See that's what I've noticed about Detroit offense too. There's a good half dozen guys on that team that can catch the ball one way or another, maybe more, that you'd say "Yeah I would trust them to go thirty yards down" and be reasonably sure they'd take it. St. Brown is like two of them put together.
@jamesbailey4304 i still remember that play with gibbs last year where jamo ran down the field faster than gibbs to lay a block that secured a td. I love watching this team
Been a Lions fan since the early 70s as a kid. I love so many of the great Lions, but St. Brown is now my all-time favorite Lion. He is so dangerous on the field, but what I love most is his relentless drive to be great and a complete willingness to sacrifice his body for the team. He has the biggest heart I've ever seen. It's like putting the heart of Rudy in a world-class athlete. No moment is too big for him. He is so dependable and clutch. He absolutely works his ass off in every physical and mental aspect of the game. He is an inspiration for the team. His high intelligence and natural comfort in front of the camera, and you have a great spokesman for the team and the city. Much love and respect for #14!
He's unselfish. The man is clearly WR1 but he lead blocks on running plays and takes equal pride in that. That resonates with Detroit sports fans. It's the city of the Grind Line and the Bad Boy Pistons. If you're a dirty work man and that helps your team to greatness, you're going to become a beloved figure in Detroit sports lore. Also side note: EQ deserves a portion of the credit because you can just tell that they have been pushing each other their whole lives.

Amon-Ra St. Brown can recite every WR picked before him years later?! Wow. Smart and strong and fast. The thinking man's WR and it shows on the field. We watch videos where the "IQ" (of the level of play) is featured, and the routes he sees and then takes are routinely tactically amazing. But you have to have a body to go with that mind and he obviously has that. He plays as if he is a coiled spring, Barry Sander's cuts, spins, explosive speed while his strength breaks tackles along with ankles. He is just fun to watch. I hope he stays healthy and plays for many years to come.
Amon Ra St Brown has brought heart, grit, passion, determination and joy to the Detroit Lions 🦁. Fans love to watch him play and players love to play with him 🎉.
This man is a huuuge part of the culture shift in that organization. The perfect player for a coach like DC. As a lifelong lions fan I am just so grateful for what these men have done for our Lions and for the city of Detroit. One Pride!! lets GOOOO Lions !!
Speed isn't the only requirement for a receiver. Amon-ra runs routes with precision and creates a gap between himself and the defender on a regular basis. Hits the seams perfectly. Last but not least he blocks.
I've been a Lions fan my entire life, I'm 50 years old. They are so much fun to watch. What a turn around! I also like how St Brown is half German. I was stationed in Germany for 5 years in the 90s. I had the time of my life. Best job I ever had.
In 2023, I had a business trip to Germany. I got off the plane in Frankfort. Going thru Customs, the agents were young men in their late 20's early 30's. They asked me the standard questions, then looking at my shirt, made a comment about the Detroit Lions. They specifically called out Aman-Ra's name, and took the time to explain to me that he his German! The German citizens follow him.
I'm happy for you as a Cowboys fan. We have been suffering for the last two decades and our good ol' Jerry will never turn this franchise around. I envy your franchise but you definitely deserve it especially after all those decades of being a "joke" team. I watch more Lions highlights than Cowboys now. 😂
Amon-Ra St Brown’s performance and execution may be the best. I rarely see any of the top receivers diving to catch a ball unless it’s maybe for a touchdown or a much needed first down. Amon-Ra tries to catch everything near him at all times. Others may be considered more talented but they are definitely not out-hustling him.
I think this undersells the biggest thing about Sun God this season - He is contributing to every successful play whether he touches the ball or not. From his unbelievable downfield blocking that you don't normally see from a wideout to the attention he typically takes from db1 and db2 opening up opportunities for the other receivers, his stats are through the roof. They just happen to be showing up on teammates sheets. Might be a little early yet, but his name *will* be said in the same breath with Simms, Sanders, Moore and Johnson.
