Oh my gosh, Brian!! I so needed this video. I have intentionally stayed away from Four Roses as I kept thinking that I’d need to try to get all of the recipes. And that seemed awful daunting. Your thought process is really to be patient and try to be as creative as possible to taste the variations as they come. Again, your perspective is refreshing and so insightful. Thanks, Brother!!
I love your channel because it is so informative. I'm going over to the 7th tier to sub now. We don't get many four roses single recipe picks here in TX. I wish their distribution and availability were better. Looking forward to learning more!
Fantastic video. There is a clear secondary price dispersion between high rye / low rye and tier 6 vs 1. Seems like OBSO Tiers 5 and 6 consistently go for the highest secondary price. I think they are ALL great 😎.
I’m really green honestly. I’ve tried this and that. Four Roses is my next bottle to try. Not sure which “level” I’ll try whether it’s the 80 proof or something stronger. I do like sweeter stuff. But I always wondered what the written info was on the bottles. Thank you for explaining it to me. It will definitely help in my search. I think I will try a level 1 vs a level 6 just to see if I can at least tell the difference. I probably won’t be able to…. But I’m HOPING I can tell a difference.
Thanks for this video. We def need for FR content. Question: I have 2 FR SiB. Neither has a recipe sticker on it, nor a necklace card. How can I tell which recipe it is?
What is the deal with single barrel with no side label or O_ S_ info. Had a bottle given to me as a gift. Only info is on bottom front. 100 proof Warehouse No. KE Barrel No. 19-4 H
Have you had any from the JE-32 obsf run? It’s been my personal absolute favorite - I’ve been going after roses picks for years, and unfortunately, they’re not that easy to get anymore.
Definitely appreciate the explanation & diagram. This is a long shot, but do you know or have you heard anything about this 10yr. 8mo. OESV - 62.2% PN 8-5G?
Not that specific one but I know that run came out right after the PS-58 run. I have the Tier 6 PN-8 picked by Lincoln Road but haven’t opened it yet - maybe my next single barrel to open for the channel? On whole, I’ve not heard the same praise for the run like there was for PS-58, but this comes from no hands on experience of any barrels.
@@abandonbourbon PN8 has been known for being a little “hot” as in the ethanol coming through a little stronger that normal. It’s very good but has gotten a little bit of a bad rep for being hot.
Is there a database or way to figure out the mash bill or age of a bottle of single barrel Four Roses if I only have the front label detail you just reviewed? I.e., I have warehouse and side of building, rick, tier and and position, but there was no other sticker or neck tag to tell me what recipe or age this single bottle represents. I sent a note to the distiller, but any way to get the other half of the ID process for this bottle?
We need more Four Roses content! You're just the man for the task.
Thanks so much Ben!
I NEED more Four Roses content!!! Thanks!
I keep coming back to this video everytime I buy a new FR single barrel
Phenomenal video Brian! All of the graphic overlay was top-notch

Thankful it was helpful Fred!
If you’ve never had 4 roses, pick up a single barrel off the shelf for about $45. It’s so good.
Thanks for the video! Still being appreciated on TH-cam!

Thanks Tom, greatly appreciate you tuning in.
This was very helpful. Thank you so much
Thanks Brian! Great info!
I have a couple bottles of FR and now I'm interested in checking out the label to see where they came from in the warehouse.

Really helpful! I have a regular single barrel warehouse E south 4th tier H space! Nice to know!

100 proof
Warehouse No. KE
Barrel No. 19-4 H
As of right now the standard single barrel 100 proof is all OBSV
Very informative Brian, thanks
Cheers Caleb!
This was great! Thanks so much! Keep em coming. Cheers!!
Cheers Tim thanks for tuning in.
You da man!!!!!! Great informative video!
Thanks so much for tuning in!
My buddy picked one of these up, and he doesn't have a label on the side. Is that supposed to happen?

Yes! Great run. I know there’s another new OBSF run in the pick process now, hoping for good things.

@@colehanna8801 Cheers Cole, thanks so much for that insight!
Thanks Professor for helping to drive up the prices of certain bottles of bourbon whiskeys, so that us poor folk can never afford them 🤨

There isn’t anything public for that. What’s the front read?
The front is “Warehouse VW” and then “48-3 V”
@@Gripdog what’s the proof?
@@abandonbourbon 100 proof
@@Gripdog ah that explains it. All 100 proofs should be OBSV recipe. Age is likely around 7.
Howdy!
Hooked on phonics for Whiskey!!!!
💅🏼
I can appreciate that you're try to educate fellow bourbon consumers, but at the same time you're giving stores a greenlight to price gouging "/
Hooked on phonics worked for me!
Oh they have that for bourbon now?
