HI Vanessa, this was a great, fun video. More importantly, I’d like to congratulate you on your tremendous growth, video presence, and success on TH-cam. I first started watching you around 2012, I believe, when I first taught myself to sew. You played a big role in that evolution for me. When I first saw you, I hope you’re not offended if I say that you looked very young, and you were just getting going, but doing it very well. Now, you blow me away with your camera presence, your charisma, your teaching skills, and your very kind personality. I wish you many more years of continued success. I hope you achieve all your dreams... keep it up...

totally agree on all point- especially the very young..but I soon learnt it was her keen spirit and organisational skiils that kept me watching and bring me back to patchwork in my retired days. I owe you a lot..muchisimas gracias vanessa

I have watched many videos on TH-cam with many different people showing how to sew and I honestly feel that you are the most thorough instructor and explain why you do things the way you do but also give options if we prefer to not do them. You are fantastic and I REALLY APPRECIATE you. A fan forever. Please don't ever stop your tutorials. Thank you and God bless you.

Ive always struggled the most with the boxed corners! I’m going to have to give your method a try for sure! I’ve avoided bag making because I’m more of a machine quilter and not the greatest at piecing. Thanks for the tutorial and the inspiration! I learned how to sew on your channel in 2012 and have followed Angela faithfully since I made the leap into machine quilting in 2013. You ladies have been such a blessing to so many!

Thank you for your skill, enthusiasm and sheer personality. You have encouraged me to get back into sewing after a 20 year absence. Why weren't my teachers like you?
For people looking to get good fabric cheaply and pretty ethically try buying curtains at charity shops. I've found beautiful stuff that transforms bags and other craft projects in a way l couldn't otherwise afford. And this way my money goes to a good cause as does whatever l raise selling my stuff.
See Vanessa - all because of you!

Thank you Angela. I'm on a quest to re-purpose my 22lbs cat food bags into shopping tote bags. My one alteration on your presentation would be to better attach the handles. Those would not do for even a day in my use of tote bags. From books to groceries, I load them up, and tie the handles around my bicycle handle bars. So they've got to really "be" there!
I love your gift of layout and style, I think you've got a head for it. And you're using it well!

Vanessa I do something like this on a quilt group I have on facebook. I call it the brown bag swap. We put 2 FQ's and a dozen jelly roll strips (2 1/2" X WOF) in a brown paper lunch size sack or a plain mailer envelope. Then mail them to an assigned person. They take the fabrics and make the sender a gift with them. Then mail the gift back to the person who sent them the fabrics. I just finished making a mat to go under a sewing machine for the gal who sent me her fabrics. It's a fun swap. Love your bag and the one that Angela made for you too. Thanks for all your neat tutorials.

Hello Vanessa! Great tote! I want to share a tip that I use. It helps to lightly wet your fingers when you are trying to get the side and bottom seams to the edges before pressing. The wet fingers help grip the fabric and roll the seam right to the edge. Then you can press and the seam is ready for the 2nd stitch of the French seam.

Thank you for the tutorial. I also like your rulers. I made this bag but it took me 3 hours. . . it is beautiful. . .lol. I gave this bag to a friend and she loved it. I watched Angela Walters tutorial also. I am not a quilter, so her bag looks a little complicated. I'm going to use one panel of her braid pattern and follow your instructions for the size of the bag. Looks like I'll have to line the bag. Maybe it will be reversible. So much fun. . .
