The definition in India, 5G = experience the full 4G

  • @visangh

I have used 5G abroad. It is amazingly fast but heats up the phone and drains the battery at high speed. Once we have full fledged 5G consumers will realize that the hardware/software is not good enough.

I was getting 300Mbps speed near Jio Rabale Campus in Mumbai during trail run period. Now the max I can get is 45-50Mbps either Jio/Airtel. How far 5G improve in comparison to this number ? With all the worst flop movies in Bollywood, I don't concern about downloading whole movie in 2 mins should be the primary concern for paying hefty subscription fee for me.

its about only speed. and im happy with 4G speed. yes ofcourse there are areas where we need speed but they are very limited. normal people dont need that much of speed, people who need uses broadbands.

2G was also sufficient when there was no livestreem on TH-cam.
Similarly 4G is enough for today's day to day work.
But with 5G new technology will come in our daily life which will require 5G.
And at that time it would become unimaginable to live without 5G.

You will only get speed when there is network coverage. currently all the service providers (i experienced worst coverage of Jio, Airtel and BSNL) reduced the towers and coverage. "I think 5G is just a gamble".. if providers increase good coverage of 4G network is enough for most of the Indians. without enough coverage 5G will be nothing but big dent on your pocket.. "more money will be transferred from your pocket to already billionaires pockets faster than its in 4G".... In my opinion need a technology that enable the signals to travel to more distance OR eliminate cell towers all together and connect directly to satellites for wider coverage.

I believe in the near Future (5 ~ 10 Years) we wil be able to download entire "Websites" and search content in them as Download speeds increase exponentially. This means, As long as Memory power is improved on Devices, We will be able to download "TH-cam" and "Google' to our Devices and search for anyting, All without even having an Internet.
So Internet becomes less useful witih High Download Speeds, The People who sell internet must come up with ways to make us "Subscribe to internet" more, Perhaps they will start "Rewards" for staying online for long hours. If you can dowload everything fast, Who will connect to Internet ?

Sorry to say this is a poor analysis and presentarion.
With 5 G, customers will benefit marginally only. Telcom companies will benefit.
I am from Kerala, customer of best provider. Good tower coverage along main roads and cities. Other areas better off with BSNL.
At the onset of 3G, one could hardly get mobile call properly
With 4 G, coverage improved just before onset of 5G
With 5G, 4G will probably work as expected.
Better coverage is needed mainly for video viewing. Movies, You tube. Entertainment. Can live with out. Other power users have their own ways.
With 5G, tariff will increase. Telcom companies will benefit. A lot more infra structure will be needed to meet hyped expectations.

Why use standalone 5g network when there is an option for shared bandwidth? Is it because certain companies starting with A and ending in i are ready with their 12000 rs phones favoured by the banning of similiar Chinese phones? I just want to know. Why aren't you talking about that? Looks like I'm the one who's doing the actual journalism here.

5G does not add any productivty gains to a contry like India. The companies which will gain are Reliance Jio which can now monoploize the market with cheaper Network Base stations. We are not China or the US where there is a need for for Driverless cars or Automation in the factories. More villagers getting 5G phones to watch Tik Tok videos is not going to make India a $5T economy anytime soon. It will only make Mukesh Amabni eve more rich. Reason China has a very density of 5G is because the working poplulation has already moved up in the value chain. Here we have graduates applying for Peon jobs. Is 5G going to create 5 Million jobs? No. Everyday Modi wants to inagarate something with no tangibnle impact to the common man. Bharat = Dreamworld

We know very well What all u said about 5G network. But why u people are not talking about the scam behind the 5G spectrom auction. When thevery less efficient 2G spectrom had been sold for 1.76 lakh crores for the period of only five year period , why the more efficient high speed 5G spectrom have been autioned only for 1.53 lakh crores for the period of 20 years which is 4 times more than the 2G auction period.

5G is literally not an end customer product like 4G. Most of the truth which you mentioned is not truth. The advantages which you mentioned is already available with a decent OF network. 5G is not for the last leg customer. It's designed for the industries. Plus, I loved the 30℅ OF coverage funda and the highway pipeline. Unfortunately both are false. There are villages in India even without electricity or mobile service. Now you talk about 5g OF gateways.
If you are soliciting customers, kudos. But the name of the program should be changed.
