I'm calling bullshit on the being a professional hair stylist. I refuse to to believe a hair stylist would do something like this. Also I love how she blatantly lied about how much it lifted out of her hair. Girl, we can literally see it

We sometimes use purple shampoo on grey horses. There are so many people who left it on a mane/tail too long before washing it out and ended up with a purple horse. It would be so cool to see Hair Buddha react to a couple of those. They usually end up pretending it was on purpose and going for a fantasy unicorn look

@@meadowsmama94 of course, they are shampoos made specifically for horses. A purple one for greys, a coppery/golden one for chestnuts and a blue-black for black horses. They're meant to just enhance the natural colour but sometimes it goes awry.

That is so funny! I used to spend a lot of time around and in horse shows, but I never was in the costume classes, so now all those slapped together unicorns, pegasus... (what's the plural of Pegasus?! 🤣), and seahorse themes make SO MUCH MORE SENSE and it's hilarious. I mean, some of them were *amazing* and very well thought out, but many of them were sloppy, so this is a great explanation. Thanks for pulling back that curtain and showing life behind the scenes. 😂 Man, I miss those days! 🥰

I went to a professional to get my hair done.... Was supposed to be bleached out with a root melt. She grabbed the wrong color and I ended up with fashion color blue hair and it wasn't even or anything over my hair. I left in tears when she told me she wouldn't fix it and all I had to do was wash my hair with baking soda a few times. Sometimes when you have the label "professional" your probably a professional in the wrong professional lol I ended up lifting the blue out and bleaching it myself! It was a process though! And FYI, baking soda ruined my hair more than actually bleaching it. I agree with you Hair Buddha!!

I haven't met him but I truly believe he is passionate about proper hair care and techniques plus he cares about people. This is his channel so he has the right to express his opinion before all others. But his focus is honest feedback and advise ... basically 'keeping it real'. He is genuine. This recipe originated from AKA Aislinn. She did it a few years ago to remove hair color from her own hair. She warned people in the comments that it could be damaging and to try at their own risk. A lot of people commenting it seriously damaged their hair and not to try it. Aislinn has since moved on to other methods for removing hair color like actual hair color removers. She did go through a period of extremely damaged hair and ended up getting extensions. The hair hack is still floating around years later and people probably don't even know where it came from originally and that she had quite the disclaimer along with it.

I was thinking with the dish soap. They literally use dawn to remove oil from birds in oil spills. To me, that says that removing oil from stuff is its strongest function. So, someone said hey, I think that stuff would be really good at removing unwanted pigments in hair, even though it seems like it would just make your hair drier than the Sahara desert. I really don’t know how that makes any sense.

I was never good in chemistry but I when I saw what she is mixing together I was seriously afraid something bad might happen. Even if you think this is "just" household stuff it can be quite dangerous to mix it with different kind of substances.

@4:52 your reaction to what she said is PRICELESS! I laughed so hard because I also must have had the same expression >_<
I question why, as soon as the semi-permanent dye is gone, do they not wash the product out? Why leave it on longer? All it's going to do with more time is do more damage. I also do not understand why so many people insist on dish soap & purple shampoo as well as the sodium bicarbonate. ((shrug)) It is the peroxide in the developer that lifts the cuticle of the hair & without a pigment added, it will not deposit color but will remove it.

Never ever EVER take advice from a "professional" that tells you to use hair-damaging concoctions...like the one mentioned here. While we can clearly see the grey/yellow result, she would have us believe her concoction worked, giving her an icy blond end result...which it clearly did not. 🙄🙄🙄

“Professional stylist” = she likely watched tutorials, made hair vids on social media, earned money from them and thinks earning money from something now qualifies her as “professional” in the way a visual artist can self qualify as a “professional” by selling art without having the academic knowledge, training or diploma to make it.
No professional over complicates a process with unnecessary ingredients.

I removed a lot of box dye using vitamin c and purifying shampoo (this was before i found your channel). However it didn't remove it all. I was planning on bleaching my hair and dying it blue but after removing the dye I decided to leave my hair alone after realizing that my hair is damaged and bleaching would destroy my hair. I'm glad that I found your channel before attempting a bleaching because I didn't know what I was doing and know I can't do it myself. Currently not planning on doing anything with my hair aside from trying to get it healthier.

Hello! I started to watch your videos for some time now, great educational and entertaining content! when im doing something and have option to split screen i always watch your reactions, really amazing and in some way terapeutic videos :D
I do have one question here, if the developer is the one to lift the color, then what is the role of bleach powder?
I mean, name shows, its to bleach, but then, you said developer can turn her roots into orangey? so developer itself can bleach hair in a way? bleaching powder is to speed or enchance results/process? im confused about it and tried to find answers but couldn't, maybe you can cast some light on?
    thank you in advance!

I would love to see you react to Aka Aislinn! She has a bunch of videos using vitamin C treatments to remove color, where she doesn't use any bleach or developer, just ground vitamin C tablets, dandruff/clarifying shampoo, and a little liquid dish soap. She's also done some videos comparing this diy method to products like Malibu CPR, which are basically the same thing. She is a licensed hairstylist and does a great job explaining things and showing how to color your hair at home in a realistic way.

Hi Hair Buddha, I really enjoy your videos!
I just want to post a CAUTIONARY🚨WARNING about mixing chemicals or mixing common items not typically thought of as chemicals.
Regarding DAWN dish soap, (*important because it’s not printed prominently on the front label) DAWN dish soap contains AMMONIA, which is the effective ingredient in removing animal fats or petroleum based oils and grease. Many people don’t realize the dangers in mixing ammonia and the common household cleaner chlorine bleach will create ⚠️DEADLY toxic fumes⚠️
I personally don’t know if HAIR BLEACH or Volume Developers have the same chemical make up as household chlorine bleach but one should use EXTRME CAUTION when mixing chemicals or poorly labeled products together, especially in a poorly ventilated area.
Many of us probably didn’t study chemistry in school or think of common household ingredients such as salt, baking soda or vinegar as chemicals or consider that combining them with other ingredient could cause harmful fumes or burns when mixed with an opposing ingredient.
As an example 🚨WARNING (*again important because it’s not printed prominently on the label) Be aware, some household bleaches are labeled as “BLEACH” but are in fact the chemical PEROXIDE. Here in the US, I bought some bleach for cleaning, which was clearly labeled as “bleach” but it didn’t smell like bleach or have the slick texture of household bleach and it was not working like bleach. Upon closer inspection of the label, it did not say CHLORINE BLEACH, in tiny type at the bottom of the label it said it was peroxide. Peroxide does “bleach” but it is not the same chemical as chlorine bleach.
    Thanks again Hair Buddha
    Be cautious and be safe!

Thank you for your comment! I was told from a young age never to mix soap and bleach yet I have seen many people do it. At my old job an older lady would mix dish soap and bleach to clean the kitchen. It was horrible the fumes made me feel sick but I was afraid to say anything to her.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 your face when she said she was a professional hair stylist. The key weird they is stylist. Not hairdresser right? A hair stylist is a different thing. I can call myself a hair stylist because I style all my families hair in some great she's, and dye mine and my daughter's hair regularly and never made a giant F up. Infact I just did a black and red ambre for my daughter and I've had comments on how great it looks, and dyed my own hair purple red and blue and it looks fabulous 😁😁❤️❤️ toot toot, blowing my own trumpet haha
