      If you'd get off the junk, like fluoride and other toxic chemicals traditional dentists decide to use, research about more natural, alternative methods and begin using those methods, then you won't need a dental hygienist, period.

    Thank you thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU so much for this video!!!!!!!!!! I've only recently gotten done with some extreme orthodontic work (braces and headgear since the end of first grade as well as a few surgeries for my jaw--got cleared FINALLY at 19 and am currently 21). All of the work left me with a LOT of gum issues that I still struggle with pain-wise. I have had the hardest time with mouthwashes and kept switching between different ones because if I used mouthwash A my gums would get really sore but if I used mouthwash B I would notice more occasional zingy pains in my teeth. This video was soooooooo helpful! I never thought you could use mouthwash in the morning because I thought you had to wait half an hour for all of them. You explained what the ingredients and whatnot mean really well! Thank you so much! I can't thank you enough!:D

    Hi Whitney ! You won't believe how helpfull was this video for me ! I always ask my dentist witcth mouthwash I shall use and she always tell me it dosen't matter just pick whatever you want and things like that and also while I'm trying to choose one toothbrush soft or hard .. I feel so much better by listening to your advices ! It makes me sad that the level of professionalism is so diferent between our countriea :(.
    I'm not trying to put my dentist in a bad position or anything like that, in fact I trully love her because she does her job so perfectly. But when it comes to small details like morning/night routine it seems like he dosen't care so much after all.. Anyway now I'm speaking too much again #_#
    Love you girl

    I only use act flouride now, it's great since I only need to use it once a day usually before sleep. I used listerine before but I don't really need it, plus it's costly since I have to use it twice a day at 20 ml per rinse.

    Listerine has its place, it is an excellent antiseptic, but these days there are mouthwashes that not only kill germs, but also chemically neutralize volatile sulphur compounds with sodium chlorite (which turns to chlorine dioxide gas in your mouth), there is a substantial difference. Listerine does not neutralize VSCs, so it can create that minty bad breath. My suggestion is use Closys or regular Therabreath in the morning and Listerine at night, at least this way you neutralize all the VSCs once a day and still benefit from Listerines excellent antiseptic qualities.

  • @MomoMochi

    I know this sounds like a dumb question, but I use the whitening anticavity/flouride listerine and it's super foamy. Am I supposed to rinse out the foam after spitting or leave the foam there? It's like a lot of foam so that's why I ask. Thanks!

    • @TeethTalk

  • @willperez4361

    Basically most over counter mouth rinses are terrible for your enamel and erode it away. Mouth rinses is a good part to your hygiene but u have to get the correct ones. To my knowledge I only know two over the counter mouth rinses that r good. Why all the other ones erode enamel is because they are acidic and contain acidic ingredients such as citric acid which wrecks your calcium which is essential to healthy enamel and teeth. Basically most of the popular mouth rinses have a ph scale of 3 to 4 which is terrible for your enamel and slowly eroding it after lots of use. Therabreath is a non acidic mouth rinse that has a ph around 8 which is unbelievable and is great for a healthy mouth since it's non acidic. Make sure u look at the ingredients and make sure it doesn't contain citric acid and make sure u get the one with xylitol which is a sweetener that increases saliva and make plaque not stack. I am not a dentist or have any dental status but I have done research upon research to know what is the best

    Wait but do the purples make your mouth smell good

    • @TeethTalk
      @TeethTalk  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They can but often times the purple listerines are more known for preventing cavities. They do have purple options that have both "good breath" AND "cavity prevention" properties, though!

    I would like to ask that Is it safe to use mouthwash daily ?will it result to fluorosis?

    • @TeethTalk

      Hi! Thank you so much! Using mouthwash daily is safe and should not cause fluorosis. Talk to your individual dental provider if you have concerns. I hope this helps!!! :)

    Is it best to use mouth wash mid day since I’m brushing in the morning and at night. It would seem like a waste of money since my teeth would be clean after just brushing them

      candacemail1 That makes me happy! Thank YOU! By the way, I just researched a bit about therabreath and it seems like a great product! Although the mouthwash does not contain fluoride, I found that they offer toothpastes that contains fluoride! If you are liking their products, I would try their fluoride toothpaste to help prevent cavities. Floss on ;)

    Ok this is five years late but pls my hygienist told me that alcohol rinses can cause cavities because they dry out the mouth and we need a wet mouth to fight cavities or something. Is this true??

    • @TeethTalk
      @TeethTalk  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      technically that can happen indirectly because - alcohol in mouthwash CAN give you dry mouth (I always recommend alcohol-free) - and dry mouth CAN lead to cavities. hope this helps!

      Teeth Talk Girl There is a debate between dentists. It is said using mouthwash after brushing washes the fluoride away.My dentist told me to use mouthwash after in the morning, and before brushing at night. So I get the best if both ways :-)

    • @TeethTalk
      @TeethTalk  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, it depends on which type. You asked what I do - I use a fluoride mouthwash, so I use it after brushing because it's fluoride. If you're using an antiseptic, you're welcome to use it before. Always listen to your personal dentist, as I stated at the beginning of the video - dentistry is based off of the individual. Everyone's teeth are different, therefore, everyone is recommended to follow their own at-home treatment plan. Hope this helps :)

  • @TeenMoney2008

    So you can use the green one in the morning and the purple one at night ?.if I use the purple one at night everyday isn't that bad for your teeth due to the floride

    • @juliewitt7496
      @juliewitt7496 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No such thing as a "safe" amount of fluoride. Fluoride disrupts the workings of the thyroid gland and, in some cases, gives you an autoimmune disease. Studies have shown it causes a host of illnesses.
