Travis' ability to constantly create hooks within songs is pure talent in music, but him removing any and all ego for the sake of the song when creating a simple, yet pitch perfect drum loop for their most influential piece of art, I Miss You, is pure love in music ❤
Man I just wanna tell you your music and drumming inspires me daily brother. I’m 29 and have been listening to you guys since I was 6 and now my 5 year old son loves you. I’m trying to teach him paradiddles and I’ve been playing about 20 years now myself but just thank you for everything you’ve done for my mental health I genuinely can’t thank you enough for being part of my family’s life. Long live punk rock 🤘🏻
Dude you just blew my mind! My favourite drummer talking, acknowledging, and play my other favourite drummers song! Such a shame blink and sum didn’t do a pop disaster tour of their own!!!
My favorite part about Travis' drumming is how subtle he is at creating little details within his drum parts, that by repeating them every time the section shows up simply become an unmistakable part of the riff itself. The two crashes in the intro on the and-of-1 and the 3 of the 3rd bar is a perfect example of this. I cannot imagine this song's groove without those. Absolutely genius! Great cover, Steve!
TOYPAJ was one of my earliest album purchases as a 12yo with pocket money to burn and all killer no filler not long after. To have you, the former drummer of Sum 41 and current drummer in your basement play songs from such seminal works of yours and other bands of the time is so amazing and I’m grateful for it. All the trivia and memories is just a blast to watch, thank you for sharing ❤🥁
Travis is the GOAT! When you listen to him on the drums it is an amazing feeling. Someone doing what they were born to do. Great cover and some cool stories from back in the day. Glad to hear Travis supported you and is a great bloke.
One of my favorite drummer covering another favorite drummer of mine?! That's awesome! Thanks Stevo, you rock and you've put a big smile on my face for the rest of the day!
I love that despite playing blink, you can still hear your influence on the song. You just have a distinct style in my opinion… and it’s fuckin awesome! 🙌🏼
Steveo you’re an absolute beast behind the drums 🥁 I saw you in Australia for the “Does this look infected” tour with NFG at Festival hall in 2003. The extra bit you guys played in “No Brains” gave me goosebumps (sounds lame I know) but it was fucking sic! You and Travis were huge inspirations behind MY drumming and now my sons picking up the sticks 🥁
Stevo, just wanted to say thanks again for all the awesome insight into your career and my favorite era of punk rock! Keep the stories and uploads coming!
Cool to see other drums play the main fill. I always reach high tom with my right hand. At least thats what my drum teacher taught me many many years ago! Lots of blink 182 and sum41 my teacher showed me as he knew i loved the music!
Stevo! Just wanna say it’s awesome to see you kicking around and playing drums still. I grew up listening to Sum 41 and even though we’re all old as shit now, there’s something very satisfying about being able to hear you tell those stories and watching you play drums. It’s good to see you’re still out there and doing well. Take care.
This made my day. I used to love finding out about these friendship connections among my favorite punk bands. Travis seems like a really down to Earth kind of guy. You're both really talented.
This is awesome! Travis was the reason I started playing drums and Stevo, dude you’re the reason I stuck with them. Your combination of technicality and groove just made drumming look like so much fun. Thanks for being such an awesome influence and for putting together this great tribute to Travis! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
No way!! That’s an awesome nugget of info. I’ve never heard your first endorsement story until now. AND you’re playing a Blink song?! Someone pinch me!! 💁🏼♀️🤏🏻

Great video!! Would love to hear more about your family and life post Sum 41. Walking away from being a professional drummer to living the family life is a big step and would love to hear the story behind it! Keep the videos coming, huge fan dude! 🤘
Love this!!! Being someone who was just about to leave everything and go on tour in my early 20s only to find out i was becoming a new father and chose to stay and raise my daughter, I've always liked to hear folks on the other side of that story who had the life and gave it up for family. Good on you sir, appreciate it and look forward to the video!!
@@stevo32drums I remember reading a while back that DTLI had to be re-recorded. I do love the way it sounds, but I’ve been wondering since how different it could have sounded. Is there any chance you have any of the original recordings ? That could make a really cool video!
I remember jamming endlessly on my drums to blink sum41 and especially The Used back in the early 2000s as those early albums really leveled up what you could do with pop punk drums. All the displaced beats, halftime stuff, high hat work. It changed song writing for me 🖤
Awesome Video SteveO! I love the first Date cover, nailed it. It was interesting to hear your take on the 2 bands. I always thought blink never really wanted to join forces as they saw you all as competitors. I always loved both bands but felt Sum put a little more into their music. Has Deryck said anything about you joining them in Toronto?😊❤
Brother, I’ve been on a journey tonight… I was down a rabbit hole of prime Sum41 and early 2000’s punk/pop-punk/alternative shit. It made me remember one of the greatest behind the scenes tour life type videos of all time, that was the sum41 campus invasion tour, or more accurately the “sum farty one anus invasion tour” thank you for the fuckin face melting chest crushing beats, and the bulk of the hilarious shenanigans you got into on that tour and for filming it hahaha. I’m glad I found your channel here now, I’ve been a fan for easily the last 20 years, and I’m glad to see we both made it out of the 2000’s alive hahaha

I remember a friend worked at OCDP back in the early 2000's and my drummer friend and I would go visit the shop in Santa Ana. Even if the shop was small it was cool to see all the rad drums.
@steveo32drums you sir are just so good at what you do. Still waiting (no pun intended) wait for Angels With Dirty Faces. Also for a Chuck video. Keep up the great work and thanks for posting these videos.

Are you planning on playing with Sum 41 again (yes I know they disbanded) or are you potentially going to talk about your departure from Sum 41? Can't wait for more videos!

Travis grassroots in jazz must have given him some diverse knowledge. He is versatile and the way explore different genre is always intriguing. The drumming is always great, Stevo. I have been going to The Glass House since 2014, and it is one of my favorite venues. Pomona has an awesome music scene.
I wish I saw you play live. Your a equally great drummer. Travis I saw last year on their tour and how he plays while blindfolded and suspended in the air on his drum stage I'll never know, it's crazy.
