Florida Keys Mahi season is off to a great start. But today a big Mahi put a hook through my leg.

This has been the most productive start to a mahi mahi season I've seen. Our freezer is filling up with multiple days of catching our limit of good quality size mahi. However, this day a big one fights back and puts a hook in me.

@josephprimavera2545 - yes they are! And I know better. . .I also usually cut the front set off, especially when I'm going for wahoo. It lets the lure mover forward more and tends to keep their teeth away from a leader. Thanks for watching.

Congrats on a successful trip, minus the hooking. You did the right thing by going for a tetanus shot. Last time I got a deep cut, I was able to get a tetanus shot at the CVS pharmacy, so keep that in mind instead of a hospital visit. The ER's are usually packed and a long wait around my area.

@MEGA_SOKO - I definitely should have waited and gone to the pharmacy or an urgent care the following day - the ER in Key West was packed. It was a 3 1/2 wait for a tetanus shot. Thanks for watching.
