    - Bella P. had a tattoo of an anatomical heart with red sun rays in the background.
    - Knetizens accused her of insulting them because they thought she got a tattoo of the Japanese imperial flag-how is that the flag they’re talking about? Unless the flag design has an anatomical heart…honestly, they need to learn to move on and read about Philippine history as well…not to mention the Battle of Yultong where Filipino soldiers defended Korea against thousands…they wouldn’t even be the country it is now if not for that victory.
    - Bella apologized with all humility and even had it removed (personally, what she did was really kind as it wasn’t even exactly like the Japanese imperial flag.)
    - Knetizens trashed the apology (because oh, they are so high and mighty) and directly insulted the rest of the Filipinos and the Philippines by vandalizing the image of the Philippine flag.
    - Filipinos retaliated by putting out the hashtag Cancel Korea. Filipinos are kind in general but go batshit crazy when disrespected or when their loved ones are hurt. Just run.
That’s about it. Stupid, really. Just learn to treat people kindly and with respect. We’re all humans.

Some Korean Netizens probably did not realized that the Philippines went rough the same as them in Japanese Occupation. But being such a forgiving people in the world, we embraced our past and we try to move on. Same crime and same situation both Korea and Philippines went through so to say the least that we did understand the pain is such an understatement.
Filipinos are poor financially but rich in dignity, human values and love for humanity. We forgive because we are aware that the sins of the father should not be inherited by the son.

Thats exactly it. Japanese, spaniards , USA conquered philippines and yet filipinos nvr hating those three countries.

It alrdy happened. Thats why i nvr like south kore. They are very good at victimizing themselves just like african american still to this day keep bringing up slavery that happened in the past.

there was already a word war on social media between Filipinos and Koreans but #CancelKorea didn't come up until Jitler, a Korean criticized, not only Bella, but Filipinos in general, and disrespected a Philippine flag that he drew. he spat on it (if i remember it right). stepped on it and ripped it apart, which sparked outrage from young Filipinos online. Filipinos demanded apology from Jitler and since Filipinos and Koreans basically have a good relationship with each other and many Koreans are in the Philippines t9 stidy and vacation, they got afraid of the backlash and of anything else that might happen to them, that's why some Koreans, especially those living in the Philippines (like Jessica) put out apology videos to appease the angry Pinoys and somehow put out the fire.

To everyone's knowledge, during the Second World War, the Japanese Imperial Army used many Korean soldiers under the same flag (the rising sun) who were more brutal than regular Japanese soldiers against the Filipinos. But despite all this, Filipinos have never harbored a grudge against the Japanese, Koreans, and even past colonizers like Spain and the US for that matter. Filipinos are naturally forgiving, cheerful, and hospitable. But other races should understand, that Filipinos never forget their past, that's for sure.

My japanese husband told me abt this but doesn’t entirely believe… he said that those who were really terrible & brutal soldiers during the war esp the ones committing rape crimes were actually koreans under japanese flag. For me no matter what country ur from, ur religion or beliefs there would be good and bad, one is not defined with these things alone especially to be generally defined as one with the many. Filipinos are very nice people very sincere with thier interactions, Japanese are very polite but lacks sincerity but very strong on discipline as an individual and as country. No country is ever perfect, us humans should be more tolerant & learn from each other’s culture & experiences.

I had the same discussion earlier this week with my family! I'm amazed by how we as Filipinos don't really harbor that deep seated anger against the races that destroyed our history and precolonial culture, that brainwashed us... I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing.
When we meet Spanish nationalities, we don't bring out the trauma of 333 years of being subjected to slavery and being called indios and negritos. When I see Japanese, we don't relive the memories of abuse suffered by Filipino Women who they treated as comfort women, we forget that we were merely sold to the Americas, used as pawns for years... I guess our ancestors protected us enough to harbor not much generational pain....well, i guess its a good thing that Filipinos don't overly generalize based on race.

They love u when ur white - but they look down on u when ur asian., which is crazy for me. I have a lot of korean friends u know, even some of them say korea is good only for travel but not as a home specially if ur not the same race , i also encountered some that was very good to me before they knew where im from- i was hurt but im still good to them. True, based on my experience. I'm a Filipino with tan complexion. I used to be an English teacher to S.Koreans students. I had a Filipino colleague with white complexion, and S.Korean students were way too nice on their approach with her. But, they treated their dark-skinned teacher differently- roughly. I got really annoyed with the S.Korean kids and teenagers students. But I like the old ones or adult students because they know better how to treat their teachers. They treated us nicely & politely, and they didn't care about our skin color. Well, that's life, what can we expect children who act childish and parents/older generation didn't explain to them that skin complexion is not your basis how well you treat other people.

I'm not saying there's no prejudice in the Philippines, but we are respectful enough to shut our mouths when we saw something we don't agree with or like. Again, not all but most of us. Because we want peace more than anything. We love, we care.
So this movement was really hurtful. It won't exist if it isn't big enough.

Philippines was also invaded by Japanese people (and a lot more countries) back then our female ancestors were also brutally treated thus the name comfort women was created(Japanese people made Filipino women sex slaves) as a nation we were also hurt during that i invasion. But that’s all in the past, we can’t blame the Japanese people now because of what happened back then, we can’t changed what already happened. All we can do now is to prevent the same animosity and brutality to ever happening again, I think that’s the importance of our history “to learn and stop it from happening again” so we can all move on as a nation.. I’m not saying forget about everything in the past, but instead learn from them. The Philippines was colonized by many nation but this just made the Filipino people more resilient and made to appreciate the humanity even more.. Proud to be Filipino🇵🇭

In my opinion, if you think about it, Philippines was mistreated by Japanese too when they conquered the country, but we (Filipinos) already forgave Japan. Honestly, I am SO surprised by those overacting S.Koreans. They were way too sensitive. Hey, it is just me, that's my opinion. If there are emotional S.Koreans, of course, there are emotional Filipinos, too, so there you have it, the "Cancel Korea." We have so many issues against S.Korea, because they always think highly about themselves. If you think about it, S.Korea's culture is more individualistics, so they only think about themselves. They will say what they like to say, without thinking it twice. Don't get me wrong, I used to work with S.Koreans, so I'm telling you my opinions based on my own experience with them (for consecutive two years). Though, there were nice S.Koreans that I met, I also encountered really mean S.Koreans.

the cancel korea hashtag didn't start just from Bella poarch incident, many separate incidents simultaneously happened early this year. Korean vloggers mocking the Filipino accent on their platform and acting like a poor farmer from PH. Another korean tiktok star saying he got insulted being called Filipino etc. it's a lot.. so basically a bunch of different Korean influencers insulting Filipinos in many different platforms online.

  • @caoinismyname
    @caoinismyname 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    1. Bella doesn't even need to apologize. Even if we assume she did have a flag tattoo, so what? It's just a tattoo. It's not like she had it specifically for Koreans. Like can a muslim bash non-muslims for eating pork? No, they can't. Koreans should learn to mind their own business.
    2. The korean girl in the video is too protective of her people. She speaks like both sides, should stop, when it's always the offender that should stop first. Koreans started it so they should be the one to stop and apologize. If they can't do it, then don't expect Filipinos to stop, too.

I feel like those koreans were very entitled. I'm talking about how the Ph help on the K. War)
Also, the tattoo is not even the Rising Sun flag. If I am not mistaken, ganoon ang ginagamit minsan na "sacred heart" design, o ano bang tawag doon?

First of all, what is the true measure of being better than another ?
Is it measured through wealth? Through level of education ? Through the physical appearance of people? All of these are physical and material aspects of life.
Or do you judge a country better because its people have good heart, loving, happy people despite the financial hardships and are very warm and welcoming to other people regardless what country they come from?
Why do you think a lot of foreign nationals and tourists decide to reside in the Philippines after they have experienced visiting this country? These people are from Europe, US, Middle East, and Centrsl America and all parts of the world. Testimonies from international people on TikTok will show you why they think Philippines is a better place to live despite being an underdeveloped country due to poverty. If this will be the true measure of a better country, which do you think is a better country?

I guess you didn’t read my comment on your last video, so let me reiterate: I doubt she deliberately had a “culture flag” placed on her arm. Unlike Koreans, Filipinos were never indoctrinated to hate it because of the occupation. If anything, with the heart there, it also resembles the Sacred Heart of Jesus (a heart with rays coming out of it.) I don’t know if this is what she was going for, but as a Filipino raised in the Philippines, my mind will go there before it goes to the Rising Sun flag. She was probably unfortunate enough to have chosen a portrayal of rays that resembled the Rising Sun flag.
Edit: also, “maybe Japanese people think they’re better than Koreans,” no, dude. I think your image of Japan has stayed in the wartime era, just like most Koreans. I hope you can do some Japanese-related content to educate yourself about modern day Japan. They’re the most pacifist, most polite country. Their entire culture is about humility and not tooting your own horn. A CEO will wear Uniqlo just like a normal lower middle class laborer, precisely because “thinking you’re better than others” is not an acceptable thing. When they win any major tournament or world title, you’d never hear them say “I’m proud of myself.” That’s not a phrase they use to celebrate achievements. They would say, “I will do my best again in the future.” Just an FYI.

Wait was that like 3 years ago? But it’s just a temporary thing and went back to the usual
and Filipinos went back to becoming obsessed with Kpop

@@TripTipsPodcastNo, it’s different though the narrator is a bit confusing even to me a Filipino. But just to give you a heads-up, kkk in America is negative while kkk in the Philippines is positive and I don’t think there’s a connection between the two nor the philippines were inspired by the kkk in the US since there was no internet at that time. It’s just the same acronym but different meaning and what it stands for.

@@TripTipsPodcast KKK in the philippines is the acronym of the group that started and fought the last and biggest revolution against Spain and was the basis of the first Filipino army… which also fought the americans who colonized us in turn of spain.
the “KKK” acronym has a positive and powerful connotation in PH, as compared to the negative connotation in the US.

I am Korean. I have not heard about Korea damaging the Philippine flag in Korean communities or news. So let me check it out. And it is simple for Korea to be angry at Japan. Because Japan does not acknowledge the crime. If Germany declares that it did not genocide the Jews, will Europe and the United States be able to forgive Germany?

I looked it up and it seems like it was 4 years ago, but there was a lot of criticism about the desecration of the national flag even in Korea. Instead, I would like to apologize to the Filipino people for the vicious actions committed by unscrupulous people in Korea.

I acknowledge racial discrimination in Korea. But folks, this is a moral issue and a matter of individual character, so normal Koreans have no choice. There are too many idiots who don't listen even if you talk to them.

I know that there is racism against Asians in Korea, too.
But the issue of racism is a matter of individual morality and personality, so it can't be helped.
There are a lot of fools who don't listen even if they talk.

nothing u can do about it.. usr ur brain .ur a minority , we have no power.. if ur south korea president will say we go against north korea.. u have no power to stop him. It is wha it is.
Also , lots of suicide rates in south korea than japan. South korea are cutthroat. Ppl there break their knee for plastic surgeries to look taller, get rhinoplasty, eyelids, etc for the sake of landing a good job. ...it's sad.
