You should do a video on Case Keenum. He's had a crazy career spending 6 years at Houston (4 playing, RS, medical RS), becoming the all time NCAA passing leader, to being undrafted in the NFL, to leading the Vikings in the playoffs one year, to being a long lived top NFL backup QB now. All that and he is only about 6' and 205.
As a young guy, Jarvis jones was the first play to really make me a big uga fan besides Knowshon Moreno. Had no idea he was coaching with the bulldawgs, that's awesome to see. Great video!

@Neogamerfort oh ok no knock against you everybody had to start somewhere but that’s why because he was getting isiah Simmons hype around that draft time
As a steeler fan I loved his speed. I have never seen someone attack the edge as fast as him, but that was his only speed...Draw plays, screens, and just by simply stepping up in the pocket was his kryptonite. Wish we could have kept him as a backup.
He did make it he just didn't have a long career it was because of injuries plus he was in the wrong position he really should have been a line backer he didn't weigh enough to be out there against those NFL linemen.
He was diagnosed with spinal stenosis he had to learn to tackle mostly by grabbing. Hard to play in the NFL worrying which hit will leave you paralyzed for life. Which is why he left USC they wouldn’t clear him to play.
@@lordvenkman884 this is a bit of a stretch about the speed and fastest you’ve seen attack the edge...he ran a 4.92 at his pro day....athletically he was underwhelming to say the least
If Jarvis Jones could've beaten out Nick Perry, Chris Galippo, Everson Griffin, Luther Brown, and Devon Kennard, USC would never asked him to retire because of neck injury (ie released him from scholarship). USC thought he was a disappointment and that injury derailed him. He was tentative and BTW, no one thought he was better than Javedeon Clowney. NO ONE. Jarvis still did played better in Georgia than at USC. The funny part about in 2013 NFL draft, some teams thought his Georgia teammate Alec Ogletree is a better LB prospect than Jarvis.
that game vs dallas in 2016 was what pretty much ended his nfl career, he was solely responsible for zeke getting that game winning TD which led to him getting benched, before that happened i still had faith that he would break out but after costing them that game i lost all faith in him.
Before anybody hates as a former borderline "next level" player got cut after a year on a CFL practice squad this guy is pretty on point. A 4.9 is not a true indicator of speed jones definitely played fast however his speed was that of an average edge in the NFL which is why he didnt have the production he had at Georgia. This guy did a good job explaining jarvis' career
2012 SEC Championship was one of the best no doubt. I wouldn’t say it ended off a tipped ball. While he did slip on the turff, and Bama had two guys playing that flat route and wouldn’t of made the tackle anyway.
I watched every game he played in highschool for two years straight the guy was inside linebacker and a true Head Hunter I just didn't see him being a defensive end pass rusher they should have kept him as a line backer he would have been more effective.
He really could not of been more productive than at defensive end, he was in every single play nearly and caused havok at DE. He played linebacker some as well. Once in NFL he played LB but was not very productive.
As far as his development with the Steelers, Jones did nothing on the practice field or in the film room his rookie year to show the coaches or his teammates that he was ready to step up and earn some playing time, cuz they were actually hoping that he would be a quick study and get onto the field his rookie year in some of their packages. Being a close friend of one of the Steelers' defensive assistant coaches, he told me that basically while Jarvis was a good "team" guy, he had his positions "given" to him in HS and college due to his ability and high motor, and as noted in your vid, while he was a superb HS & college athlete, by NFL LB standards, he was "average," though what crippled him at the NFL level is that his technique was piss poor, he had one move, which was shoulder down, straight off the edge, and when the guy blocking you is bigger, faster & stronger than you and takes your one move away from you, and he happens to be the Steelers' back-up OT in weekday practices, well, that didn't bode well for either the Steelers' coaches' and Players' confidence in Jarvis or Jarvis's confidence in himself It's nothing against Jarvis as he came to Play, he left it on the field, and he gave ya everything that he had, unlike many. He just maxed out in college, as many do. The NFL is a whole nother level, and if you can't take your game up AT LEAST one level, you ain't gonna be there long. Jarvis didn't have another level🤷🏻♂️ That being said, my Bud said that he's a Class act and he'd want him to coach his son. At the end of the day, that beats the shit out of havin great technique🤙 Continued Success🍻 RP
Often, the College Football Player 'Superstars' are too beat up and injured when they finally get to the NFL. They left their best performances in College and have short, disappointing NFL Careers. Brian Bosworth in the late 1980's was a perfect example of this - he was a 'Stud' at Oklahoma, but was damaged goods when he was drafted by the SEAHAWKS.
Moral of the story, NFL is a short physically violent and mentally exhausting career (the avg. length is 2-3 years depending on the position). Anyone who makes it to the league needs to take great care of his financial compensation (not wasting money on bullshit jewelries etc.), and develop diligent professional habits for the long life after NFL.
In the NFL, you just can't be a pure edge rusher, you also have to understand coverage schemes, which exotic 3-4 schemes likes the Steelers require of their OLBs. Jarvis never quite picked this up. The Steelers defense is a complex scheme and is traditionally difficult for young guys to pick up. Look how long it took Bud Dupree to finally produce. James Harrison himself was cut several times by the Steelers, before finally catching on. Jarvis may have been better in a different less complex scheme than the Steelers. *Diehard Steelers fan here btw*
