Somehow I played this game, Through till the fight with Rufus. So (90%) without realizing he could counter. As soon as I figured that out the game went from unbelievably tough, to fair and fun as hell.
@@wiliamkasper4844 that and plus Dodge counter made the game feel so much fresh unique and fun in the gameplay mechanics. Exactly the same reason why I love Sekiro, any game that pushes you to be more engaged in combat instead of having to pause and then continue is a 10 out of 10 for me.
The funny contrast is how the cutscenes convey Sephiroth is EXTREMELY holding back and just toying with the gang. While the gameplay is more Sephiroth getting played and his ass beat like he's some low level mob with too much health.
I mean, for about half of the fight he was just standing there doing nothing except getting hit, while slowly attacking and casting funny magic. So he is kinda holding back.
This fight was a bit more heart wrenching for me. 3 second left before the meteor hit, both aerith and Barrett were down and cloud had 1 hp left with no heal potions. I almost had a damn heart attack. And thankfully I beat the fight because I wasn’t going through sit through this shit again 😅

Is there a way to make the game not slow down when choosing skills so we can have a real time battle? I'm thinking of buying but this slow time turns me off.
It's up to you actually. The game allows you to enter the tactical /command mode that slows down the battle so you can chose the ability you want to use. But you can also use shortcuts (like i do), that instantly casts the ability, without using the slow mode. And make you enjoy every fight in this game ! :)
This is a lot more Smokin' Sexy Style than my Hard Mode run where I killed Sephiroth in his last phase by running away like a little girl until Bahamut did the last bit of work for me.

Why does Cloud even bother trying to fight Sephiroth when I can clearly see he ain't even trying at all and literally can delete the whole universe? Cloud can’t 1v1 Sephiroth at this point in time. He doesn’t stand a chance. In canon writing Sephiroth is the strongest being in the ff7 universe. It is until later in the story that Cloud and only cloud can take base Sephiroth 1v1. Safer Sephiroth is a whole different beast. Cloud is like hocrux of Sephiroth. As long as cloud is alive, Sephiroth will always be part of him and will never cease to exist.
Cloud can keep defeating Sephiroth but Sephiroths conscious will always remain in the lifestream in Clouds memories. That’s where one of Sephiroths iconic comes from, Cloud: “stay where you belong in my memories”, Sephiroth: “I will never be a memory”.
Nah some rag doll physics show up in some bosses. When you fight Reno, Weiss and other certain bosses you can throw them around by playing a more aggressive playing style. You aren’t going to rag doll a machine boss(which appear in this game frequently)Sephiroths weakness is focused thrust and counter play style. Focused thrust interrupts Sephiroth easily because it is the iconic move that Cloud used against him when he stabbed him during the neibelheim incident back when he was 16 years old. Developers payed good attention to detail regarding the focused thrust move.
in terms of Force Feedback fluidity, Capcom's Devil May Cry 5 did it better. Basically how the Boss ragdoll physics react to melee attacks from player. In this video it looks like you're attacking a Brick. Square Enix should've hired the Combat Motion Capture from Capcom. FF7 on its own is still a good game tho, I kinda wish the combat could be immersive as in FF7 Advent Children movie
