Can’t understand why would design the rear camera to stick up and be invisible whole time. Why not hide the rear camera under the spoiler. Where is the roof spoiler? wich would make the look less bald…. There is so many ugly and wrong details witch make me question about is Porsches head of design fit to job….

@@concinnus These things are so stripped down at the starting price. It's basically a lifted Golf sized vehicle. Just get a car or hatch if you want great handling.

And for my part I already have a 1-ton midengine car, you don't need to tell me where to find handling. The Macan isn't for me, but acting like it offers nothing over a $60K typical BEV crossover is absurd.
@@concinnusThe base Macan does indeed offer nothing more than a 60k or even a 40k EV. In fact it offers less. If you get a very base Porsche of any model you don't even get cruise control. The base models are completely stripped of the features you would find on a 60k EV.

Loved the review Thomas, as a former Porsche Macan Turbo (ICE) owner myself I really appreciate this review you have done also comparing with the way the ICE Macan drives and other aspects like exterior and interior of the car. I want to see the rear wheel drive Macan EV review once available to really have a full comparison and then maybe go for a test drive. Gradually believing in EVs more and more as new models are released by Porsche
I also like the overhang of the combustion engine model better. Also the overall design doesn‘t scream Porsche like before, can‘t explain why, perhaps it‘s also the front design with the non oval headlights. Other than that: great car! - oh and you finally can fold the back seats from the trunk, Porsche listened!
the charging on both sides is actually damn useful. On my smart #3 brabus it's only on the left side, so when you park to an electric parking spot on the right side, you can only charge on the front spot, because the cable doesn't have enough reach for the rear spot. So that makes half of the parking spots available for me. Or, I'd have to spend another 200-300 euros on a longer cable, which also becomes very voluminous and wouldn't fit anymore in the under-trunk. So double charging doors are not just a gadget.
Macan buyers don't spend £100k plus on their cars. Good luck Porsche with that and it's an EV, so who on earth will want that. My daily is a Macan GTS, 23 model. Last one I'll own. Back to Merc or Audi for me and no doubt, many more Macan owners.
I want to actually spend that money. I love EV Porsche, but Taycan was too small. Besides this is SUV (or something) so I do not need Turbo. I will buy the basic Macan, I fill it with club leather and that would be a fantastic car. EVs are less complicated and more efficient. ICE (and I love my Z4 six-cylinder roadster) are almost obsolete now. And once the solid electrolyte accumulators roll out there will be no reason to buy ICE except for good ol' smoke and engine sound.
What I love about Autogefühl is you get the typical German car review with lots of attention to detail, but in a language you can actually understand. Thomas, you say that the Turbo is quite rough-riding. How about the regular Macan 4 with the air suspension, is it any more comfortable?
Nice looking car, it actually look's like a Porche and the performance is a big thumbs-up, it's a better looking car than the old looking petrol version.
The Macan has gotten way too expensive. It has been their best selling model, but 80 to 100k is 10k too much for that market segment. Porsche won't die, but they won't thrive either with this pricing. The Model Y will continue to kick butt in this segment.
based on reviews I've seen - interior is economy segment vs premium segment, handling and ride also economy vs premium. Model Y is undoubtedly good value for economy EVs
Spot on review!...but majority of Porsche fans would've preferred an updated fuel efficient ICE version or hybrid. Porsche be like "it'll be too costly to update the ICE platform"...meanwhile Audi....LOL yea might cost Porsche more now if this gamble fails.

Hi Thomas...excellent review, as always. There is another comment I think worth mentioning...why frameless windows on the new Macan ev?? Every time you open the door, the window lowers a bit, and when you close the door it raises again. Open the door too fast, and the window catches. Most folks don't mind them, but I had them on my 2012 BMW E92 M3, and hated them. It's done for weight saving and sporty looks, but isn't this still an SUV first? I know that all Tesla's, BMW ev's, and most sports cars have them, but Mercedes ev's for example don't. I'm going to take a close look at the 2025 - 2026 Mercedes EQC SUV when it gets released, and compare it with the Macan ev.
Looks like Chinese knockoff of a Porsche. I get that it’s a money grab, but come on, if I saw this for the first time outside I would’ve never guessed it to be a Porsche. Headlights look bland, but forget that, Why is the Porsche logo different colour for turbo versions just leave the legendary badge as is.

@@autogefuehl that would be a big red flag for me on purchasing the vehicle. I wonder if the fix can be something as simple as a drain tube at the bottom of that area, dropping out the bottom of the car.
(21:40) the sun reflecting off the rear spoiler would be really annoying in my rear-view mirror… putting a moving spoiler below the rear window of an suv is absurd … the ICE Macan has it right with an overhead stationary rear spoiler
I really hope sales numbers to be well down! Having an EV option is OK. Offering the Macan in EV only is idiotic. Shame, because the design is so beautiful...
The lack of one-pedal-driving unfortunately makes it irrelevant...what a waste since it looks gorgeous, seems fun to drive and has a delicate tactile/digital balance...
I am coming from Model 3 so the Macan 4 would actually be a serious upgrade. But I was wondering what will be your recommendation for alternatives to Macan that offer better comfort.
Its a bit surprising for the hard plastic materials on the bottom of door covers. Considering the price. Which is huge. At first moment it looked strange regards design, but through-out the video my eye had adopted and in fact in looks really good design-wise :)
Porsche missed the mark on the Macan EV by not having one-pedal driving. As someone who has become accustomed to EV OPDrive in stop and go traffic, this is a big miss. Road and Track said "this will cost Porsche sales". Those who know, know.
This is why Porsche is a luxury brand and is kept exclusive by the price, too...never sold in Millions like a Model Y, which is just a cheap car missing everything...Parking Sensor, Radar, Headup, Frontcamera, real knops etc...I could name at least 25 more missing features of this ugly complete naked car...
I wonder if the Turbo version might be more comfortable on smaller (less than 22") wheels? With our road surfaces here in the UK they would be an automatic avoid.
Hi Thomas, your thumbs should always be on the face/front of the steering wheel - not wrapped around it touching your fingers. Even in a low speed collision the steering wheel can spin it's full revolutions in hundredths of a second and will break both your thumbs. Have to say this is the only fault I find in any of your reviews. :) I wonder if the new 718 will be available with all the assisted driving aids of the Macan and a HUD?
Your comments regarding the sporty ride quality were interesting....it will be equally interesting to see if the Audi Q6 E-tron can be really comfortable and sporty at the same time. Also when you review the Audi could you please evaluate the augmented HUD....for me it's this kind of tech that might encourage me to open my wallet..!!..🤣
Seriously whos buying this car? Depreciation is over 50% in 3 years and finance is 11% APR. Make matters worse it needs 15k of options to be a normal car by todays standards Adaptive Cruise Control - Not included - Extra Bose Sound System - Not included - Extra Accoustic Glass - - Not included - Extra Self driving system on highways - Not included - Extra sunroof - Not included - Extra Paint - Not included - Extra Wheels Ugly or - Not included - Extra Sun protection glass - Not included - Extra Heated wheel - Not included - Extra Heated windscreen - Not included - Extra HUD - Not included - Extra 4 zone climate control - Not included - Extra Leather on seats - Not included - Extra Coloured leather - Not included - Extra Matrix LED Lights - Not included - Extra Comfort Access - Not included - Extra PASM - Not included - Extra Air suspension - Not included - Extra These are basic options where most of these come either standard on premium cars or a package option for a small upgrade cost. The above is OVER 20k GBP. So the basic macan 4 is a 90k cost plus 11% interest and a shit used value. You dont even get porsche engine you get motors from Bosch which are nothing special and not even the best on the market. The battery is prismatic which will be an insurance nightmare because one bang and its up in flames as its NMC Prismatic which are not impact resistant.
That's precisely why I opted in favour of the Ioniq 5N: clearly not as luxurious nor prestigious but does the job magnificently for a fair price considering the performance and the standard kit.
Macan 4 or a used Taycan ? I think I'll wait for the used market for the facelifted Taycan to compare, around 30% cheaper though spec for spec and there should be a lot of availability on the used market as the Macan is a high volume car by Porsche standards

I actually think that looks good on some cars. But my immediate thought was how poorly it was done here.
It's unification. Svaing of $$$. Lower placement means shorter reach of the low beam. Less safe noght driving.

There is another comment I think worth mentioning...why frameless windows on the new Macan ev?? Every time you open the door, the window lowers a bit, and when you close the door it raises again. Open the door too fast, and the window catches. Most folks don't mind them, but I had them on my 2012 BMW E92 M3, and hated them. It's done for weight saving and sporty looks, but isn't this still an SUV first? I know that all Tesla's, BMW ev's, and most sports cars have them, but Mercedes ev's for example don't. I'm going to take a close look at the 2025 - 2026 Mercedes EQC SUV when it gets released, and compare it with the Macan ev.

I get that it’s a money grab, but come on, if I saw this for the first time outside I would’ve never guessed it to be a Porsche. Headlights look bland, but forget that,
Why is the Porsche logo different colour for turbo versions just leave the legendary badge as is.
Hmmmm, in my opinion the previous macan looked so much better, lights looked more in keeping with other models, no clamshell bonnet and no ice 😢

I wonder if the fix can be something as simple as a drain tube at the bottom of that area, dropping out the bottom of the car.

(21:40) the sun reflecting off the rear spoiler would be really annoying in my rear-view mirror… putting a moving spoiler below the rear window of an suv is absurd … the ICE Macan has it right with an overhead stationary rear spoiler

The lack of one-pedal-driving unfortunately makes it irrelevant...what a waste since it looks gorgeous, seems fun to drive and has a delicate tactile/digital balance...
It looks really nice the new Macan, the lower rear part reminds me an old 911 turbo, is a shame that Porsche will not make a gas version.

Its a bit surprising for the hard plastic materials on the bottom of door covers. Considering the price. Which is huge. At first moment it looked strange regards design, but through-out the video my eye had adopted and in fact in looks really good design-wise :)

Porsche missed the mark on the Macan EV by not having one-pedal driving. As someone who has become accustomed to EV OPDrive in stop and go traffic, this is a big miss. Road and Track said "this will cost Porsche sales". Those who know, know.

I would take a Tesla Model Y and keep the change. The Porsche is nice but pricing is out of control.
This is why Porsche is a luxury brand and is kept exclusive by the price, too...never sold in Millions like a Model Y, which is just a cheap car missing everything...Parking Sensor, Radar, Headup, Frontcamera, real knops etc...I could name at least 25 more missing features of this ugly complete naked car...
I wonder if the Turbo version might be more comfortable on smaller (less than 22") wheels?

Hi Thomas, your thumbs should always be on the face/front of the steering wheel - not wrapped around it touching your fingers. Even in a low speed collision the steering wheel can spin it's full revolutions in hundredths of a second and will break both your thumbs. Have to say this is the only fault I find in any of your reviews. :) I wonder if the new 718 will be available with all the assisted driving aids of the Macan and a HUD?

Your comments regarding the sporty ride quality were interesting....it will be equally interesting to see if the Audi Q6 E-tron can be really comfortable and sporty at the same time.
Also when you review the Audi could you please evaluate the augmented HUD....for me it's this kind of tech that might encourage me to open my wallet..!!..🤣

These are basic options where most of these come either standard on premium cars or a package option for a small upgrade cost. The above is OVER 20k GBP. So the basic macan 4 is a 90k cost plus 11% interest and a shit used value. You dont even get porsche engine you get motors from Bosch which are nothing special and not even the best on the market. The battery is prismatic which will be an insurance nightmare because one bang and its up in flames as its NMC Prismatic which are not impact resistant.

Macan 4 or a used Taycan ? I think I'll wait for the used market for the facelifted Taycan to compare, around 30% cheaper though spec for spec and there should be a lot of availability on the used market as the Macan is a high volume car by Porsche standards
I think the macan 4 is way too slow for an EV so my plan is to wait longer to buy a used turbo
