This is the best version of this podcast IMO. Hip hop head convos w/ guests that had a hand in shaping the culture. Trackmasters are staples in this shit, glad to see them break down the history behind their careers & the classics. Well done 🍊💰
I'm a huge fan of the Trackmasters!! I'm probably there biggest fan bar none. It would be nice to get the whole team together for an interview. Frank "Nitty" Pimentel, who helped to start TM and was Poke's teacher, Richard "Kurt Gowdy" Pimentel (Frank's baby brother), Leshaun "DJ L.E.S." Lewis (Nas's childhood friend from QB), Dave Atkinson, Tim Riley, even Quran Goodman from Da Youngstas who was brought in later regardless of his fall out not long after with Tone. etc.
This episode is one of my favorites! TrackMasters had an epic run and I forgot just how many hits they produced. Didn't know about the behind the scenes roles they played either. Thank you for bringing them on.
Loved this episode. Learned a lot and really could appreciate the og’s stories and perspectives on newer things. Keep it up y’all, happy birthday hip hop 🥳
Salute 🫡 Y’all definitely killin it for the 50th a lot of the interviews y’all doing are 1st time stories at least for me at 42🫡 Keep doing y’all thing‼️
This really dope y’all 🔥 the information, and the questions to the guest brought some great stories about icons in the culture…respect yall the best hip hop pod frfr 🔥
Great interview. Alot of gems I didn't know. But Mal preferencing the producers/hip hop today question with all negative adjectives first would of course have them say there aren't super producers. There are plenty great super producers like a metro, hit boy, Justice League, Hollywood Cole, Kal Banx, Elite(Dreamville), Mike will, etc and not just beat makers now
Not gonna mention Steve Stoute kicking Cormega out the Firm cos he wasn't making money off his publishing? Nature was signed to the Trackmasters and Stoute so they replaced him. "It's the money."
I think u don’t understand Mal. He was arms length away from countless Legends across multiple fields. He’s seen what many have not. And he’s forged many relationships with people others would dream of meeting.
@@i_am_gohan9232 imagine every broad you run into just falling in your lap left and right. Then you run into one that isn’t moved by your celebrity/status. That sh-t would be intriguing to me, not offensive lol
Track Masters haven't been given their flowers enough in the past 2 decades so this is amazing

Hands down my favorite interview yall did. This made my night. I never seen the entire group of The Track Masters do a interview and it was golden…
The dopest producers/writers are always unassuming and chill. They were the Neptune's before the Neptune's
LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE STORIES!

TrackMasters!!!!!!!!! Thank y’all for this✊🏾
No hat Mal PLUS Trackmasters?? Oh this finna be FIRE 🔥🔥🚫🧢
Great interview. Would’ve loved for them to talk about those LL sessions.
To be fair it’s so much they could talk about. Adding the LL sessions, and many others would’ve probably added another 1 hour and a half lol.
Mal "I'm excited as well, I'm just being a ittle bit more cool about it." VIOLATED lmfao
Pretty cool how these guys became friends from tumultuous work environment 💪🏿👌🏿
This episode is one of my favorites! TrackMasters had an epic run and I forgot just how many hits they produced. Didn't know about the behind the scenes roles they played either. Thank you for bringing them on.
This might be my favorite ode to Hip Hop so far. Thank you fellas. Happy HH50!

Super dope interview. These guys hold alot of history. These are the type of people I like to hang out with and play my rare vinyl for. ❤
Been waiting on a Drink Champs episode from them, but I see Rory & Mal beat N.O.R.E to it. This sit down was amazing.
Don’t think NORE could do a quality interview needed with them.
@@KatoOnTheTrack1 “so, Steve Stoute brought Dre into the equation..”
“Gotdamn it. Let’s make some noise for Steve Stoute! 📢📣🥳”
Good shyt!!! Hiphop history right here! Great interview. Salute Track Masters
This interview was dead 🔥 and necessary. One of my favorite collective of producers ever. Super underrated.

More than three if you count all their ghost producers and producers that they ripped off
Likewise, thought it was just Tone and Poke.

I think Trackmasters l think QB period. Don’t even think I’ve seen their faces before wow. Thought it was just Tone and Poke.
What is the name of the gentleman furthest left?
Tone and Poke we need that Trackmasters NYC sound back.

Nah Rory was suppose ask Tone about that verse from the Brian McKnight and Kobe song 😂😂

“Hmhmm, Yeah, right, hmhmm” - Mal
It's not a flex my g. They're just on that level. It would be a flex if it were just here and there. The sun don't flex by shining.

Mal did not "remember that guy"
I love hov...but the fact he didn't want to do the remix cause Mya wasn't all over him or worshipping him is 😂🙄....you ain't God jay.
he was tryna fuck, Mya and her fam wasn’t having it😭🤦🏾♂️
You literally just called him "Hov"....🤷🏿♂️
@Fitzgeralduh and? He still ain't a God.
He could've been named big baby Jesus, he still ain't a God
That ego is a son of b**** man. A nigga who’s not egotistical, would’ve actually loved that she wasn’t all over him, makes it more organic.
