    Man you are such a tasteful drummer. every hit has a purpose not shredding for the sake of shredding. Nothing kills a song more then that

      Agreed. If you just search for "sickest drum solos" you're gonna get bored of the showmanship pretty quickly. Its all about the groove.

    56 year old drummer who never uses the ride but it is always there for a bell. And stupidly i have 5 rides. I just swapped it out for a 20 inch Byzance hand hammered thin crash and never going back. why did i wait so long to do that thank you.
    Now as a old dude my advice is with your phrasing you could really use a gong drum on your right side. just think about it. Once you try it you will never go without.

      Atley Meow I would like to think so actually. I listen to alot of AAL, and I have been since thier first album. So I love the experiment instrumental style of the progressive metal they play. I listen to alot of progressive instrumental and djent. But not many emphasize groove and unique time signatures like AAL or Periphery. Scale the Summit and Chimp Spanner are groovy, but they are just that. Extremely groovy with melody.
      Sebastiaan den Baars Tesseract is kool, I listen to one of their albums over and over, because it literally blend the entire album seamlessly. However that groove does not remind me of them.

    • @MrVash08
      @MrVash08 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, having listened to it again, I change my mind Sebastiaan den Baars . It does indeed remind of some of Tesseract. But this has more emphasis on the kick drum bass.
