  • My 2011 Corolla was having an idling issue. By me swapping out the old PCV with a new PCV, the idle issue has disappeared. Thank goodness it was only a cheap fix!

You can also try the idle relearn procedure. Just look up toyota idle relearn and follow the steps. Spray some soap and water to see if any vacuum leaks.

What a hassle to change the pcv valve. You might as well replace the gasket while its open.

I just finished mine. Unbelievable they expect us to change this out every 30k miles. I got down to that last nut on removal and (of course) it dropped out of the socket down into the abyss. I spent 90 minutes doing the job..but almost 2 hours finding the nut's hiding place. On earlier models, they used to have the PCV valve right on top of the engine. It was super easy to change out. Not sure why they did it this way..very frustrating and just really bad engineering.

Agreed. Not sure why the engineers at toyota thought that relocating it under the intake would be a smart idea.

    2. Roll all 4 of your windows down and hold or roll 2 back up and hold??

@@bossadamsgarage have you ever had the ac recharged or had the compressor replaced? My cars got a grind that I haven’t noticed much anymore now that I start the car with the AC OFF. I haven’t recharged yet but air is weak. Might replace the compressor and look into upgrading cooling system parts along with coolant flush

I haven't replaced the compressor on this vehicle. I have only charged the system once before. Other than this studder problem, the car runs great with no issues.

I haven’t done this yet. I was looking on Google images to see where PCV was and stumbled on your video. (Very good video btw)
(Also my first time on your channel so not sure if other videos mention how many miles are on your car. + my $.02 mentioning engine code name might help someone narrow down if the video is for them. I have 2010 so I think we both have 2ZR-xx???

You need to clean your throttle body and also clean your fuel injectors throw a bottle of Chevron cleaner. The pcv won't fix this issue, but it is part of the Meintenance to change it. I have a 2015 Corolla

Try spraying some carb cleaner around the intake while it's idling. If the rpms go up and down the intake gasket is leaking. You probably shoud have changed it with the PCV valve. th-cam.com/video/NrT-FruVKxI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=m6IiASnEo7-PR2vr

It happened to me, it does sudden dropped change on rpm. It resolved by changing my car battery. I drive almost everyday, charge my phone, ac, radio most of the time. Even though the battery has 5 more months left on warranty.
I might also change the PCV valve and the gasket for 4 cylinders..
