Hi guys, it would be useful to hear about how you jack up the car in the first place. It’s a big car and quite intimidating to raise and support. Cheers.
Brilliant video lads , can you do an air stutt or diesel belt replacement, done my air strut on the front but have a dynamic suspension fault , believe I need to do a calibration on the car
Diesel belt is coming - i have just purchased an engine with a snapped crank so lets see if i can do the belt on the engine out the car.... to start with....should make it easier.... also be good to see why the crank snapped ?
So can you confirm, in the kit is 4 new sliders but no no bolts for the sliders which hold the caliper on. Other pad sets have new bolts and rattle springs, what's your thoughts on re using the old springs and bolts. I'm hoping to purchase this kit, do you stock rattle springs and caliper bolts. Regards matt
Hi - the kit contents is better detailed on the website www.powerfuluk.com/vehicles/land-rover/discovery-3/spare-parts/land-rover-discovery-3-front-brake-upgrade-refurb-kit-336mm.html New slider pins and bolts are included and springs,
That's the kit for discovery 3 though, have u a link for the 4....i looked the other day but the kit didn't have as much detail as the one you have shown for the 3 kit
www.powerfuluk.com/land-rover-discovery-4-front-brake-upgrade-refurb-kit.htmlwww.powerfuluk.com/land-rover-discovery-4-front-brake-upgrade-refurb-kit.html That's the one Im after, no mention or picture of of caliper bolts and I assume 4 sliders and wheel arch clips although only 2 of each shown, I'll call to confirm before ordering.
No fast forward for me, Good to know I am not the only on to fight the dreaded rusty bolt, Just spent most of Sunday changing bushes on the RRC, A impact gun helps.
Great vids Good Work - Can I ask do you know if this is the same setup for the Defender Puma? as I'm looking to do the same on my 2011 Puma Defender and can't find a vid on this anywhere
IF you are going to change your disks ( rotors ) - you can use a cutting disk on an angle grinder to put a slot right through the middle of the rotor retaining bolt - of course you will get a slot in your rotor too... but who cares if you are relacing them.... then use an impact driver with a slotted screwdriver head. The heat from the grinding will also help loosen
Great video, I am interested how do you find the wear rate of the pads based on the new disc arrangement? I heard you refer to the grooves as pad cleaners, so presumably it scrapes the surface, my concern (which is why I haven’t thought of doing these on a road car) is that you will be forever changing pads.
@@L663 good video I’m going to do mine within the Nxt couple of weeks be like working on my old cortina’s and Capri’s back in the day .. I’m glad my LD is the basic model with no stupid electronics all over the place that where it can end up costing money
Thanks guys. You two always put things together as we would want to do it, clear easy destructions 👍🙏👌
@powerfuluk Thank you for this video. A list of the tools that we will need to complete the job would be very helpful.
Brilliant vid, as ever. Useful to see real time.
Luv your Defender 😍👍 looking forward to seeing updates for it 👍
Great video gents, however you should replace the 12 sided bolts that hold the carrier to the hub and they are torqued to 275nm.
Hi Lee - this is a good point.
Is it possible to upgrade to a RR Sport Supercharged Brembo brake caliper without much trouble?
Good day chaps. Did you guys perhaps bleed the brakes after installing the new discs and pads? Thanks in advance.
You should torque those bolt to right nm

Hey anymore brakes repair on Toyota Hilux MK7 ???
I shredded my rotor retaining bolt. any idea on how to get it off now. Its been soaking in WD40 over night.

I do not do massive mileage... so i am not too worried... its a good point and one to consider but I still think it is a great upgrade.
are you planning to do front break upgrade to you Defender 110?
Hi - I did consider it but the brakes are super and also i want to keep my 18" wheels for offroading
Do you know where I can get bigger caliper and rotor upgrade from, I have 4 cyl. engine with small front caliper
YES
will this fit a 18 inch wheel on a lr4 ?
Hi - i dont think so with the bigger discs
@@L663 thx
You should of copper grease that begor disc on
Great video anything for discovery 5?
Hi - we need to buy a disco 5 but probably next year after they facelift ?
L200 upgrades please
"Anti clockwise" hahahahaha
Should used red stuff ceramic from ebc better.
Instead of the breaker bar a long ratchet would have been better and quicker
Way too professional for us !

IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE EASIER TO TAKE THE CALIPER FROM THE CALIPER HOLDER THAT WAY IS MORE FUN
NOT COPPER GREASE!!!!
