  • In this WIP Wednesday episode I'm working on some gifts for the holidays. You can never go wrong with a cute zipper pouch! These are for kids so I like to whip them up using a technique that makes them the quickest zipper pouches to whip up! You can use quilting cotton fabric, cork, vinyl, faux leather, etc. Pretty much any woven or stable fabric will work. Tune in to see how I make them and I'll share more tips with you, too!
I already have a video tutorial where I show you how to make these here:

    • The woven fusible interfacing I use is this one: bit.ly/2zZwrr6
Join Vanessa, the Crafty Gemini for another episode of WIP (work in progress) Wednesdays!
This is a fun, laid back live event where she works on a project, talks about what she's making and answers some questions from the live audience.

I've been sewing since I was in 4th grade. I'm 72 now. You are my go-to-girl. If I'm struggling, I look you up and I have learned volumes from you. YOU ARE AN EXCELLENT TEACHER. Excellent.

I have to say that this is by far THE best zipper pouch tutorial. After I watched this video, I whipped out 6 pouches in an hour. They are perfect! The pattern is very forgiving if you are new to working with zippers. Thank you for sharing!!

Many years ago I wanted to learn how to make a zipper pouch. Yours was the video I followed to make my first pouch:) I had made lots of clothing for my children for many years, but not accessory type things. I think one of your kids was 3 years old at the time. Even though Ive been sewing since I was 16 (I’m 70 now), I still learn things from you:)

Jenny, this pouch tutorial is the one I come back to over and over! I have made several of them already. I just love them, especially the zipper end tabs! That just makes the pouch look so much neater. Thank you...

I have to laugh when you talk about us ppl who "have a serger...in a box...in a closet...". I honestly purchased the tights course from you just cuz you were including serger lessons & I knew I'd be able to finally learn serging from you. 🤗

You made me smile when you said if you have your serger still in the box or closet. My sewing machines and serger are in the closet because my husband turned a closet into a sewing room with shelves and storage peg boards. 😀😄

What can you use to help with the pull. I find kids have a hard time grasping the zipper pull? The pulls I brought won’t gonthru the little hole.
