Most underrated hip hop producers…
They made some great beats
Trackmasters were my favorite producers in the mid-90s. Their run was unmatched. A lot of people scoffed at them at the time because they felt their sound was too slick and commercial, but they made some undeniable hits as well as street anthems. I’d even argue that after their stint working with Puff, he totally bit their steez. 😅 But I’ll always love their work on LL Cool J’s “Mr. Smith” album and Foxy’s “Ill Na Na.”
That beat for “Hey Lover” is so addictive and fire 🔥
It’s a great beat
Its hard to miss when you're sampling one of the best artists that ever graced this planet.
Yeah, that song is crazy good!
I know it from a 3 6 Mafia song also lol
Tone was/is a pretty decent rapper too (as Red Hot Lover Tone), loved his verse on Serch's 'Back To The Grill'. Had a copy of his debut album back in the day too.
OMG I never knew the I Shot Ya sample was from Lyn Collins. I gotta download that one!
The samples to Ill Street Blues are just incredible. I think that may be Poke and Tone's pinnacle production.
P&T produced some serious heat in hip hop and r&b.
Yes it’s a really good use of that Lyn Collins track. They definitely made some great beats during their time.
Great producers
Definitely
Ny state of mind, is a D.J. Premier beat!
yoooo that ill street blues used to be my faaaaaavorite track ever
It’s a great track
Yo Furio! Don’t sleep on that Foxy Brown album.. dope af. The track with Havoc is super good and there’s another track on it called “If I..” that’s really well made.. as always great job!
I’ve got it in my collection. I just didn’t have any interesting facts to add so I moved on. That’s all. Thanks for watching.
Word lol I thought were Draking that one lol
KRS didn't write FRIENDS for Whodini. I think it was credited to Larry Smith. I still have the cassette from back in the day.
Seems strange to me but he is listed on the Nas album and single as the writer of the Whodini instrumental on the credits
@@DJFurio On the Whodini "Friends [Instrumental]" it's written by Larry Smith, who was a part of the group
"Orange Krush" along with David Reeves [Davy-DMX] & Trevor Gale, who were the music behind Run-D.M.C.,
Whodini & Kurtis Blow. Orange Krush is where the "Krush-Groove" name came from.
Every time i hear “The Message” I think wow, my favorite Nas joint ever is NOT a Preemo joint. Off topic, IWW is arguably better than Illmatic
Not my favorite Nas song (but it’s up there), but agree about It Was Written being his best album.
It’s a great track. I still rate Illmatic as a classic album though
@@DJFurio Definitely. Both are classics for me
Blasphemy! Naw I'm joking. That is top 5 in Nas's and Trackmasters catalog. Salute!
The Message is a top 5 Nas song and IWW was great but don’t be silly. Illmatic isn’t just the best Nas album, it’s arguably the greatest 9 tracks (plus an intro) ever put together in music.
Trackmasters also produced Independent Women by Destiny's Child
This "Piano of love" track at the beginninh is so nice!!!
Thanks
AZs What the deal is so dope ! Under played
I like it
Great video. Thank you, Furio!
I’m glad you like it. Thanks

Furio was a genius man.
🔥🔥
Thanks for watching
@@DJFurio 🙏
🔥👌
Thanks for watching
Wats the track at 1:29 sounds like world is yours remix
What happened to them? Are they still making music???
Not doing much in recent years
Did Poke and Tone ever create original music? Every track I hear from them has a sample of someone else’s music. They have great sound quality tho. Their drums smack
30 seconds in. Whatever happened to them?
🙌🏽
NY State of Mind is a Premier Beat not Track Masters
Where did you hear that KRS-One wrote "Friends" by Whodini????
Check the credits on the Nas track and it says it used portions of the Friends Instrumental written by L Parker, which is KRS-One www.discogs.com/release/298151-Nas-It-Was-Written and KRS has also been given a writing credit on the Nas track along with several other people.
@@DJFuriothat has to be a mistake. When you search for “Friends” the only writers credited are Jahlil and Larry Smith.
It does seem weird I know. It’s listed on the single and the album releases of the Nas track too but just as the Friends instrumental
Wait a minute. Did you just say that KRS-ONE is the author of FRIENDS ??!!?
Sounds weird but on both the single and album credits of the Nas track, it says it used portions of Friends instrumental written by L Parker, aka KRS-ONE. Have a read of them
Credits can be a tricky thing. A lot of errors can be made. Kris ghostwriting for Whodini? Doesn't sound right to me.@@DJFurio
@gregorygriffin6341 I would agree and wouldn’t have bothered mentioning it if it wasn’t on both the single and album releases. It does seem strange though
The Xerox copy cats of the industry.
