  • Hi folks, the Dell PW7018LC power bank has a few foibles that I felt needed to be pointed out, as the other reviews out there are just unboxing videos (useless!) or don't describe the functionality.

      It can add another 5 hours or so to an XPS 13 9320. It delivers the full 65 watts advertised at the advertised 65 Wh of capacity. How long it lasts depends on your device's power consumption of course. It charges at 33 watts, so takes about 2 hours to charge.

    Can you explain how to exactly charge the power bank itself? Do you have to turn it on? How long to fully charge it? What are the various ways to charge the bank? For instance, can you charge it with any old C phone charger?

    • @KaldekBoch
      @KaldekBoch ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Slightly less than one full charge I've discovered. Mainly due to efficiency losses via the DC-DC conversion within the USB-PD process.

      YES. it's a standalone portable power source.
      Up to 65wh
      Haven't used for laptop (charges upto 65w systems = *single time* 2 hours estimated laptop use 6-cell 65wh)
      I use for smartphones (just as fast as wall using built-in cord = rapid adaptive charging = 5+ full charge cycles for portable devices) *it's adaptive charging up to 65w* (only 10w MAX, if using USB port)

    The USB-C output cable from the power bank can’t be removed, correct? So if you wanted a longer cable to connect the power bank, you’re out of luck.

    • @KaldekBoch
      @KaldekBoch ปีที่แล้ว +1

      correct, but having used this for a while I think this is all part of the experience they're wanting people to have. That being, it's designed to be used in-line with power most of the time so it's kept topped up. It can be used to power things like phones but that's not the main use case.

    • @KaldekBoch

      You just plug the USB-C power supply into it. It has a USB-C port for charging it, and a USB-C cable for connecting to the laptop. The benefit of this battery is it can be charged while it's in use. It's connected "in-line" if you get what I mean.
