Fantastic bourbon. They’re easily my favorite attainable bourbon. Collected all 10 with a couple back ups. The distillery releases the Master Distiller Select of each recipe. You can only buy 2 tho. Sooooo good. Great video
That is cool! I think thiis something they should package and sell! Why are they so afraid to sell bottles smaller than 750 ml? Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
Just found out the owner of my local store did a pick a few years ago and kept a case and said he would sell me a bottle! 9 years 9 months OBSK, forgot the proof. I am considering it but not sure!
You should get it if it is at or around $100. You won't be disappointed. It is a great special occasion pour for sure. They are special. Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
I always prefer fruity over floral. But both is kind of nice too. I find the subtle floral flavor on all of these it is just slightly more dialed up on the floral yeast strain bottles OBSQ/OESQ. Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
Awesome video! Maybe you could have explained the tier level. I believe certain recipes are stored on different Rick House levels and this results is different proofs.
Dude good call! 🤦I should have totally talked about that. Thanks again for letting me borrow the Sam's pick! It really was fantastic, just feel I liked the other 3 more. That high rye from union is SOLID. Remind me to get you a sample of that. Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
After I had your OESO I HAD to find me one of those, it’s amazing to me the majority of the yearly limited releases do not have OESO recipe. Maybe at higher ages the OESO doesn’t age as well as other recipes
I noticed you mentioned floral and the nose and palate of most. This floral note is what keeps me from really enjoying Four Roses. I like, don’t love. Thanks for the review
I completely understand that. Very similar to me and thar dickel mineral thing. Don't hate it, but it isn't my jam. But when you blend dickel with other things (Barrell) it usually ends up being fine. Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
Thanks for breaking down what all the letters mean, I've only ever had the 'normal' SB and looking forward to trying the TW store pick I grabbed a few weeks back.
@DSWEET810VIDEOS I did some research and YES they do appear to always be OBSV. The info on the bottle tells you where the bottle came in the rickhouse, how long it was aged, etc.
@@yourdrinkingbuddyif there all OBSV why does it say QE 11-3v on the front.. no age statement on it.. gives you a sentence or two of flavor notes on the back.. you no?
I only have 1 of these, I’m not even sure which one 🤔. But this seems like fun, imagine doing all 8 in double blind, head to head. Fun video, cheers DB
I think you could do it but only if you did like less than a half ounce pour on each. It would just be too much if you did more than that. Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
10!? Holy cow I didn't know they had that many...that is nuts. I purchased a single barrel about 1-1/2 years ago and thought they only had one mash bill. Now I have no idea what I drank (don't even have the bottle anymore). I'm thinking it was the higher rye, because I remember it being quite spicy. I need to try a bottle of the lower mash bill (especially the fruity version assuming I can find it).
I have been searching for these a s have had no luck. What is the process? I want the OESO! I prefer the low eye!! With the fruity mash bill yeast strain
They can be hard to come by. The easiest way seems to be going to the distillery or buying one online (this one will jump the price up to $180+). If neither of these work for you, ask a few larger liquor stores in your area, and see if anyone has them coming anytime soon. Total Wine is your best bet if you have one near you. Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃 and I hope that helped.
@@yourdrinkingbuddy Cheers to you for a great channel and by the way I love the fact that there are so many bourbons with so many amazing tastes.. Even when we can't find the one we're hunting for there are so many great options out there! I can walk into any liquor store in Pittsburgh and spend 30 to $40 and find a lot of great bourbons
I started off so fine and confident and was totally confused by the end lol. It would be a lot easier if they dropped the USELESS first and third letter. OESO should just be OE. OESK should just be EK. Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
@@yourdrinkingbuddy The mash bill with the K in it, my bad can't remember the other letters. OESK maybe, just wanted to know your thoughts on this. Cheers...

Great episode. I used to drink 4 Roses years ago without knowing the codes. I think I would prefer the fruity over floral. 🥃

I got an oesk picked by Brent Elliot at the distillery two weeks ago and it is unbelievably good. I have seven recipes so far!
That is awesome! It is my next goal to have all 10. It will take some time!

It is interesting. I wonder if maybe they produced more of the high rye mashbill 9-12 years ago?

What were the ages of these? What were the prices? I got a 10 year OESK store pick for $120. Thanks for explaining the lettering.
You know, I dont have the box anymore... and I am not sure it is on there!

Nice! I seriously love them.

Today I saw a normal 4 roses single barrel not a store pick it said QE.. so that would be mashbill E and floral essence?!
I could be wrong, but I believe the standard single barrel is always OBSV.
