  • EASY Fix Follow my Step by Step. I need to FIX it ASAP as these parts are "No Longer Available" new so I have to restore it. I'll show you the procedures and tools I use to remove the rust, prepare it for paint and paint it. I also restore the plastic Honda Battery Cover Assembly and install the Battery Maintainer harness so it is completely hidden. This is a very important detail on the OEM Integra DC2 Type R restoration as I don't want aftermarket parts visible in my engine bay.
    I used wire wheels, sand blaster and sandpaper in the paint prep stage but there's more than one way to do this job so you might already have enough equipment to get it done and protected from future rust.

    I know sometimes my videos are very basic but hopefully they will help some people. I also like to document what I do to the car with video while trying to be creative. Most of the time I do everything here myself which is a big job and its hard to remember everything, I shoot most of this stuff with my old iPhone and sometimes my old GoPro. The "Pieces to Camera" I film with a Canon 5D, I don't have a real video camera at all. I would love to get a SONY FX3 some day to go on the gimbal I recently bought for moving shots in future videos.
    Take a look at my Instagram Account @uzumaki.garage which is mostly photos of my own cars
    Uzumaki Garage is in Australia. We love many things about Japan and can't wait to return. But until then we enjoy Japanese food, music, whisky, tattoos and the modern classic JDM cars. I also can't wait to return to crazy Los Angeles California USA and go to some car meets, its been too long.

      Thanks mate. My subscribers continue to grow here but it’s slow and difficult on TH-cam. My recent short video on Instagram has had over 1.1 Million views. I’ll keep at it tho

    I added the positive of the trickle charger on the fuse box input side. That way the battery terminal is cleaner and it is much easier to hide the cable at the fuse box

    Nice job. I've seen these rust away to bits, starting where the bolts attach. I"ve had battery trays rust through on previous cars so when I got my R, I doused it in anti rust wax. So thickly it could be purple paint under there for all I know. 😃I have the OEM battery cover too, but could never get it to fit properly. I think because the locally sourced ones are just a little too big. Sadly they're the only ones I can find with the correct polarity position.

      Purple paint lol. I haven't even started with cavity wax on this car, too many cars too many jobs, but I'm always making progress. The battery cover is a nice finishing touch that my yellow Integra doesn't have, so I'll keep looking for parts now that I realise its missing. I wonder if the battery cover was originally on the regular DC2 or DC4 too. These cars are so rare in my city now.

    do you know how to repair the positive battery terminal boot? mine is ripped like yours.

    • @UzumakiGarage
      @UzumakiGarage  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No I haven't investigated how to repair it yet. I tried to buy a new one but they're NLA. I've got a few spares for my Evo but they're a different shape.. Maybe we can find a decent second hand cover from a wrecker/dismantler but from memory I think he regular Integra battery terminal cover is different too. Let me know if you find a solution :)
