Due to the kindness of Gandhi family/congress party manufacturing jobs were exported to China . I have seen the import of textiles from China under-invoced to the extent of 25% of the actual price resulting in killing the domestic production .
Always blaming Congress will not do any good my friend. Why dont't you ask your beloved Narendra Modi what has he done during his tenure of last 11 years ?
Thanks for the honest, apolitical discussion. Some of the people commenting still want to live with fantasy. Actually, that’s the basis problem. To solve problems, we need to face reality. Thanks for the discussion 🙏
China,Japan,Korea,Vietnam,Singapore all have highly skilled and educated people compared to India.India needs to educate and skill its manpower on war footing.
Without land, legal and labor reforms and increased participation of women in skilled jobs, India will be stuck in upper middle income status - 0% chance of crossing to upper income threshold and becoming a developed economy. I dont see any reforms in these areas. So there is no chance.
How do we skill people? What if we skill them and they dont find any jobs to use those skills? We will need somekind of policy to skill those who are already in the workforce or have some way of employers sponsoring and paying for the 'skilling'. Also, small private firms are not willing to give decent working conditions to anybody and dont really appreciate 'skills' if they can get unskilled people do a shoddy job but for a lot less money.
So we are talking about here enrollment ratio. Here my thoughts. When the society do not see any incentive of higher education like panel mentioned Biochemistry graduate working as home help. How low income families get confidence to spent money on higher education.
So many inaccuracies right from the starting... In 2024, India's per capita income is more than $2700 and in PPP terms around $10,100. Also Bangladesh is not ahead of India in GDP per capita, it was for a brief period of time during covid when India's economy plummeted.
In my opinion, completely biased views that use statistics (not just incorrect data) to suit their narrative. One cannot just use the metrics set by western economies. We should have our own metrics (grounded to our own realities) to assess development related to where we are today and strive towards what is realistically a possibility.

This victim mindset won't yield anything either. Stop the blame game, give solutions

First thing to do is to raise per capita positivity. Other things will follow.
