This gives me a lot of peace of mind. I’ve been experiencing ETD for months, just within the past week I’ve had tinnitus that won’t go away. I’ve been to the ER, an ENT, and even a dentist because the ENT said it might be TMJ. Of course, stress-googling doesn’t help one bit. You’re the first person who’s actually talked sense about this issue. Thank you deeply.

Thank you so much for your videos! I had new onset hearing loss with tinnitus that followed. I saw an ENT and was told my tympanic pressures were normal. Not until I saw this video did I try to make my ears pop. I found that the ear with the hearing loss didn't pop normally where it always had the rest of my life. The ENT blew me off, but using your techniques and instructions I've made progress in the ringing! All of your videos are helpful. I appreciate that you also responded directly when I contacted you for more info. I'm steaming now. You're right, no one suggested steaming. Have a great day!

I have had tinnitus for many years and have taught myself to associate the sound with silence. When there is no sound around me and it’s silent I hear the ringing in my ears which tells me that I have peace and quiet which is relaxing.
So in effect I’ve trained myself to associate the sound of tinnitus as something good.
I will however try your technique to reduce the volume or possibly eliminate the sound all together.

62 , musician , got T but learned to live with it. It took a major turn for the worse starting with a sudden hearing loss in left ear , sound came back after 15 hours but distorted with god awful T and hypercusis. Took a month to improve with alternating good day and bad days. Then it happened again after 3 months. I found your channel and started clearing my eustachian tubes with your techniques of spray , steam and opening eustachian tubes techniques and zinc. Huge difference after 2 days. T is cut by 50- 75% , hypercusis is gone, I went to audiologist after the first time and he said nothing on how to get better.. Thanks Dr. Mandell..

I have had T since I was a small child (I'm 63). I have only once had relief. For another reason not related, I mixed all the strongest aromatic condiments from the refrigerator to mask an odor. The next morning I had super hearing (I could hear my neighbors talking and thought they were in their front yard; they were inside their house). I was looking for an aroma therapy when I found your video which mentioned Eustachian dysfunction along with chronic sinus problems. That knowledge alone helped me decide what I should do. Thanks.

To ensure spraying into the eustachian tube, hold the tube with the opposite hand to the nostril you are spraying into while you are bending forward. This will help ensure that the spray is pointed outwards into the eustachian rather than vertically into other sinus regions.

I try everything he suggests because so much of these disorders are all connected. But most are routines that have to be repeated to get results and the best results if at first you don’t succeed. He also has videos on the vagus nerve that’s responsible for a lot of ear, nose,,throat, eye involvement that also has gut connections, back pain,,neck pain,,vertigo...it’s amazing how much the main body nerve,,the vagus nerve disturbances is responsible for so many nagging disorders. Find them all and if it makes you feel, better to get a diagnosis from a Physical therapist,,do that and then follow thru with all the retraining you might find a need for. As one symptom disappears, it often makes way for another one to present.

Sorry my response is late to you guys but I would massage each day the area of where my eustachian is, but most importantly I learned to relax and hang the muscles of my face. Lean your head to opposite side from the ear you're having this issue with so the problem ear is facing up... Then you want to train yourself to relax your face muscles. Learn the muscles around your cheeks and especially your eyes. It's hard to consciously do this as your face muscles are almost never relaxed. It might be weird, But I would pretend that I just died and all my face is being striped down to the ground. You need to think about the muscle that you are trying to relax. Doing this for about ten min each day ended up stretching out the tube but most of all it was created room for the pressure fluid or whatever is causing the pressure to be released upwards and be released into the right passages. Also, make sure to flush your nasal passages with a jetty pot each day with the right saline solution. It soothes and clears out the cause of what's going on. It takes patience but keep it up and I promise it will work. Hope this helps! I trust this gentleman's advice 100 percent! He goes beyond the cure and really analyzes the physics of our anatomy. Don't give up otherwise your life will always be miserable! Meds are hit or miss and never helped me, but they are not a source of cure in my opinion. Best of luck!

Eustachian tube spray protocol going through the nose was like a miracle for me - after doing it daily for 2 weeks. I used a saline sinus spray with head tilted forward - and nozzle aimed laterally, with slight sniff in. Then followed with popping my ears and moderate warming with hot air from blow dryer. This protocol has worked so well, I actually forgot for several days. This seems kind of miraculous because I had been advised by audiologist to get hearing aids. Now the ringing is 95% resolved and my hearing seems normal. I had tried multiple irrigation sprays by way of the external/outer ear with almost zero results. Dr. Mandell was the first I found to teach the nasal approach!Thank you, Dr. Mandell !

Ibis A., I just read a couple of articles last night in regards to tinnitus, and how taking B12 (supplements and or injections) can help with ringing in the ears. I don't know what you're going through, but if it is the ringing, I suggest you looking up the relations between B12 & tinnitus. I haven't tried yet (because I just read it last night), but I'll most likely ask my doctors if I lack B12. B12 is usually found in animal products, and if you're vegan, it's difficult to obtain it - however, there are options that I have yet to research from my understanding. Anyway, I hope this helps - if you are again, having ringing in the ears as a result from tinnitus.

Since this is the most bothersome sound I can not express how grateful I am now to barely hear it anymore and life seems almost perfect right now. No problem if I have to repeat this process multiple times a day if this is the effect. It is super interesting to know the link between eustachian tube dysfunction and tinnitus and I can't believe that most of us tinnitus patients only get a hearing test done and than are told we have to live with this. While obviously there can be so many reasons... And maybe not everyone can be cured, still even a small improvement can make major changes in those that have to deal with severe tinnitus. Thanks for sharing your refreshing views! Best wishes to everyone with this condition, it will get better!

My tinnitis started over 4 years ago. Lately it has been a high pitched rush sound that I can't yet match to another sound. There are certain videos that generate sounds, and work sometimes for me, other times it is makes mine way worse but then it goes back to normal. Do yourself a favor. Start listening at LOW volume and slowly move louder just until it is about equal but not louder. Louder can definitely make it worse. Ive also read that the tinnitus is actually caused from the absence of sound probably from some form of damage. I.E. Because your brain can't hear anything (the sound it is searching for) it makes up it's own sound to compensate for the missing sound.
Good luck my brothers and sisters. If I find anything else that really works I'll be sure to posts. Please do the same for me. I will be cutting out different additives, E-vape liquids for one week and see how that does, then certain foods or medications, etc. Ect... And will let you know what happens after each. I still remember what quiet time sounds like and I'm going to figure out how to get it to stop.
Let me know what you have tried and what works for you. Then we can maybe figure it out together. 👍

Small update. I haven't found much that helps as if yet. I do not see a correlation between food and the sound at the moment. Obviously, anything that makes my blood pressure higher definitely makes the noise louder. So cigarettes, e-cigarette, coffee etc. makes things worse. I do have one thing that helps sometimes. If I sit still and quiet, I can relax muscles in my, I don't know where exactly yet, my neck... around the ears... somewhere in that area, and the sounds will lesson. It is strange because it's not something I can always do and on the worst days it doesn't help at all. I asked my Dr. about that but because I couldn't actually explain it, he just kind of looked at me strange and moved on.

@@RichardJr1134 There is one thing that I do that does help for a few hours and sometimes less or more. It isn't a permanent solution but it does something. I have the problem in both ears as well and if I stick a finger in both ears right at the entrance to the ear drum and apply light pressure while pressing up and kind of opening that area the fullness goes away for a while. ( Just like old times, haha) My doctor said as long as I am not aggressively digging my finger into that opening I wasn't doing any harm. She couldn't or wouldn't tell me why that worked and seemed she didn't want to be bothered so I am hoping to bring it up to my new doctor in case it explains the root cause. Give it a shot if you like. Just just push up to open that area and hold it for a bit throughout the day. So far it is the most relief I have gotten. I wish you the best and thank you for replying with some info!!

What helped my many years long stubborn tinnitus was a combination of cutting out alcohol, added sugars, and trying to eat as clean food as possible. By this I mean not so much half made and processed food, but fruits and vegetables, fish and lean meat and all natural ingredients. Then I also fixed my posture to help my neck muscles out, because my SCM muscles, scalenes, suboccipitals etc simply wouldn't release trigger points unless I did a full on posture fixing approach (stretching and strengthening relevant muscles that were ruining my posture). I wasn't even aware that my muscles were in bad shape, because I had no pain and didn't even feel the pain in the trigger points for the longest time. I also started doing brisk walking uphill once a day for 30 minutes to help increase blood flow throughout my body. This approach completely made my tinnitus vanish, so I believe the culprit was a combination of toxicity in my muscles and immune system due to diet, posture and lack of exercise. Cutting out certain things for a short period (less than 3 months), had previously had no effect for me or clients Ive dealt with. In my experience dealing with people with auto immune diseases and other unexplained symptoms caused by food in the past, you need to give your body 3 months when trying out new diets. If your body is damaged due to inflammation or deterioration of your gut flora because of said triggers, it takes time to adjust, heal and restore. To heal anything and be pain free, your body also needs proper nerve supply (alignement and posture), blood supply (from making your heart pump or do exercises regularly), rest, stress relief/outlet to "belly- breathe" properly, and enough nutrients from your diet while staying away from things your body doesn't like. Its amazing how many things your body can react to and give all kinds of symptoms from, that will never show up on any allergy tests. Keep experimenting and give your body what it needs! Good luck :)

My Dr. taught me this technique in 1970 before going through eustachian tube surgery. To this day I still do it to keep my ears clear.

Thank you for sharing your experience and technique with everyone. I have Tinnitus ever since I was in 5th grade. As I get older it gets worser and is taking a huge toll on my mental health and well being. I hope this will help me overcome it.

I am also suffering from tinnitus from last 2 months. In the beginning it drove me crazy but now I have learnt to live with this. Do yoga, meditation. It would help a lot. Don't be sad because of this problem. Bcz our body is a machine and any fault could occur in the machine. Just stay happy. Live your life with joy.

I've had tinnitus for almost 2 years. I had the impression that once someone had tinnitus, there was nothing that would make it go away. When I do some of these things, I can hear the tinnitus changing. Increasing and decreasing, especially when I moved my jaw forward. I'm curious how long it will take to make a change, though you just said in this video that change is progress, and to be patient. I'm anxious to see change. Thanks for giving me some hope.

Thank you so much for telling the wonderful techniques. Most of ENT Doctors are useless in treating ETD. All they wanna do is surgery or prescribed tons of medicines.
God Bless you for sharing this awesome information!

I have been suffering for several months and my doctor gave me antibioitics and they didn't work to unplug my ears. One ear is more plugged than the other. I told my doctor I wanted to see a Eye, Nose and throat specialist and she looked at me like I had 2 heads. She didn't think there was anything to worry about. But I felt there was, it was my body and I felt there was something wrong. I was right! There is some kind of mass in my nose that is causing some problems. I go for a CT scan this Tuesday to find out if it is blood filled or what it is! Kind of scary but at least I will find out. I am going to try what you advised! Several others were telling me try this! But not the same as what you told me. So I am glad I found this on Ytube! I am really I looked on Ytube and someone had put this on here ! So Thank you

I tried popping my ears but only could get one to pop, so I stuck my finger in the ear that did pop and tried again and the other one popped.
    Maybe that helps you too.
    Good luck.
    Cheers

I have been watching your videos and anything else I can get my hands on and am very appreciative. My son is in prison and two months ago he began getting quite dizzy. He has tried unsuccessfully since that time to be seen in medical. He no longer can play softball or basketball for fear of falling from the dizziness..He has so little available to him--not even the saline you suggested, but I will send him the information you've presented. Thank you

Followed another one of this Doctors videos about opening up the ET combined with drinking lots of water and feel its starting to clear. Have had extreme tinnitus which is the most stressful upsetting thing but have to say that its starting to get a lot better. I did take decongestant orally and I think it dried up my mucus and really put me back at stage one. So Im trying lots not to aggravate the tinnitus but keep drinking do the exercises and steaming 3 times a day. Today has been my first real day without the high pitched squeal all day in my ears. Still got pressure but can feel drip at back of throat and crackling in the ear so assuming thats the ET opening up now. Thanks doctor because the UK docs I have seen here are next to useless and have just referred me to ENT after going back to them 3 times with the symptoms you describe.

Thank you for your rich and important information .
I have Tinitus only in my right ear. I use your nose technique and the ringing is gone. I also use CBD Vital and my sinuses are quite open and the ringing in my right ear is gone. Many thanks for your great efforts to help.
