric and buttons as well. She’s 10 and “shops” in my sewing room all the time for fabric and buttons 😊. I love flat back pearls as well, I use them all the time.
