Just replaced the PCV valve on my 2017 Corolla. It wasn’t fun at all, but I’m not extremely mechanically inclined and still got it done. I definitely recommend having a 6 inch ratchet extension as well to help reach the valve itself. You have a bit more room if you just take the air intake hose off to begin with. Thanks for the video. It was a great help.
Es que todo esto se tiene que realizar para que limpies obligatoriamente el intake y el censor map para quitar toda suciedad todo es con con un propósito y el mecánico te lo tiene que explicar, yo como mecánico te lo digo.
Great tutorial, helped me a lot! Some advice from a guy who just performed this job. Blow the dirt off the intake manifold ports with compressed air before you even start taking bolts off. It's impossible to get everything with a vacuum and if you have a lot of miles on your car it's going to be very dirty.
I have seen videos to clean my throttlebody and even changed my master cylinder. I checked out your video made the repair and my idol is finally back to normal. Thank you for sharing this video.
Thank you for your video 😁 I had the same issue with the TB connector. Thankfully I caught it when i had it all apart. Did you have trouble getting that bottom manifold bolt to thread? It seemed like the threads on the block weren't perfect. I didn't do anything to mess them up. The bolt threads were perfect
Hello Sir, your video is one of the best I've seen. I have a question, will a bad PCV cause my corolla to over heat and radiator have milky white color. Engine oil is fine.
Engine oil is good. That's a good sign that the engine block is not cracked. Coolant that is milky and dull in color can indicate a significant issue with the head gasket that needs immediate attention. Head gasket repairs are not a DIY task for most vehicle owners. The PCV will cause an over pressure condition, but besides overheating, due to low oil, it should not affect the radiator fluid. I wouldn't drive the car until the radiator is resolved. Let me know how it goes.
I follow all you pro tips, everything ok, except that the , PCV i was afraid to strip it, I manage to screw it right, then the right bolt of the air intake on tge bottom, it washard to make it fit, did not want to srew, i use a bit of oil tosrew it, I managed to screw it right, One of the top nuts fell off, I could not find it, I will try a magnet, I can not see it, or buy a new one, The surprise was tgat my corolla has 144000kms first time i changed it, it was working ok like new, I changed it anyway, the intake was clean, the rubber seal like new, Thans for tge video
Just wondering if this valve is a problem with the 2AFRE Camry engines? I changed mine but didn't use a genuine Toyota valve and symptoms remained. It took me 5 hours due to the location of the valve, so I'll just get the dealer to do it. Great video!
It was an aftermarket brand. Losing oil like crazy right now. No leaks, no smoking, runs smooth. Could be burred cylinder walls. As far as the hose, I could've overlooked but I replaced anyway. It was a difficult DIY job.
Isn't there a coolant line that runs to the throttle body? Is it necessary to remove the hoses that run to the throttle body itself? If so, would you have to burp the cooling system? Hope that makes sense, sorry for my ignorance if I'm wrong here, and thanks for your video, will tackle this soon (hopefully). Subscribed!

Would the pcv going out be the cause of an emissions code being thrown? Ive gotta 2013 le 1.8 110k/mi on it and ive replaced all the purge valve lines, the purge valve, and the canister. It keeps the code clear for a bit now but doesnt stay off. Could the PCV be causing it? Thank you!
@@protipsplus it's throwing for a I believe a P0441 which is saying incorrect purge valve flow. I'm on purge valve #3, gas cap #2, replaced the evap canister, and the rubber evap lines for the entire system with fuel evap rated rubber lines. When I pull the line off coming from the canister there's no vacuum but when I pulled the feed line into the throttle body I feel positive vacuum. None of the lines are clogged tho as I can can freely pass smoke through all of them even the hard lines. I know the ohm rating for the evap purge valve and that's reading just fine, I however can't find the rating for the input voltage for the unit, it could be possible the pigtail is bad also, I just wanted to check to see if the pcv could possibly be playing part in the conundrum before I dig into anything harness related
Using 0-20 oil, approximately every 6 months or 5K miles. PCV valves are recommended from 35,000 -60,000 miles, with most being right at the 50,000 mile mark
Yes, I agree. This was one of my earlier videos. I've gotten better with my soundtracks. If you need assistance on something that is unclear because the music is too loud. Please ask.

I have never heard of having to remove all those parts just to get to a PCV valve; i love my Toyota but im hating it right now; unbelievable !!!

Greatly appreciate your effort in filming this repair.
Very clearly explained process to replace the PCV. THANKS!!
Big thank you for walking me through this. I replaced mine today😊
👏 Good to hear the great news!
Was wondering if the PCV hose should be replaced too before doing this job ?? Thanks !!
Not unless it has obvious cracks that can be observed on the outside of the hose. You can expect to get at least 100K miles from the original hose.

The PCV is a very simple component so would it be an easy process to clean it out so that it performs as it should, Thank you.
I'm a bit late commenting but considering the hassle of getting to the PCV valve and the low cost of the OEM part I would say just replace it.
I agree. I'm pretty sure I made that same recommendation in the video. Great comment!
Thanks is my wife car i have a 2000 tundra with is so easy but i will replace pvc in my babe car
Thank for your video! A great Video!. I' from Argentina. I need change this component, I have 130.000 miles.

Is it located in the same spot on a 2019 corolla?
Which engine does it use? e.g. 2ZR-FE, 2ZR-FAE, 2ZRFBE, there are many :).
@@protipsplus Mine is a dual VVT-i 1.8 l 2ZR 3040752 is the number on the engine. I done see any FE but i am going to assume it is a 2ZR-FE.
All sources point to the PCV valve being located in the same location.

Great questions. Using my method you won't need to remove the throttle body coolant line so no burping.
Thanks 😊
Do you have a video for replacing PCV Valve on 2020 and up Corolla, very very little info out there on doing that job.

Would you happen to have the torque spec for the throttle body bolts? 2014 Corolla LE, 2ZR-FE engine.
@@rodmartin8584 I don't.

The other gasket is not necessary to replace it???
