Bruh Vergil was ‘dead’ and he didn’t know Nero was his son, either. Also, since Dante and Vergil are twins, the DNA test could also imply that Dante was his father.
Pretty sure Vergil knew who Nero was the whole time. It’s kind of hard to not know who Nero is once Nero wielded the Yamato, has white hair with demonic blood, and you’ve ripped out his arm containing his demonic essence.
I wouldnt be surprised if Nero had thought that, considering Dante didn't try and kill him even though he was clearly part demon and had gotten in his way multiple times, not to mention how he had said that Yamato needed to stay in the family, but let him keep it anyway.
@Kono-Diego Da!! It would make sense because I don't think Dante ever said much about Virgil to him other than the fact that Yamato had belonged to him.
Dante: "he's your father, I've known since we met." Trish: "I suspected that he was your dad for a long time" Nero: "WHy aM I ThE LaST tO KnOW! ! !" Vergil: "Nero is my son?" Nero: "oh shit nvm"
How in the name of badassery did vergil forget that he apparently banged some random woman 18 years ago? Did he never consider the possibility that he may have a child? Ever?
That was heart breaking and shocking. Even if we knew already Vergil is Nero's father, this is when we realize Dante doesn't really consider Nero a true dead weight. He was just trying to protect his nephew, the only family he has left. Also, when Vergil returned, Dante knew inmediately Nero would want to join the battle, and whether Nero kills Vergil or Vergil kills Nero, Dante wasn't prepared to lost another relative.
Yeah that's why I also like the fact Lady says to Nero he'd never recover from killing Vergil if he had to. Both are speaking from experience which is what I love about this game.
Oh I knew what he was doing from the start. Everything he's done in this game has been trying to keep nero from finding out the truth and take vergil down without nero ever knowing the truth. That moment was when he realised Nero wasn't going to stop and in his frustration he blurted it out, regretted it instantly and then, knowing there was no going back he told him everything.
@@weirdface1846Round one he was just having fun, like he said, he had some time to kill and I think Nero's resolve genuinely amused him. He started to suspect who Nero was and didn't want him to follow his father's path, as soon as he knew for certain they fought, that time took him a bit more seriously and I've always suspected he was testing Nero to see if he was anything like his father, when he realised he wasn't going to be like vergil he let him go. It's the kind of thing I might pull were I in a similar situation.
@@LAGUEp666 yeah in round 2, dante started to become a little agressive but still holds back. even nero thought that dante was playing around with him not actually have a real battle with him
@@weirdface1846 It wasn’t sarcasm he was essentially doing a passable impression of a wounded animal lashing out at those he cared about in lieu of protecting them. Dad has never been the most… Emotionally aware of characters he was trying to shield Nero from the truth by pissing him off in such a way as he would be focused more on the fact that Dante Was lashing out at him then the reason that he was lashing out. Focusing his anger upon himself rather than allowing him to discover the truth. I can’t say that I would behave differently in that situation but he told him the truth in the end That’s what matters
I think the best part of this is that Vergil drops the Inferiority complex for just a split second to genuinely thank Nero for helping him become whole again. Its an uncharacteristically humble and honest moment from a character that usually keeps an enormous amount of walls between himself and the rest of the world.
I guess we have his time as V, to thank for that. In the novels, he even went out of his way to save the mother of a child who was about to be harvested. If Vergil's human half was willing to humor his own humanity, I'm sure he can easily muster enough humility to thank Nero for the therapy session.
Meanwhile, in DMC 1... Trish: Crashes into Dante's shop, insults him, electrocutes him, stabs him with his own sword then throws a motorcycle at him Also Trish: I'm not your enemy.
I don't know why but when Dante' raises his voice when he tells Nero, "he's your father", just sends chills down my spine Maybe it's because were so used to Dante being the smooth talking badass that he is, at worst when he's serious his voice gets sterner and less airy so hearing him actually shout back at Nero makes you realize this isn't Dante talking to a companion. This is Dante finally letting out the bottled up baggage to his Nephew.
The pure pain, anger, frustration, and sorrow in his voice were perfect. Cause he knew he was ripping the heart out one of the two people he cared about most, metaphorically... right before he planned to do so LITERALLY to the other.
Man people were bitching about the realistic approach to the character models but Sheesh this is the best thing Capcom has done to the series. This is probably the closest we'll ever get to a live action DMC and Vergil... omg they couldn't have gotten him anymore perfect! Breath taking graphics fo sure.
@@suckerp991 I knew that the assassin's Creed movie because the channel I was watching at the time had a commercial about it lol. But I see your point.

@@baroquechevalier8516 Who could blame Lady? Even with what Arkham did, she probably remembered the good times with him before he became obsessed with power which is why it hurt her when she did kill him, even if that's what her heart wanted, part of her still probably remembered the good times.
The big difference between both fathers is that Arkham became a sadistic bastard with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Vergil, while not the best dad around, has noble qualities and good intentions, even if those methods are extreme. His experience as V managed to win over his demon side when fusing back together, so he definitely mellowed out. Hell, he even seemed nice to Nero before knowing he was his son. Like... a _genuine_ nice.
@@Karoku2100 yeah Nero and V bond from contract for the job to being good friend. He thanks him for fulfilling his last request. Even give him his book
@@blackskullknight9062 The book might have been out of respect for his defeat. He doesn't want to admit it, but that's probably Vergil's way of apologizing to Nero for the unintentional neglect. C'mon, who _else_ got to read William Blake's poems (the book Vergil owns in particular)? Certainly no one else, 'cause it seems like Nero is worthy enough to share in his old man's hobby. That's...actually kind of sweet of Vergil now that I think about it...
Well the point of the reveal is not to be some big surprise, it's meant to help develop Nero's character. So his reaction was key to making this scene work, and it works very well he spends the rest of the game angry and confused not knowing what to do until he decides to go and face Vergil, as well as calling Kyire to reassure himself of his resolve.
That's why Lady says he would never recover. Lady probably has some major PTSD from that shit. She literally shot her own father in the face. That fucked her up. And she knows the same would happen to Nero. She's telling him not to make the same mistake.
@@redflame2328 That's not really the point. The point is that killing your father, no matter who they are is s traumatic thing to go through. Especially for Nero. His entire life he didn't know who his father was and had always been alone. Now he knows. And it's the person he's been trying to get revenge on the whole time. His whole reality was flipped upside down.
I people don't understand how much being V has changed Vergil. He now embraces his human blood. He even questions why he hates his brother and his mother. Vergil is changing its just he doesn't know how to express it, it's like Dante said they have been fighting since they were kids. That's how he expresses his feelings, to challenge his son was a sense of showing pride because he see's his son as much of a challenge as his brother. Vergil is basically Buu arc Vegeta right now
@KlazeGamez have you played any Devil May Cry game before? Because it literally says in this game Dante and Vergil are twins and their mother was human lol
I see what you mean, but DMC 1 vergil reminds me more of buu arc Vegeta. This vergil right here does seem like the near end buu arc Vegeta once he's freed and watching goku fight kid buu.
Imagine that though. Being in Nero's shoes. All your life you've been picked on for not knowing your real parents, you suddenly have demonic power out of nowhere with seemingly no explanation, then all of a sudden you're told you have a family comprised of Devils. His entire reality must've been flipped right then. You can see it in his face.
The reconciliation he comes to later is also great. "I finally discovered family I never knew existed. I'm gonna do everything I can to make sure they don't kill each other."
I have a pretty good guess as to why Dante said that. He was banking on Nero to intervene, so what he was _actually_ saying fell more along the lines of, "DON'T YOU DARE GET INVOLVED IN THIS, NERO"
Everyone except me apparently, I must be the only person who was surprised when I heard this, then again I only got into the series after 5 released and played them all one after the other, but the idea of Vergil having a kid just felt weird to me in DMC4.

This is even funnier considering that the game says in a journal from an old man who met Vergil, that Dante is constantly stealing anything that isn't marked as Vergil's. So even into their adult years, Dante was STILL stealing from him. I bet you that just so that Vergil still has Beowulf in his DLC, they will explain that Dante went to fight a Beowulf demon to get the Devil Arm back and on the sole of the boot, will be Vergil's name.

It's not a secret it's a secret to nero as the audience of course we already knew now they used as story instead of leaving it dead no one said it was a secret
Nero: *Desperately trying to climb an ascending pillar while fighting demons* Dante: *Desperately climbing towards Nero with all his strength while struggling* Nero: *Feels Dante’s arm grab his leg* What Dante!? Dante: *Gasps for air desperately while throwing Nero off pillar* Nero: *Screaming* WHY! Dante: GET OUT OF MY WAY NERO
Nero: hey dad now that your back can we have a father and son moment? Vergil: not now I'm busy trying to kick your uncle ass. Nero: but dad Vergil: don't make me cut off your other arm. Nero: god i hope you lose.
I got a little emotional for Nero here, I mean we all knew he was Vergil's son but it was one hell of a shock to him, not only knowing that his father is the bad guy, but also the bad guy who ripped his arm off to get more power.. poor boy
Had Hideo Kojima written this game then Nero would be the clone of Vergil's clone "Big Vergil" who stopped the demons from returning and assumed the role of Fox Leader. Nero would of course be a child soldier masked by the VR missions obtained throgh Dante's memories.
And then Big Vergil would have hide away for years, and randomly appear out of nowhere before solid nero. Of course Big Vergil would need another replacement clone of himself, thats where Punished Dante comes in.
The church cult in DMC4 should have been worshiping Nero. But they didn't even have him on their little secret council. Shouldn't they have been brainwashing Nero for years to be on their side? Instead they treated the super-powered grandson of their literal god like an errand boy. Never made sense to me. And no one tell me the cult didn't know Nero had Sparda blood. Of course they knew. It's why they transplanted the damn arm onto him. It's not as if they were chopping off the arms of every soldier in Fortuna until they found someone who worked. Didn't try to put it on Credo, did they? Edit: NM, I'm dumb. Totally forgot there was never actually a transplant.
@@CognizantCheddar That arm was not transplanted onto Nero, he grew it when Kyrie was in danger and he needed power. That need acted as a spark to him bringing out the power in his body. Remember that speech he had when Yamato reforged and became Nero's. "From that day forth, my arm changed and a voice echoed. "Power ... give me more power" And if I become a demon, so be it. I'll endure the exile ... anything to protect her." That happened in a state where he was desperate to survive and it seemed like it was a memory, which leads me to believe that his devil trigger was ignited when Kyrie was in danger from demons.
@@largetea8475 As my edit and other reply implies, I do realize that now. I forgot a bit of the plot, obvsly. I know now there's only one moment in the game that implies anyone in the cult knew in advance about Nero's relations, a line by Sanctus near the end in which he says unsolicited "you truly are a son of Sparda." But Sanctus was corrupt from the beginning, so it does make sense to me that *he* wouldn't tell anyone about Nero -- a megalomaniacal cult leader doesn't want competition for the people's adoration.
Nero: "So Kyrie, remember that weird cult that we were a part of a couple years ago. Well it turns out that Sparda, the guy we praying to, is actually most my grandfather. "
I love how Nero is the only one NOT talking about killing Vergil. Dante finally sees his brother again after having “killed” him when he was Nelo Angelo and the first thing he did was attack Vergil on sight. Plus after seeing V merge with Urizen he HAD to have understood that Urizen had no humanity to begin with and Vergil never really did anything but split his dying self (which again, kinda Dante’s fault to begin with). Then Lady and Trish just automatically assumed Dante was in the right and Vergil the villain. At least Trish had the full story and was still completely on board with the idea of killing a guy who has spent I don’t even know how many years dying and tortured and fully regretted doing the ONLY thing he could to save his life. Literally all Vergil did in this game was split himself as a last ditch effort to save his life and end the serious ptsd he still had from Mundus (didn’t have the best outcome, but it was understandable and he regretted it afterwards), then when he came back he picked up his book, retaliated when Dante attacked first, thanked Nero and left (afterwards they fought and he ended up saving the day by sealing himself in hell). I feel really sorry for Vergil. Everyone hated him just for doing what he could to survive. Dante saw that V was literally turning to ashes and was totally fine with him dying, but when he realized he was going to turn back into Vergil it became a problem?! I guess Nero is only one that NOT an asshole this game (not counting Kyrie).
Same. Dante vs Vergil is just seen as an inevitability by the characters (and the fans) but when you stop to think about it makes no logical sense. Nero being so detached from all this previous history made him the only character to actually question all of this. Even though he kinda hates the guy for chopping his arm off he still doesn't let it blind his reasoning.
You completely got that all wrong. Of course, Dante would kill him after all those years, he was an evil slave when he got taken over by Mundus, he put Vergil out of his misery. Also, Vergil did everything to himself, he tried to take over in DMC3 so of course, Dante tried to kill him. He even tried to save him in the end but Vergil slashed his hand. Vergil was also the fool who thought he could fight Mundus. Vergil split himself into two because he wanted to get rid of his humanity and become a full demon. He didn't fully think about his humanity becoming a whole new entity. If he did then he probably thought his human half V would more than likely die since he considers humans to be weak. Vergil never thought of his human side, V would go on a journey to discover himself and then get reunited into him and teach him some level or compassion and emotion. Everything that happened to Vergil is his own doing. Don't blame Dante. Yes, Dante can be an asshole, but unlike Vergil, he is an asshole with good intentions. Everything Dante did and felt towards Vergil is understandable and justified. I do agree with you that because Nero is an outside party and grew up in a relatively"normal" life, he can see how dysfunctional the family is and how the bad blood between them is crazy. Could Dante have handled things better? Sure, but he like his brother had a fucked up growing up experience and wasn't fully raised right. You can't expect Dante to know how to handle his brother like a normal person when they were never raised in a normal environment. Vergil also didn't make things easy...being an evil cunt and all.
I mean, I guess we are ignoring the fact that Urizen *is* part of Vergil, and he's the one who's sucking and collecting all that blood for the blood fruit thing he wanted. Vergil is partly responsible for the death of thousands of thousands of people, so let's not pretend he's an angel in all of this. The deaths of all those people were consequences of actions he directly and consciously did.
@@cesar6447 Honestly, I wish that DMC 6 gives some powers so she can be slightly useful, kinda like the Genji: Dawn of the Samurai sequel did with the main character's love interest back in the PS3. Her character kinda looks cool, but her personality being non-existent is pretty boring
Man the performances of Nero and Dante are amazing. The delivery and timing and even the tone of their voices are just a 10/10, one of the best voice acting in gaming I'd say.
love how Vergil and Dantes sibling rivalry has become such a casuall thing like ''oh boy, here i go killing my brother again'' and we fans are like ''yup, just another tuesday night at the house of sparda clan'', no wonder this series is so good
2:32 to 3:18 I LOVE how real this dialogue feels! I can't get over how this is such great reference material for writing a realistic argument between two characters!
And to sort of brings sense to his idiot uncle and father, who keep dragging the world into chaos, because they can't understand the concept of brotherly love without regular fights to the death. Then again... considering they _are_ part demon, aren't those just natural demon family dynamics? Maybe that's how it is in hell? I think Nero being a little more human also makes him a little more open to the human idea of family.
@@Olivia-W it was Vergil who keep dragging world into a chaos, Dante just tired of it and think that possibly Urizen side still take over Vergil when they were merged. Funny when you think both uncle and father keep draggin world into a chaos, when in reality Dante save human world many times lol
I love how Nero is several metres away but Dante is still like: "GET OUTTA MY WAY NERO" because Uncle Dante knows this Boss Battle is gonna ruin the entire friggin area
Well in a way I see it as Dante seeing tunnel vision for Vergil. Last time they met he was evil and the time before that he erected a tower of demons for power.
I don't think she ever truly got over killing Arkham in DMC 3. That's why she said that. The pain is there still. Arkham was a psychopath who craved devil power, but he was still her father in the end.
It's funny that what Dante said represents what we all felt .. We all had the feeling when we first saw Nero in DMC4 that he was either Dante's or Vergil's son .. then we saw how the Yamato reacted and we were sure .. Vergil is his father 😁
Tbh I don't know why the game treats it like such a big reveal, literally anyone who played DMC4 should be like 99% certain. I mean it's a reveal to Nero but even when you watch the storyline recap in DMC5 it tells you that he has Sparda's blood and that Yamato resonated with him, there's no way it could be anything else. If I remember correctly in DMC4 Nero even says that he's been hearing a voice that says "I need more power", which is Vergil's line. The actual plot twist is that Urizen is Vergil and that gets revealed way sooner.
@@Fucisko exactly, I just remember way back when DMC4 came out and a bunch of my friends and myself included had said he must have been Vergils son and people where like nah you are a dumbass blah blah Because I had said it too how come the Yamato was able to resonate into Nero, it was just so obvious
Well, there was at least a decent portion of the fandom convinced that Nero was Vergil and thought it was ridiculous and OOC for Vergil to have a kid. So I guess Capcom had to spell it out for them and leave no doubt or room for theories. Plus, Nero didn't know, so this is his wake up moment as well.
God, the quality difference between DmC: Devil may Cry and this game is _insane._ Even if you've never played a single other DMC game before this, you can feel the emotion and history radiating in this scene. Compare that to DmC and its complete lack of any sort of chemistry between its characters and you just have to wonder why anyone thought it was a good idea to put the real series on hold.
DmC would've been good IF it didn't have that title (i.e. a title fans know for the wacky woohoo pizza man, weeabrother, etc.). At the same time, I can't blame fans for giving knee-jerk comparisons to the original DMC series.
It's funny that people were giving DMC4 shit because of the then new protagonist Nero, then Capcom made the DmC reboot and people realized how good DMC4 was
I think what dante really meant as a justification for Nero not to fight was "you're my Nephew" meaning "you're my family" Dante simply doesn't want to risk him dying
I wish there was some comical interaction Vergil: Nero is my son !? Dante: No shit genius! I want to know how's that happen too. Nero: I'm expecting child support money for 18 years. In addition, I think "Urizen" is a word bun for "Your Reason" as Urizen and V were part of Vergil. V is the human part while Urizen is Vergil reason to get power by embracing his demonic side.
2:40 this is a few moment where we get to heard Dante is being seriously angry And also, how the heck Vergil have a son and Dante don't even have any child? Dude really did great on his protection huh
DMC 5 special edition is not that far away now, which brought me here. And my free time made me write following- This scene always made me wonder if Nero thought Dante was his father until this moment. I mean Vergil also thought something similar in the novel. So it wouldn’t be a stretch. Which means this scene hits doubly harder. Because all this time, what Nero always wanted was family and place to belong to. Meeting Dante finally gave him some sense of that belonging. He must’ve thought after DMC4 events that Dante was his father but did not want to express it because of whatever big complicated story was there. And the Novel also says that post DMC4, Dante often checked on Nero and helped him, which must’ve looked like making up for lost time to Nero. And we know for all their sassing each other Nero respects Dante like crazy because of events of DMC4. So all this time Nero thought the legendary Demon Hunter Dante was his father who has saved the world many times, who also became his mentor. Only to realise that wasn’t case. And what burns more is that- His Father is actually Dante’s evil brother the alpha and the omega Vergil, who cut off his hand, left him to die, used him to meet his own ends as his friend(V), tried to destroy to world. Of course that hit Nero like a freight train. It’s not a trade off he wanted. Which explains why Nero just couldn’t let go of that ‘deadweight’ remark throughout. Because it was coming from Dante(even if he didn’t mean it). He just couldn’t handle hearing it from him and he worked throughout DMC5 until the final fight to prove himself to Dante. Because his opinion just matters that much. Lol that’s all. I know no one will read it but I just wanted to write it for fun. It’s good writing practise if nothing at all.
Pierre Green yes, when it come why dante and nero’s face almost identical, have white hair and wonder why yamato response to unknown protagonist if it is not because they have relation🤔

Vergil is my favourite asshole
Dante is my favourite Himbo
I might be bisexual. FUCK!
I guess we have his time as V, to thank for that. In the novels, he even went out of his way to save the mother of a child who was about to be harvested.

Maybe it's because were so used to Dante being the smooth talking badass that he is, at worst when he's serious his voice gets sterner and less airy
so hearing him actually shout back at Nero makes you realize this isn't Dante talking to a companion. This is Dante finally letting out the bottled up baggage to his Nephew.

Yeah but let's be real, Dante is still gonna be a better father figure than Vergil. Because, well, it's Vergil.
I like Lady's line about Nero killing his own father, because she knows what she's talking about.
And it's pretty apparent she couldn't get over it after all these years.

@@DreKade it was apparent after DMC4SE Vergil's story and an artbook confirming it

I love how nero's just standing there like "wtf is going on" while dante gets his ass kicked.
On the amusing side ... Sparda is Nero's Grandpa, and Kyrie might find that a bit interesting.
Dante being his Uncle is a mixed bag.
@@CognizantCheddar
That arm was not transplanted onto Nero, he grew it when Kyrie was in danger and he needed power. That need acted as a spark to him bringing out the power in his body. Remember that speech he had when Yamato reforged and became Nero's.
"From that day forth, my arm changed and a voice echoed. "Power ... give me more power" And if I become a demon, so be it. I'll endure the exile ... anything to protect her."
That happened in a state where he was desperate to survive and it seemed like it was a memory, which leads me to believe that his devil trigger was ignited when Kyrie was in danger from demons.
@@johnsmithfakename8422 you're right man, I forgot about all that. :$
Kyrie is not an asshole... kyrie is a nothing :)
God I love the scene where Dante tells Nero that Vergil was his father. The voice acting just hits you.
love how Vergil and Dantes sibling rivalry has become such a casuall thing like ''oh boy, here i go killing my brother again'' and we fans are like ''yup, just another tuesday night at the house of sparda clan'', no wonder this series is so good
3:38, that's the face that made me want to give Nero a hug. god dam the facial animations are so on point in this game.
What would this look like with 500% facial animation??
Hell, would that even work
Inb4 DP023 says "OK"
@@Shirokawa9001 oh god no
Don't give them ideas! Just don't!
Nah, crank that up to 1000%!!!
When I streamed/played this for the first time I cheered. That "He's your father" line is delivered so beautifully by Langdon
Vergil is so badass and Dan’s voice is so stylish was so hype when Vergil returned and heard his voice
Vegita: I dont care about my son.
Vergile: Hold my beer. I gotta chop some arms.
2:32 to 3:18
I LOVE how real this dialogue feels! I can't get over how this is such great reference material for writing a realistic argument between two characters!
The alpha and the omega my boy!

Everybody kept thinking Nero wanted to kill Vergil, I think he was just mad because he wanted to finally figure out his family history
"We're gonna have to redraw a few maps after this fight."
Lady: "It's true. You'd never recover from that."
Me: "And you did?!"
I don't think she ever truly got over killing Arkham in DMC 3. That's why she said that. The pain is there still. Arkham was a psychopath who craved devil power, but he was still her father in the end.
anyone else pause the video to admire that beautiful damascus pattern on that sword
It's funny that what Dante said represents what we all felt ..
We all had the feeling when we first saw Nero in DMC4 that he was either Dante's or Vergil's son .. then we saw how the Yamato reacted and we were sure .. Vergil is his father 😁
That feel when you find out who your father is 10 years after everybody else.
I mean I kinda had a feeling ever since DMC4 but this is kinda awesome
Tbh I don't know why the game treats it like such a big reveal, literally anyone who played DMC4 should be like 99% certain. I mean it's a reveal to Nero but even when you watch the storyline recap in DMC5 it tells you that he has Sparda's blood and that Yamato resonated with him, there's no way it could be anything else. If I remember correctly in DMC4 Nero even says that he's been hearing a voice that says "I need more power", which is Vergil's line. The actual plot twist is that Urizen is Vergil and that gets revealed way sooner.
It was extremely obvious that nero was vergil's son.
@@Fucisko exactly, I just remember way back when DMC4 came out and a bunch of my friends and myself included had said he must have been Vergils son and people where like nah you are a dumbass blah blah
Because I had said it too how come the Yamato was able to resonate into Nero, it was just so obvious
@@evangelion151 well said sir 😎
Well, there was at least a decent portion of the fandom convinced that Nero was Vergil and thought it was ridiculous and OOC for Vergil to have a kid. So I guess Capcom had to spell it out for them and leave no doubt or room for theories. Plus, Nero didn't know, so this is his wake up moment as well.
Nero: * literally breathes*
Dante: "and I took that personally"
This is what they call a heart-warming family reunion.
You got that right
@@Swagmaster1102 Lol.
As
It's funny that people were giving DMC4 shit because of the then new protagonist Nero, then Capcom made the DmC reboot and people realized how good DMC4 was
@@KaoKacique Hell yeah! DMC4 is actually still my personal favorite.
Who's the lucky lady who managed to get Vergil of all ppl?! 👁👄👁
I wonder that too, i bet she was beautiful, but i wonder what kind of personality she had or has (if she still alive)
@@youeatcerealwithafork"if still alive"
bro what you mean though 💀
I think what dante really meant as a justification for Nero not to fight was "you're my Nephew" meaning "you're my family"
Dante simply doesn't want to risk him dying
Somehow, I love the fact that Vergil basically told Dante to "git gud".
Johnny Yong Bosch’s voice acting is incredible
DONT FORGET DANIEL SOUTHWORTH
You shouldnt forget that he voiced Ichigo Kurosaki from the renowned Shounen anime Bleach
I wish there was some comical interaction
Vergil: Nero is my son !?
Dante: No shit genius! I want to know how's that happen too.
Nero: I'm expecting child support money for 18 years.
In addition, I think "Urizen" is a word bun for "Your Reason" as Urizen and V were part of Vergil. V is the human part while Urizen is Vergil reason to get power by embracing his demonic side.
I think you got that wrong. The "Your Reason" was a phrase V told to Dante when he asked about more info on this job.
Jairo Melchor He’s saying Urizen sounds like “Your reason.”
Urizen is from the book of urizen
Urizen Sounds like "You're his son" spoken very quickly
Jairo Melchor v litterally says his name is urizen because he is your reason for fighting
I like how Vergil is confused why he's suddenly in front of Dante and some kid he has never seen before but somehow understands he's related to him
2:40 this is a few moment where we get to heard Dante is being seriously angry
And also, how the heck Vergil have a son and Dante don't even have any child?
Dude really did great on his protection huh
He is a pull it off master.
Who is Dante going to impregnate? He canonically has no rizz
I knew Nero was Vergil's son, but that being confirmed in the game is totally different. It gave me chills like wooow
5:07 bong bong bong from trish ;)
DMC 5 special edition is not that far away now, which brought me here. And my free time made me write following-
This scene always made me wonder if Nero thought Dante was his father until this moment.
Nero......... The Grandson of sparda
Those Fortuna dudes should be worshipping Nero kkkkk
Gabriel Spalenza Pedroni kyrie is the lucky chick to marry a God’s descendant
Who all know that Vergil was the father before DMC5?
Pierre Green yes, when it come why dante and nero’s face almost identical, have white hair and wonder why yamato response to unknown protagonist if it is not because they have relation🤔
Me.
It wasn't hard to deduce, given all the bits of clues lying around.
Capcom flat out confirmed it in an art book they released years prior
"Get out of my way, Nero!"
Nero: 100 feet away from Dante
_Looks up one DMC 5 video about beating the prolouge boss without new game plus._
TH-cam: I guess it is now ok to recommend this video to you that *has a spoiler in it's name.*
No TH-cam. That was not ok.
also thanks to the FUCKING PRICKS that names this video. They could have named it "Nero Cutscene with Vergil" or some shit. but nooooooooo honestly i'm so fucking mad right now i need to go fucking kill someone
The guy that named this video has no consideration for others.
@Mike Lvxvria I kinda agree with you on the (arguably) common knowledge point but you don't have to click on this vid to see the title. YT Recommendations shows the whole title and it can be put anywhere.
This was the first thing I saw when I opened YT one time (thank god I already knew). Someone who doesn't know can't simply unread the title, reading is basically automatic by the age people play DmC.

Even though we all theorized and memed about it, actually having it be confirmed hits you like a ton of bricks. Like it was obvious but just finally hearing it in the cutscene is still shocking.
Theory:
Nero is angry because Vergil is his father instead of Dante 😂
Lol. Exactly what most of us thought to when we first saw it.
Me too
Kratos be disappointed
For nero not killing his father
Vergil, with all his problems, weaknesses and crazy search for power, was a more balanced, logical and fair being than Zeus.
Vergil: "You are weak. Letting family ties hold you back to gaining power"
Well Kratos would probably say now that he made the right choice.
But glad his son Atreus didn't do the same way to him~
Well, the past Kratos yes
The new one definitely wouldn't
