I love that you're covering these really deep cuts that we want to know more about. I was super happy to hear you say you prefer the "Subject to Change" version. I always thought that one had much more aggression. Also wanted to note that this song actually features multiple parts that found their way into other songs. The bridge part vocal melody and lyrics (So how long has this gone?) is also present during the ending of "No Reason". Just in case Steve forgot that part.

Subject to Change has been one of My top 3 favorite Sum 41 songs since the first time I've heard it
Nice! 🤘
:O Im so glad i found your channel! Noots and Subject to Change are prime Sum 41 for me! I was having a terrible fever in 2010 when you were in Finland but with the power of finnish alcohol i managed to see my favourite band live!!
Never underestimate the healing power of booze 😂
Always blew my mind that this song didn’t cut it originally. Absolute fave of mine but always felt like a norttyy Limewire mongerer by playing it 🥹😅
You gotta do What you gotta do 😂
@stevo32drums approval from the man himself hopefully will keep me from going to hell 😂. Enjoying the vids dude!
0:33 I was driving to work after watching your "cover" of noots, on comes noots. Happy times!
Nice!
This brings the happy, im mainly a guitarist but I play drums too and that performance is inspiring.
That's cool! Thank you!
Not only did they play it live as an encore… the very next show it made the setlist!! One of my new FAVORITE songs! Thank you Stevo for these videos !
That's awesome!
Subject to Change is literally my favourite Sum 41 song - can’t believe it was a bonus track. Underclass Hero is good too, but the chorus and verses just rip so much harder in StC - great to see you play it!
Cool! I agree! Thanks for watching 🤘
Thanks for playing Subject to change I was one of the many to request it. I believe we Definitely wont see this on a Sum41 set list on their final tour.
That's a shame! At least they played Noots! Thanks for watching!
@stevo32drums deryck knows everyone been requesting Noots. I am not sure if Subject to change is as popular as Noots is.
This is goodbye from Underclass heros bonus tracks would be sick to hear! The drums on that whole album were just ridiculously on point
I never ever comment a video, but man, if one day you remember about I'm not the One... Best snare shot in the music history. And I never see it played either or talked about.
I'll have to re-listen for that! I don't remember the snare shot -Thanks for commenting!
This is my first time hearing this song. Just wow! What a song! I agree, I think I like this one better than Underclass Hero.
All these years i thought in was going crazy… no way sum41 would use a chorus twice!! It all makes sense now! Would love to see you play once more when the come over to Australia.. or even have guest vocals for pain for pleasure😂🙌🏻
Thanks for bringing the song to my attention. I didn't know it exist. Would be great if you could play with your old band at their last concert now that you practiced the songs ;)
No brains live video from Tokyo is one of the best combo song-live since the first time I heard it after the original song in the album! one day cover of it would me amazing ^^
I like that version.. I also like the breakdwon from the live in london show .. will do that soon!
Steveo, please do a memory lane down Pain for Pleasure soon! We would all love to see it!
I didn’t even know Subject to Change even existed until 3 days ago. It’s definitely rekindled the flame to why I listened to you guys in my younger days.
You nailed it! Stevo! I hope you will perform at one of the concert with the guys. 😁🙏🤞
Thanks!
Whoooo!! This is my favorite side of Sum. Its still punk41, but just has that darker more metal edge. Definitely dig this version more. Nice work, homie. Much love. Also, I guarantee somebody's watching you. 100 percent.
Yeah I prefer this sound too ... It's way more rockin.. Thanks for watching 🤘
Oh man! I remember listening to Subject to Change on my MP3 while on college. it's actually one of the songs that got me into playing bass
That's awesome ! Cone would be happy !
Since 2004 I had an "unofficial" version of CHUCK album on MP3 with this song as a bonus track. Being listening to this song since 2004 and always thought this is the regular song from the album. This was the pre-last song and the last was "Slipping Away".
Straight up, very sick. Hearing alternate versions of shit always gives me the vapors.
Would love to see you go marathon mode and do a full record ( *CHUCK* ) in a video. Would watch.
I'll dig through the crates and find some more .. People have suggested a few good ones I forgot about
I said it before and I'm gonna keep saying it. MR Amsterdam from does this look infected is my hand down favorite drumming you've laid down. The drumroll and jam with the double kick at the end. So good
Yeah that one is badass I will do it soon! 🤘
@stevo32drums omg you replied. Your legit the only TH-cam ( it feels wrong calling you that ) that I've ever been stoked to comment back! Please do that album was legit my childhood I went to that tour when I was in grade 5 with my mom it was epic then the go chuck yourself tour!!!
One of my favorites sum 41 songs ❤. Also, I would love to hear Back Where I Belong,!
I don't remember that one ... will check it out!
Thanks man!
Thank you Stevo for posting these videos as I’m in my journey in drumming and starting a band, but also reliving my childhood from “Noots” and “What we’re all about” as I found out about Sum 41 because of the marvel movies, but “Hell Song” as well because my dad would always watch that music video, but also inspiring me to do the dumb things as well even tho I shouldn’t
I'm happy to hear about the drumming influence! That's awesome! Thanks for watching my man! All the bet to you! 🤘🤘
Thank you Steve your videos are great
Thank you!
That chorus reminds me of No Reason which absolutely rips. It’s that quintessential Sum41 sound.
The chorus is the same as Underclass.. maybe the verses are similar to No reason? I have to listen to no reason again 😂
One of my favourite songs of all time! It's unreal 🔥
It rips! thanks for watching!
Thanks Steve, this was surreal, had no idea this chorus existed before, amazing to hear this in a completely different song (for the first time).
Please do the Half hour of Power drum solo next.
Cheers 👍
Thanks for watching! 32 ways to Die is on the list!
I'd never heard this before. The verses and the bridge have a very Screaming Bloody Murder album feel to me. Dig it.
🤘🤘
I love this song!! Thank you so much 🤙
This song is awesome.
Thank you stevo for this awesome cover
No worries! It was fun to play again 🤘
Amazing! I never thought this song had also the outro from No Reason. It's always cool to discover the roots of our favorite songs. I love your videos and love your drumming.
Yeah I will do no reason soon too. Thanks for watching!
THANK YOU, STEVO!!! FOR YOUR VIDEOS
For me, as fan of Sum 41 for 23 years ( and You, as one of my favorite drummers and heavy metal singers ) it's a pleasure to see and hear stories, that have never been told:) thanks for digging up rarities of Sum 41 catalogue. If you will ever read this - please, do a video about song Reign in Pain and WWVII, not just playing and singing this songs, but tell us a story about them
Thanks man! I will do the P4P stuff soon!
Thanks for watching! Yeah - the no reason connection is there for sure.. I will talk about that when I do the No Reason video. Thanks!
I always loved this song because No Reason was already one of my favorites
I will do No Reason soon too 🤘
Thank you for getting into rare gems 🙏speaking of Chuck's playlist, I beg you to make a video on 'Open Your Eyes'. Very underrated song, but has a KILLER drum work on it. I'd just like to enjoy the playthrough real bad!
I will do that one for sure! It's on the list!
Thank you Stevo, for bringing new life into some of my lessor known favorite songs. Your drumming inspired and taught me to play drums in my adolescent years. I would play Angels with Dirty Faces on repeat until I could play it perfectly.
That makes me happy to hear! I will check out Angels ... a few people have mentioned it. Thanks for watching!
The fact that you read the comments just make you my favorite channel right now.
Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱 (still waiting for Sum 41 to come or at least you)
Thanks for watching! I'd love to go to Chile one day.. If it happens.. Drinks on me! 🤘
Que bacan , saludos desde Ecuador, guayaquil 🇪🇨
Thanks for watching!
another phenomenal video! I'm actually taking inspiration from your drum set up for mine and re arranging them
Liked and subscribed after reading Deryck's book. Hey Steveo!
Stevo now its time for “Always” 🔥🔥🔥 Very underrated track!
I will do that one soon! I can talk about the best of album too
I am glad someone from the band finally acknowledged it: Subject to Change > Underclass Hero. LOL.
IMHO this one would work great live since people already know the chorus.
But… we still haven’t gotten the Congo story by now! Should be next video!
PS: Can you also confirm that Noots and Subject to Change are “working titles” that don’t mean anything?
I hope you will be right and Sum 41 will play this masterpiece next Tuesday in Hungary. I remember the first time I saw you live in Budapest. It was one of the best days of my life. Sad to see this era come to an end. I will really miss Sum 41.🤘
You'll have to let me know ... have fun!
I promise I will! Thanks mate!
