The previous 5008 was almost unique in the SUV market because it had three fully-fledged individual seats with Isofix in the back seat and offered a great compromise between an SUV and the extinct vans. The fact that they have cancelled this of all things makes it simply interchangeable.
I was looking at purchasing this new version over my current 3 year old 5008. However, the fact that they have removed the three ISOFIX points across the middle seats, quite a unique feature in this segment of car, is a massive no go for me now. Having three children under 5 years this new 5008 is no longer an option for me, bad bad move by Peugeot
Peugeot in the past few years has always been underwhelming in the engine department. 136 hp for a car as big as this is unacceptable. And the top power version, which is electric only 320? That is nothing for an electric. Gas/hybrid should be around 220 hp, phev around 300 and electric 400 +
@@Diminho822 take the 3008 for example. The only decent option is the 326 hp electric version with 6.4 seconds 0-100. All the other versions are in the 9-10 second range. For the 5008 you can add 0.5-1 seconds to that time. Do you really think the only feasable option should be the top of the range electric version? Some people are not yet sold on the electric idea, some want a hybrid. It's just sad to see this from a brand with such cool designs and so much potential.

Really nice screen compared to those rectangles stuck above the centre console, which look like you bought a tablet at Currys and screwed it on with a kit from Halfords. A shame they took away the beautiful piano keys in the centre, but I suppose the configurability of the replacement screen buttons is practical. A missed opportunity not to have more ISOfix points. The small steering wheel? My first car was a Morris Minor -- the steering was about twice the diameter. It didn't have power-assisted steering, but it did have very thin tyres. Each car I bought had a smaller wheel! WIth modern power steering, you simply don't need a big wheel.
I notice this model has side rear airbags in the seats in addition to the standard issue side curtain. I would be really interesting seeing some comment on the safety advantages of these being included, especially given these are uncommon and as a family oriented vehicle, safety is presumably a primary concern. Side rear airbags have never become popular oddly and it's a shame that no reviewer ever pays notice to this. I own a 2001 BMW e39 which also has side rear airbags in the rear doors (in addition to the side rear head airbag), which was a special option at the time - so they aren't a new technology.
Liked the video but since you invited at the end to say what you could do better in future… Well here’s one not only for your channel but all motoring journalists: When you do a review of the passenger car especially this type 7 seaters or so, when you are doing interior design review it would be much better and different to start a review from back of the car showing first the booth space in all its glory and flexibility then take through 3rd row of seats that buyers are usually looking this types of car for, then middle row and at the end finish of the front passenger and driver’s seat somehow it leaves a much better overall and last impression. Hope this helps to improve 😊
Beautiful interior and exterior. Also loved the dispassionate review, unusual these days with other reviewers waxing lyrical or spewing vitriol. It’s as if Siri took a Valium and assessed a car. And called it an e2008 😜
Not sure why car reviews always bring up the steering wheel as s its an issue. Been driving with it for 5 years now and to be honest cannot imagine handling those large wheels anymore. Its very easy to get used to and once you do (which will take you like 30 minutes) you will not want to go without it.
It seems only Renault makes vehicles with a "good" interior nowadays. Really hate this new PSA interior, just like the VAG ID interior is very quirky with that small gauge cluster. Renault seems to deliver a more traditional cockpit with a usable and quick infotainment screen
Agreed. Citroen and Peugeot go full with style and quirkiness, without thinking about function and ergonomics. I think the Renault and Nissan partnership has led to Renault making some nice cars, that retain their identity and remain more grounded.
- No one pedal drive, which impacts your driving style a lot. I really don't know why most journalist do not cover this. - No LFP battery, so you can't charge to 100% on a daily base . - You can't wirelessly charge two phones at the same time. + Good range, so good battery efficiency.
You can charge any EV to 100%, also NMC style batteries, at least when you intend on filling up and hitting the road soon after. You simply shouldn't charge it till 100% and leave it parked for several days. LFP batteries are the cheaper ones, not being allowed to charge other types to 100% is based on FUD and people justifying their budget-driven decision.
But why the enormous black border on the “floating eye cockpit” display? There is at least 2 cm at the bottom and 1,5 cm on the top; don’t mention the left and right ones🤦🏼♂️ If you are shorter than average, the display borders will block the view of the road while providing no value for normal-length or tall people.
Not for me but clever packaging at useful price points. I like small steering wheels, but hate the rest of the UI/UX. I respect the practicality of the design.

I swear that the 1,5 cm gap they have left between the door frame and the sunblind will burn your retina out. After that, you will have a permanent sunblind wherever you go with a no-return policy, and Peugeot has saved 0,8 💶 /🚙 in materials; what a great deal!
The design is great, but the functionality is a mess. You can't buy a car with such a lousy, unsafe and uncomfortable touch only panel. Again - nothing more than a quirky french niche car - yes, better than VW&Co but not worth the price.

You don't get used to the steering wheel. You either love it or don't. I can't imagine NOT having it. Absolutely love it.

I had a GT Premium for the last three years but rust developed on the bonnet and Peugeot were hopeless, so I have moved away from Peugeot now.
