Thank you so much! I love your presentation!!! Didn't have any idea of how to go about preparing or eating crab- now I can enjoy my Fresh Thyme Mkt. Frozen snow crab hot sale buy.
These are precooked. Only raw crab should be steamed for that long (not boiled). You only need to seam them for 3-4 min to basically warm them up. If you boil them, you only want to do so for like a minute. Turn off the heat. Let sit for 15-20 min. If you add seafood boil seasoning to the pot, that’ll soak in that good flavor as they cool
I learned just one day ago that cooking frozen is NOT the way to go. They need to come out of the freezer maybe an hour before time to STEAM. Remember , crab legs are already cooked at the cannery and flash frozen and shipped to you. Al you are doing is re-heating the meat. So, putting them in water frozen just makes it longer to cook. I like steaming better as it is hotter and quicker. I get my steamer pot going with the basket just above the water and I can do about ten pounds at one time. Chef Jerry Irmo South Carolina USA
Just to help u out alittle..if u want flavor in your crabs..season your pot with flavors..and boil for 15mins or twenty...when u cracked that leg you should have been able to pull that meat straight out..try this next time..
Honestly unless you are doing a large boil it makes way more sense to just make some seasoned butter and dip the crab in that it takes a ton of seasoning to even get alittle bit of the flavor through the shell
Ten minutes? That meat is gonna be a little hard to pull from the shell in one piece after that long. Shouldn't really reheat them longer than 5 minutes, it'll be a better eating experience. Remember, they're already cooked, so all you're doing is warming them back up
Tried that Ocean Catch once. Never again. There is a reason why these are in a sealed box where you can't see what is inside. Pretty much contains the rejects when compared to what you can get at the seafood counter. My favorite (aside from Alaska King crab) -- Dungenees. Or as my son refers to it - Dingyness.
As somebody who can't eat very often and has to mostly eat crab for nutritional purposes it's sad how expensive it is. Though I can only eat one to 2 legs a day it's still amazingly expensive at 9 to 13 a pound. Btw I run some hot water over them then 6 mins on the stove.
I wouldn't prepare any differently.. I can give you some tips on the cracking and pulling leg meat out in one piece. Has to be free from both sides. The hole you're going into and the joint. Break joint side of leg off. Now take back of standard bread butter knife and place it with handle out of palm. Nice taps center of section (a little bit harder than cracking eggs) until it cracks. Don't have to smash it. Take leg in L/R fingers and snap. The right side (hole side) should slide away revealing solid meat. Take that solid meat and gently pull it out from the joint side. VOILA>>> I like cocktail sauce over butter dipping. Easy..buy jar of horseradish in refrigerator section of grocery....if you can find some from Germany....the grow good radishes...Mix a tsp with 4 tsp Heinz Ketchup. This is how we made it at the Country Club where I worked during high school. Used same recipe all my life. Gonna boil up some legs this afternoon and will make the garlic/butter and put it on the table. Carlie C's had these crab legs for $7.99/lb. Had them in heavy zip lock bags. No label. Just deli cost tag. Probably get them in the back by the cartons. Usually $15.99/lb and a bag cost $34.00ish About 6-7 per bag.
Here’s an easy Mac and Cheese recipe for a nice side with this. th-cam.com/video/yFxhmzG1v_w/w-d-xo.html

Lol. Thanks Melissa, 😊👍
The butter looks so chunky u should hear it up way more
7 minutes is plenty. They are already cooked, and you're just heating them through.
Snow crab legs aren’t worth messing around with you want good crab legs Alaskan king is the best but of course more expensive
Alaskan king crabs have infinite expensive glitch
5-7 minutes at most.
You’re supposed to thaw them
You are not cooking them!! Frozen crab legs are already cooked on the boats. You are just heating them up.
Your basically warming them up but sometimes they might not be cooked depending where u get them
DO NOT BOIL THEM FROZEN !!!
Nooooooo thaw them out and season your water!!!
Sorry, I had to stop watching as soon as they touched the water. I feel like steaming is the only way to do this right. 😮
