This commentary is in my top favorites. The runner is so animated. He clearly enjoys what he's doing and despite his luck concerning the glitches, he keeps a good, relaxed mood throughout the whole thing. Good job.
Watched this purely for nostalgia. This was my first ever video game. Thank you runners for your work and to the donators. You're all beautiful people. I always enjoy the runs and all the luck in the world to the runners!
I haven't plsyed it in years. I couldn't even beat K. Rool when I was little. I kept failing on the shoe part because I didn't understand the toe pattern.
Definitely one of my favorites from the marathon as well. The whole run has a really comfortable and laid-back atmosphere that feels relatable to my experience with the game. I'd probably watch a 101% if he did one for AGDQ.
I'm not familiar with this game, but still found the run hilarious and interesting. Thank you for posting these, and next time I will tune in and donate!
For some reason i could never get past the tiny section of the final boss fight. glad to see this childhood game being mercilessly beaten. good stuff Cfox
***** Sorry to say that is untrue. From wikipedia: "As of now, Donkey Kong 64 is the only game in the franchise that has yet to be made available on the Wii Virtual Console, despite the fact that Nintendo retains full rights to the game as their intellectual property."
Ah, the Monkey Rap. That put a much needed smile on my face. I don't know whether this game makes me feel nostalgic or old. Eh, who cares? It's a great game! And to see something that took me hours to do as a kid, done in less than one hour. Pretty cool.
This brings back memories. I played a ton of DK64 when I was 10. I somehow managed to get 101% because I had 201 golden bananas. While you're inside the main island, there's actually a secret section where you can get into one of King K Rool's rooms, where one of the cutscenes takes place.
Because SPEED RUNS NEED CAPS FOR THEIR AWESOMENESS, IT CANNOT BE CONTAINED IN LOWER CASE WORDS. EVEN SOME OF IT JUST SPEWED OUT OF THE SPEeD RUN (FROM THAT E) AND IS MAKING ME CAPITALIZE EVERYTHING. GOOD DAY TO YOU SIR.
"Get ready to see one of the longest video game boss fights you'll ever see. 15 mins." Kingdom Hearts scoffs at you heartily, thinking you are precious.
"Oh, and by the way, I've got a rock in my pocket" Just that makes watching the whole run worth it. Actually, the whole run makes watching the run worth it.
I liken the claps when he gets the glitches right to when Bruce Lee scored those points during the afternoon spar with scarface on Enter The Dragon. I chucked when I thought of it. Good job man.
59:10 "Good Luck Cfox7, I hope that marathon luck isn't too strong!" hahahaha :) DK64 is one of my favorite games ever but i didn't realize how broken it is. wow That DK Moon Jump FTW
Damn this game is soooo broken! Only 2 golden bananas, they really weren't joking. I was hoping to see some of my childhood unravel but everything was skipped lol. I hope they do a 100% next year because this game is awesome.
Playing the arcade wasn't too bad. Took me 3-4 times to beat each version. Once it got to Crystal Caves, then I started to scream and bang stuff. Still, I managed and successfully beat it 101%.
I don't know if any one else had it but when i was a kid some McDonalds had a small tv faced down which had DK 64 and i always tried to run it. Good times :)
Only n64 game I owned that I loved and yet couldn't beat. For some reason I got stuck at a set of doors that required some sort of special coins to enter and I got the one for some absurd amount of points on the spaceman mini game then could never find the second. I don't know if that was an extra or part of the game but it effectively ended my run of it.
Know how one of donkey kongs bananas on frantic factory is to play the original donkey kong arcade game? Once u get that you have to play the game again this time on a higher difficulty then u get the second rare ware coin. It's absurd but pays off I guess :/
Elijah Paulk I see. I don't at all remember that arcade game. I know as a kid that god forsaken astronaut one took me a clean 4 hours to do because you needed such an insane amount of points.
Hm my girlfriend died of cancer she was 17 and we played dk64 the day before she died. Watching this video makes me happy that people speedrun this game its so fantastic well we cant change the sequence of our lives so yea
Heheh. Oh, for farting around after beating the game, I used to go up to Fungi Forest's island and practice my cannonball/belly flops. Many painful looking memories from that. XD
Me and my friend Claire have played this game since the freakin' 7th grade and we haven't even beat it. And were both juniors in high school now! Oh my. I feel so un-game-y. If that's even a word.

it's really around 44:30, but the explanation starts at 44:15 but (spoiler alert) when he says you really have to be unlucky so he'll probably be fine, and of course gets screwed over
I love these runs but you guys should really consider converting your screens so we can see more of the games. I'm not familiar with these people but I don't really care no offense. I want to see the cool stuff implemented in the game and the speed runner himself maybe. Not a group of random folks
If you want to see just the speed runners and the games covering the entire screen then you should head on over to speedrunslive.com/ All the random people you see in the video above are speed runners themselves and they all make the event much more enjoyable. Speaking of which, the next AGDQ (Awesome Games Done Quick) starts on January 5th. Go here for a list of all the games they are going to speed run and when they are going to take place gamesdonequick.com/schedule . The whole event is a lot of fun and it raised $448,423.27 for The Prevent Cancer Foundation at last years event.
This commentary is in my top favorites. The runner is so animated. He clearly enjoys what he's doing and despite his luck concerning the glitches, he keeps a good, relaxed mood throughout the whole thing. Good job.
He has no style
He has no grace
This kong
Is ROLLING AROUND AT THE SPEED OF SOUND
This kong, is a fucking discrace.... 2fast4me
HE CAN HANDSTAND...

To fire his coconut gun.

Watched this purely for nostalgia. This was my first ever video game. Thank you runners for your work and to the donators. You're all beautiful people. I always enjoy the runs and all the luck in the world to the runners!
It's the best video game ever. It wasn't until 4 months ago that I could fully beat it 101%.
I haven't plsyed it in years. I couldn't even beat K. Rool when I was little. I kept failing on the shoe part because I didn't understand the toe pattern.
Okay, yes... K. Rool even at my age now was a pain in the ass to beat. That particular part of it made me confused too. Had to look up now to do it.
This is one of the best sped runs done by this channel! The commentary was good (which is new in speed runs) and the glitches were funny
To watch 90% of my childhood done in 1 Hour is amazing ;)
You only played one game for 90% of your childhood?
templetonbob I was a Poor Child.
That's Brutal
Dont forget Pokemon
i got the same feeling
"It's like a 1% chance of getting a fake key"
*gets fake key*
BaronNedTheFirst At what time is that good sir?
+jackee jeffries about 42:39
+BaronNedTheFirst Bad luck at its finest.
+TheMasterklutz Game it up 43:59 *

This game was my childhood. Never beat it tho. Always wanted to get back to finally finishing it
He has
☒ Style
☒ Grace
☑ A Funny Face
But will he stretch his arm out, just for you?
@@Grimblesmith yes
remember beating this game when I was 7 took me 3 months to do it and I was so relieved best game on the 64 I've played
Leo Garza I own dk 64 it took me at least 2 years to finally beat it
Run starts at 7:52. This ruined my childhood :( The glitches are too strong
google sv3rige
I love this run. Runner gets boned over at literally every facet of the game and still goes through with a smile and a good attitude. Awesome stuff!
I was playing this game in the basement while all the adults were celebrating the new millenium...... :D
Hahahahaha I remember I was playing this with my cousins that day aswell! The battles were so fun
Man I have never seen a speed run for DK 64!(I've seen 100% runs but not a run like this!) Thank you so much for uploading!
"Now for the longest boss fight you'll ever probably see in a video game - 15 minutes"
Someone's never fought any boss in Monster Hunter.
That fake key part was too good.
Definitely one of my favorites from the marathon as well. The whole run has a really comfortable and laid-back atmosphere that feels relatable to my experience with the game. I'd probably watch a 101% if he did one for AGDQ.
Just discovered u guys a week ago and have been watching nonstop since. Ill be sure to catch the NEXT event :)
I'm not familiar with this game, but still found the run hilarious and interesting. Thank you for posting these, and next time I will tune in and donate!
Starts at 7:55
you're hot
john fkennedy thx bby
john fkennedy Thanks.
Brittney Klatte Starts at 2:21
For some reason i could never get past the tiny section of the final boss fight. glad to see this childhood game being mercilessly beaten. good stuff Cfox
The first speedrun I ever watched, and still to this day my favorite.
I know it wasn't a great time for him but that was highly entertaining, thank u
Am I the only one who's upset that they still haven't made another full-fledged 3D DK game? This one was so much fun
They need to remake the game for 3ds
Yeah i agree i mean they brout oot, mm and starfox to it why not dk64 3d
***** Check out an upcoming game called Lobodestroyo. I've been following the project for a year and a half and it looks like what you're looking for.
***** if that's true how did Nintendo remake Diddy Kong Racing on DS? You just pulled that out of your ass.
***** Sorry to say that is untrue. From wikipedia:
"As of now, Donkey Kong 64 is the only game in the franchise that has yet to be made available on the Wii Virtual Console, despite the fact that Nintendo retains full rights to the game as their intellectual property."
DK rap 3ds needs to be, I want my quality lanky
this is the speedrun that got me into speedrunning thank you cfox
I got into the DK Rap when you guys started singing it lol. Good show
I was both cringing and in hysterics during the D.K Rap. Great to see so many of them "keeping it real". :D
Ah, the Monkey Rap. That put a much needed smile on my face.
I don't know whether this game makes me feel nostalgic or old. Eh, who cares? It's a great game! And to see something that took me hours to do as a kid, done in less than one hour. Pretty cool.
The nostalgia is strong with this game xD I remember starting this game over and over but never finishing it. I wish I still had a N64
Project 64
This brings back memories. I played a ton of DK64 when I was 10. I somehow managed to get 101% because I had 201 golden bananas. While you're inside the main island, there's actually a secret section where you can get into one of King K Rool's rooms, where one of the cutscenes takes place.
This runner is great! Great attitude and a great sense of humor :)
thanks for puting these up in the past 3 days ive watched over 12 hours haha is that sad?
the donation reading in the end killed it for me. entertaining up to that point though!
15 mins."
Kingdom Hearts scoffs at you heartily, thinking you are precious.
"The only thing you need are really long arms."
I think I got that covered. ;)
longarmsshow i got three, beat that
"Oh, and by the way, I've got a rock in my pocket"
Just that makes watching the whole run worth it. Actually, the whole run makes watching the run worth it.
Best intro to a video game
Them tricks. "By the way, I have a rock in my pocket."
It's fun to watch everyone's faces light up at 44:39. lol
The nostalgia is real.
I liken the claps when he gets the glitches right to when Bruce Lee scored those points during the afternoon spar with scarface on Enter The Dragon. I chucked when I thought of it. Good job man.
This was so entertaining to watch, I had no idea this game was so broken.
he is the most entertaining speed runner i have ever seen the last part of the video "oh by the way I've got a rock in my pocket" was the best!
59:10 "Good Luck Cfox7, I hope that marathon luck isn't too strong!" hahahaha :)
DK64 is one of my favorite games ever but i didn't realize how broken it is. wow
That DK Moon Jump FTW
Congratulations, Tres Long
DK64 any% is less than 30 minutes now. Someone needs to do it at another GDQ. It's changed a hell of a lot.
Damn this game is soooo broken! Only 2 golden bananas, they really weren't joking. I was hoping to see some of my childhood unravel but everything was skipped lol. I hope they do a 100% next year because this game is awesome.
Sadly, it isn't even being played next time. If you want to see what games they'll be playing here's a Link: marathon.speeddemosarchive.com/schedule
A lot of collect-a-thon and 3D platforming games have breaks like this SOMEWHERE in them.
The older ones even more.
That opening song was the cringiest thing I've seen all year, but I honestly could not look away... Truly a masterpiece😂😂
Nobody ever has bad luck during a run.....until agdq lol.
Greatest game ever for the 64
44:39
Press F to pay respects
I remember When I Got this Jan 2000, I was Stuck On Mad Jack Boss fight for like 3months
Whoa! I apparently donated during this block, and Spike really mangled my name. XD
No idea of many glitches, is very strange how use the memory of the game, awesome job.
one of the toughest games i have ever played
Playing the arcade wasn't too bad. Took me 3-4 times to beat each version. Once it got to Crystal Caves, then I started to scream and bang stuff. Still, I managed and successfully beat it 101%.
And that was? :(
Iqbaljit Singh you're trash then
Run starts: 7:53
I don't know if any one else had it but when i was a kid some McDonalds had a small tv faced down which had DK 64 and i always tried to run it. Good times :)
"Oh, by the way, I've got a rock in my pocket."
cfox is the lost Tsarnaev brother
Even I a lot of the glitches didn't work out, this was still very entertaining. The key thing was hilarious
Only n64 game I owned that I loved and yet couldn't beat. For some reason I got stuck at a set of doors that required some sort of special coins to enter and I got the one for some absurd amount of points on the spaceman mini game then could never find the second. Randy Savage Yeah that and the freaking Beetle races are the hardest things in the game for me to beat
+Elijah Paulk BEAVER BOTHER THO
Hey randy, SLIM JIM
Is that a boulder in your pocket or you're just happy to see me?
I miss this game so damn much.
My favorite thing about this speed runner is that he doesn't sweat it at all if he messes up.
"Alright! First try!" *2 second later* "Fuck!"
its amazing how people manage to find those glitches and tricks
at 26:31 it works almost consistently if you have your camera angle right to the ground like parallel, I think it creates more lag
Miss dat game :,D my childhood iis reborn ;)) thx yu
i know a way u can play it again
How ?? 😨

Run starts at 07:50
Heheh. Oh, for farting around after beating the game, I used to go up to Fungi Forest's island and practice my cannonball/belly flops. Many painful looking memories from that. XD
Great run, unlucky with the key :) but never mind, still blew my mind!
so looking around online, this is the fastest (any%) run of dk64 i've been able to find
Me and my friend Claire have played this game since the freakin' 7th grade and we haven't even beat it. And were both juniors in high school now! Oh my. I feel so un-game-y. If that's even a word.
One HELL of a guy!
objectively the best dk64 just for the dk rap
favorite game as an 8 year old
c'mon cranky, take it to the fridge
God bless you guys!

I thought I was a nerd. These guys set up a new standard. I'm not a nerd anymore :,(
First time watching a DK 64 speedrun! WTF is wrong with me?!
Only real 90s kids know every Damn word to that intro.
Mad Jack is the reason i hate 3D Platforming, but love it at the same time
Oh by the way...I have a rock in my pocket * pulls out boulder * XD
That moment when you realise swimming from the imprisoned dinosaur to Jungle Japes is faster than warping with the 1 pad.
it's really around 44:30, but the explanation starts at 44:15 but (spoiler alert) when he says you really have to be unlucky so he'll probably be fine, and of course gets screwed over

that intro brought back so many memories... 2:20
What happens if you get inside K. Kool Rool's battle arena without all 5 Kongs?
"theres like a 1% chance so you have to be pretty unlucky" *flubbed it*
Beat this game a couple of years ago, but never knew about the rainbow coins.
this is amazing
Migool ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
